  • Hello all, hopefully now I will be back here regularly.
Major lifestyle change in the fact that after about forty years on and off anti depressants (started pre teen). I am now off for good. I had tried and failed to be medication free over the past few years but stumbled but I am finally in the right place. Saying that, the problems have not vanished, I have the depression, ocd, anxiety and panic attacks still but I'm looking at it all positive instead of drugged up (even off the painkiller addiction) So I'm doing really well and fairly happy, starting to slowly think about moving again and not try the going in with all guns blazing approach like before, and fail.
DS is still poorly and is not due to see a neurosurgeon until June, but that will be here in no time. Our dog Teddy is still bouncy and making ds walk when possible. They've even manage with no wheelchair or walker. Such a difference from his dancing days, now we get excited if he can manage a ten minute walk and appreciate everything around.
So, I'm back here. Christmas wise I picked up a lovely watch in @rgos for ds with a hundred and thirty pound discount (might of picked myself up one too). A shirt for him in tkma++ at fifty instead of two hundred and fifty (who pays these prices). And a nightshirt from oxfam, still packaged for three pounds instead of sixty five. I have preordered a retro atari handheld console so it's just some jeans, socks etc and smellies and we are done I think as I am only buying for him this year. I shall make my mum a blanket or suchlike.

So that's it, nothing exciting and I shall now catch up on here. Hugs to all that need them and to those who don't, just because I can.
  • Just butting in here to say that Christmas Monopoly is £15.26 from Amazon at the moment. Have posted on grabbit board, might be of interest to someone.

Thanks MM, I have just bought it. I wanted to get it last year but thought £30 was a bit steep for a game that will only come out once a year. I've ordered it now so will put it away for our Christmas Eve box :j

Pinksteps, my heart goes out to you, it is dreadful watching our children suffer. I know it creases me!
Feisty, li'l me sounds a proper handful, hope the dairy free works. Also hope there is a good point when you and mr. f get to talk about his RVI time.
Free hang in there, you don't realise just how much you achieve each day, and how much support you give others.xxx
l have nothing to report on the Christmas front, no, l lie, l got a few pairs of jeans chinos and dress trousers in the 70% menswear sale at M&S and 2 lovely parka-esque jackets, so they will go into DS1&2s and DGS1s presents. l also got 2packs of 3 short sleeved white shirts for DGS for school, £8.99 down from £29 per pack. Menswear, not school uniform, they don't fit him . The jackets tho were even better, both £129 down to £35 and then my discount on top made them £28 each.
Now, got to go and post DDs ESA forms, and tax my car. xxx

Moneymission – Excellent news re next module

Free – Sorry you had to rearrange the Dr’s appointment. Is your stomach feeling any better today? Hugs to you, you do so well!!!

Princesskitty – Hugs to you!! It will take a little while but I’m sure you will begin to settle soon  Which Christmas film did you go for? I’ve been pinning way to much Christmas stuff recently, skipping summer full stop haha!

Feisty - Hope they find what is causing your little one pain soon and sort.

Pinksteps – Fantastic that you are off the AD’s big hugs!!

Hugs all round, everyone seems to be having a bit of a rough time at the moment :( :grouphug: <strangest emoji but the sentiment is there :j

I keep feeling a little green and although MIL isn't in the office at the mo it's taking all my powers to not show it when she (or anyone) is around :rotfl:
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
    Mum to two boys :heartpuls
  • fiesty thank you, I didn’t actually get around to watching the Christmas film in the end but I watched a bit of Delia’s Classic Christmas and that cheered me up! Oh it’s so hard when little ones cry all the time and you don’t know why isn’t it? Poor her and poor you. My friend had a baby that struggled with dairy milk so she had to do a dairy free diet. I hope they can find the cause of it very soon for you as it is very stressful.

Money maker thanks for the heads up about the Christmas Monopoly!

