I wont be making any macaroons for a while as on Friday I fell over and chipped my collar bone, ripped my rotor cuff (!) and sprained my knee. I don't do anything by half! All I can say is it hurts like the blazes, so don't try this at home as they say!

Enjoy the nice weather everyone- it makes a change!

    Take care x

If it is worth doing, it is worth doing properly!:D

FREESPIRIT could your GP prescribe anti sickness meds for you? You shouldn't have to put up with that on top of everything else. So sorry that things are so tough for you at the moment.

NEWTHRIFT well done on getting your veg planted, I haven't even managed to plant up any tubs for the front garden.

MRSINVISIBLE well done you on the catering, I think I'm more of a receiver than a giver where food is concerned.

PINKSTEPS glad the assessment went well even if you did have to go outside your own area. Hope this is the start of a positive path.

MURIE what can I say?! Hope the pain eases soon. Love the pic.

Well I had my first chemo session on Monday and have been back today to have the 48 hour pump disconnected. I've got anti sickness meds and steroids too and it's been pretty ok so far so I'm keeping everything crossed it stays that way. Just need to avoid infections and anything colder than room temperature then back a week on Friday for bloods and to see consultant and 2nd chemo on 16th. Missing the littlies but DD has had a rotten cold so not been able to see them.

murie - definatly a relief to get everything planted, need to nip and check how it is all doing tomorrow. We share our plot with my parents as it's quite big and it's all fenced and gated so fingers crossed no bunnies have got in the last two years to much my lovely veggies. I would love to do tomatoes but I haven't tried them. :rotfl: flickr pic made me chuckle.

Peppa - Glad first chemo has gone well. It's taken me three days to get planted but was nice to be out in the sunshine (and away from the ironing haha).

Free - Sorry you are still not feeling good :( I really hope you start feeling better soon, at least to stop feeling nauses and be able to eat, I always think that makes everything worse. I can't wait to see a picture of the cake. Thank you, I am glad it is planted, can't wait to get some veg off now.

Been on a first aid at work course today, 1st of 3 days. Wasn't as bad as I expected. Not there again until next week.
Nothing much else going on here, quiet really. Little tikes toy has turned up for cousins sons 1st birthday and i'm pleased with it.

    Hope everyone is ok :)
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Obviously time of year where not much is happening.

On the Christmas front, was in Poundworld yesterday evening and they had Roberston Mince meat, long expiry, so may be worth getting in if you want to be prepared.

Lovely day here, hope it helps all those under the weather feel a little better.

  • This weather is just astonishing! Glorious sunshine on the weekend, floods yesterday and sunshine again today. It is crazy.

I've not done any Christmas planning lately but I was talking to my sister the other day and she has started shopping already so I definitely want to get back on it. I've been getting a few gift ideas from Pinterest and although I'm not at all creative, some of them look quite easy so I should be able to do them myself.

I haven't been to Home Bargains for a while so need to try and get an hour to have a nose around, I got quite a few bits for Christmas from there last year so want to see what sort of offers they have at the moment to start putting things away.

Free - I hope you are feeling better soon. I hope it was a lovely dream, full of twinkly fairy lights and christmas cheer. I was looking through some photos on my phone yesterday and came across the ones of my tree last year, I just wanted to get it out of the attic and put it up.

Peppa - you sound so positive, I hope you continue to feel ok throughout it. I know somebody who had chemo for breast cancer, was fine all the way through the course until the very last one where she was quite sick for about a week afterwards. However, she said she much preferred that than being ill throughout the whole course and now she has been in remission for 3 years so living life to the fullest :)

Murie - ouch! That's all I can say :rotfl:I hope you recover soon, sounds very painful.

I've got my youngest daughters birthday at the end of this month so need to start sorting out a party! Just have no idea what to do this year.

PEPPAPIG i have been thinking of you my lovely, i thought your chemo was on friday for some reason, fingers crossed you will carry on feeling ok, i actually did think the other night whether i could get some, i am going through packets of alka seltzer its ridiculous! Aww sending you some virtual hugs, it wont be long til you are cuddling your GC again xx

NEWTHRIFT thankyou honey, those first aid courses are brilliant and such a good skill to have. Ooh you will have to do homegrown tomatoes they are gorgeous! Hope the pic works

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY i have noticed christmas chocs and biscuits in various places just lately but with no price reduction, i cant believe people would pay full price for old stale christmas food!

MONEYMISSION i was actually panicking whether i had bought everything or not haha but still lovely nonetheless :) tomorrow sees the last of the kids birthdays so no doubt i will start thinking more about christmas presents

Free- it was well worth the effort! That cake is a 'treat'!! Deffo gonna do one for DHs birthday in November!
Went to drs this morning, apparently I wont be able to see a difference in my arm movements for at least 6 weeks and if it doesn't start to improve after that I may have to have an op to re attach the muscle. That is NOT gonna happen- by hook or by crook it will heal on its own - I am determined!

Have spent the afternoon on pinterest looking for canap! ideas for DDs birthday- some of them look lovely but a wee bit complicated. I have ordered some of those wooden picks (not cocktail sticks) from ebay as several of the recipes use them. One really delicious one is melon, parma ham and feta cheese sticks with mint. Ooh,I feel a sample menu coming on (albeit they may not look so pretty if I have to get DH to make them up! )

Hope everyone is well as can be and enjoying the nice weather x
