Evening,
DD had a lovely birthday. I managed to get her a good Shopkins playset (fridge) that came with lots more Shopkins than the other sets. Also got her a My little pony Equestria doll, a bag to match her dancing kilt, a baby changing bag and a few wee other bits. And of course the thing she loves out of all that is the mason jar glass with a straw that cost me 69p lol.
sorry to hear you are still in pain Freespirit. I know hospitals are no fun, but better to get to the bottom of it and sorted x
Lovely to see you OMO. Good on you for taking the leap. I think it will look amazing and cosy. Will be a good feeling to declutter, even if it's hard work. Good luck with it all x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Thank you for your birthday wishes, I’ve had a lovely weekend. On Friday (my birthday) we went out for brunch (I had a Prosecco at 11am!), then bowling (as much as you can with a 20 month old!) and we went to the cinema in the evening. Then on Saturday my DH had arranged a surprise lunch with my family and best friend, we don’t live near them so we met at a half way point and it was lovely. Then on Sunday we had a get together with DH’s family and yesterday we saw the show home of our new house for the first time – we were excited and nervous! Turns out we had nothing to worry about, we absolutely love it and we’re now really excited about moving in!
freespirit well done on your weight loss, that’s fantastic! I hope you are very proud of yourself. I know it’s hard for you to go to the docs and hospital but hopefully you are one step closer to a proper diagnosis. I’m glad you had a good day and were feeling mellow, baking is always good for the soul!
Gettingtherequickly sounds like you had a lovely day.
Treasurequeen what bargain cards, I like to get all mine in advanced too!0 -
Free – I’ve never done the 100 things before but Princesskitty mentioned the website so I went and pinned it ready, otherwise I know I would lose it in the thread somewhere. Yes, it has some fab ideas, I am defiantly going to do as many as possible (I don’t know if I’ll manage all 100) Glad that you are in at the Dr’s and really hope they can help :-) Update: sounds like they are moving forward with trying to get to the bottom of it and fab news about blood pressure being good – always a silver lining somewhere
Vulpix – I think you are not a million miles away from me (in the Peak District/Midlands too) as we also have had all 4 seasons it feels like in one day haha.
OMO – I hope the sorting and preparing to move in to a static is going well.
GTQ – Sounds like you had a wonderful time!
MrsI – How is the buffet prep for Saturday going?
Princesskitty – Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday weekend!
treasurequeen - Fantastic card/wrap bargins, I usually like to get mine in advance but I missed the boat a bit this year...or if i have brought some I can't remember where I have put them :rotfl:
So typically the weather is now lovely after a wet bank holiday. Never mind, I'm hoping it stops this way, as I'm off tomorrow so I would like to spend half a day at the allotment planting/sorting as we are a bit behind this year thanks to the weather.
The 50th birthday cake turned out well for BIL's partners mum, I was quite happy with it.
We had a wonderful weekend, spent quite a bit of quality time with DH which was nice. We also went and had cuddles with our best friends new little daughter. She is adorable and makes me even more broody:D
Nothing too much Christmassy going on here atm.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi, Happy Birthday Pixtots
Free it rained and rained at the spring fair.Such a shame as so much effort had gone in to it.It is of course beautiful now.Wall to wall sunshine. I have never made macaroons, perhaps Murie could give us a master class.I am trying to keep off cake, mostly by not making any!My strict diet has only reduced me by 4lbs.My toe is feeling much better this week so I can be a bit more active in the hope that helps.I did the band in all that rain in my slippers, did get some looks from the few people braving the weather.
Today I WILL paint the kitchen window and french doors and do some cleaning.I am eagerly awaiting a delivery of top soil.WOOOOHOOOO!I am starting by making a small bed in the back garden.DD1 is coming at weekend I will see if she can put some pics on of the kitchen and garden.
Also having people to dinner on Saturday,a very nice lady and husband who have recently moved here from London. They sold a house in London which would be 250k here for 800k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so they have bought the most beautiful house and new cars etc etc.Thats the way to do it.
Enjoy the weather all Vx:0 -

At the moment her operation is on June 6th but we have said we can take a last minute cancellation if one becomes available. Generally she is doing very well gaining a little more independence by going to the village high street to do a little shopping on her own , she is now the familys official medication collector from the chemist.
Christmas wise we are delivering my parents gifts and all the birthday/Christmas cards for the rest of the year next Monday.:D
Is anyone with SSE for Gas/Electric ? I am with Sainsburys and they are useless so looking to change asap. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Chrissy - I'm not with SSE myself but I hear good things about them.
I have found lately I'm thinking more and more about Christmas! I always have moments where it pops into my head, particularly if I come across something that reminds me of Christmas, but lately it has been happening more frequently :rotfl:
We've got a holiday at the end of June though so I'm currently getting excited about that. I need to start getting some clothes for holiday, mainly for my daughters but I think I need to get a few pairs of shorts this year. The selection of shorts I currently have are about 6 years old now and come out for every holiday, so starting to look a bit tatty. I also think some of them won't even fit me anymore - desperately trying to lose a few pounds before holiday! I just seem to eat constantly at the moment, every time I get home from work, I'm knackered so I sit down and grab a bag of crisps or some other junk. I need to find something to keep me busy because I know I'm only eating out of boredom.
I have such a long to do list around the house at the moment I don't even know where to start. I need a magic wand!
Sending hugs and well wishes to everybody x

Hi, it's been a long old day today but finally we are getting answers to DSs medical problems. Had to have an assessment from a different county but it all went smoothly. Now I can relax and start thinking ahead.0

pinksteps, well done , out of county is a pain, but if it gets results for you....
well, for those of you who asked about the buffet (tonight's the night) here is a run down of the menu:
sandwiches, made with aldi bread, their multigrain and their malted is lovely. various fillings to cope with dairy intolerant, vegetarian, and bl@@dy vegan.
quiche caramelised onion sausage and broccoli, garlic courgette and tomato with green peppers, bacon mushroom and cherry tomatoes, and 'summer medley' ie all the leftover fillings just thrown in. Sausage plaits, red onion and stuffing, or tomato and chilli, chicken goujons in a spicy breadcrumb coating, sausage rolls sausages and cheese rolls. coleslaw, waldorf, minted cabbage, pasta salad rice salad, beetroot and carrot, jubilee chicken. Coffee and walnut , chocolate fudge, Victoria, lemon drizzle savarin, gingerbread and sticky toffee gateaux, (cake to you and me!) then the usual crisps and cheese and suchlike. Just salads and sarnies left to do, the rest got done yesterday. Go, me, eh? Honestly, it sounds more impressive than it is, fortunately everyone knows me, and are forgiving of brunette sponge and not quite even decoration, so no worries.
Right, l am off to buy the bread, l may be some time!!!0 -
forgot to say, had £100 budget and have 37p left, so bread will take me over by about £60