Pinksteps nice to hear from you! It’s great to hear you are in a good place and that you have managed to come off medication. It is a very difficult thing to balance and you being happy is what is most important. I am sorry to hear your DS is still struggling, I do hope that the neurosurgeon can help him in June. Wow you have found some fantastic bargains, well done!

newthrift I keep pinning Christmas things too – it seems to be the most exciting thing to pin!

Thank you all for your support, I am amazed at how emotional this move has made me. I met up with another mum yesterday and we took our little ones to the park and to Costa afterwards and I really enjoyed it. I actually feel much better today, I’ve found this week really tough but something seems to have clicked today and I feel a bit better. Hopefully this is the start of me feeling better about living here. I am always remembering that nothing bad is happening and we’re all ok, our silly minds get carried away with themselves sometimes don’t they?

Oh pink, my heart breaks for your son. I remember a few years back when you used to talk about his dancing, it must be very tough. You are doing so well my lovely! Slow and steady wins the race! I really hope the neuro surgeon can help xxx

I'm really glad you are starting to feel better! :)

Well yesterday was my first full dairy free day and little My was like a different child! No major meltdowns and she slept lots. She has however started crying when anyone but me holds her, praying this is a phrase as it's causing upset to DH and extra stress for me. We have the grandparents babysitting for 3 hours tonight. Quality time and take away for DH and me!

I do feel for you, Wiggle has had a few phases like that. It is quite stressful as it's very difficult to do anything when they want you all the time, but I find that Wiggle does always get over it again at some point. DH struggled with it at first as he felt a bit rejected, but he's used to it now and knows he comes out the other side. There's still moments when Wiggle wants me to do things instead of DH but most of the time he's ok. I hope you and DH manage enjoy your quality time off and enjoy your takeaway! Try not to think about little miss too much, she'll be ok!

We popped to Milton Keynes this morning and it was great to see all of the shops i'd ever need in one place! I was especially pleased to see a large Card Factory shop as most of the ones i've been to are tiny and impossible with a buggy. I don't want to wish time away but I was in there thinking that I couldn't wait until Christmas as they do the most magical displays in there. I can't wait to take Wiggle to see them! My parents are on their way over to us today and DH and I are going out for an Indian tonight, I can't wait! I hope you are all having a good weekend and hugs to you if not.

Hi yes, he has taken in all in his stride ( bad use of phrase there :rotfl: )
Far better than I have but he's just looking at his next appointment and is expecting no major developments. We want to go back to another Orthopedic surgeon as everything pointed to that before but we are going to at least say we've tried everything they have suggested. Must admit being off the ADs has started to give me the motivation and fight to push these doctors again.
House hunting has taken on a whole new meaning now as I now have to look at areas that have good support for DS's needs. X

    Hi,

bought the monopoly on Friday,it was delivered yesterday.Safely shoved in the understairs cupboard before anyone knew about it;)Thanks Moneymaker.

Pinksteps, that is impressive,a great achievement.I was prescribed something or other when I had cancer and couldnt wait to get off them. The GP insisted that I wait until the spring. It was quite scary even after a short time feeling real feelings instead of muted ones,so a massive well done to you.I don't know what happened to your son but best wishes in that department.Ace bargains.

Pk29 sounds like you have turned a bit of a corner. You have your lovely little family and a lovely home and soon lots of lovely new friends too.I bet there are lots of people new to the area just like you who are just waiting for you to discover each other.

Fiesty,I hope the improvement in baby fiesty continues. My eldest was a crier.Never slept more than 2 hours,I was convinced he must be in agony. The GP and I tried everything.Eventually he grew out of it.The GP was very old and said crying babies like that are intelligent and are frustrated. No comfort at all at the time, but it proved to be true.He got a first at Oxford.

I need to just finish a few snags and the kitchen will be complete.Trouble is now the weather is a bit better I want to be out in the "garden".Bomb site would be more apt.I saw the BBC are looking for people to be on a programme where Monty Don comes and gives you advice and you make a garden.I am thinking about applying.

    love to all Vx
