I haven't had a chance to read back yet since my last post but I just needed to come on and say that i'm feeling quite emotional today! It is my last day living in the lovely town I live in, Wiggle and I are relocating tomorrow whilst the packers pack our house up and then DH will follow on Saturday with all of our stuff. I'm really going to miss our town, it's really pretty and even though it's not massive it has a lovely array of shops, bars restaurants etc and it's on the river Thames. Where we're moving to isn't horrible but it doesn't really have a town, just a big Tesco! I think ordinarily i'd be fine but it means so much more as i'm at home with Wiggle, I know where everything is and we have our regular groups and friends we see all the time. I know that we'll get that again once we've settled into the new place but it's really daunting and i'm worried i'm going to feel quite lonely and isolated initially. DH's parents will be nearby which will be lovely, and I actually joined a 'mummy social' website and someone messaged me a few days ago and i'm meeting her next Thursday so there are already positive things, but I can't help feeling anxious. Plus I have all the memories here, this is the first house DH and I bought together, we got married whilst we were here and had Wiggle, so there are lots of memories here. I know i'll be ok in the end and we've got our reasons for moving, but i'm really going to miss this place!0

Sending you big hugs Free, hope your feeling a bit better today.
Vulpix - that's a good idea, I might suggest the fake christmas idea to my mum as I know she will be missing him come the festive season. Really apperciate the gift ideas, I think I might do money for his birthday and then similar to what you did for Christmas as they should hopefully be able to fit it in to their suitcases, I'll have to find out how much/what they are taking. Hope all went well yesterday?
Feeling much better today thanks Murie.
Princesskitty - I hope moving has/is going ok. Sounds like you have plenty to look forward to in the new area, just keep focusing on them and fantasic that you are already meeting up with another mum next week.
I picked fish & chips up and today and had lunch with my Grandad, he doesn't get out much so he really enjoyed both the chips and my company. I don't get as often as I would like to even though he isn't far away so I really enjoyed a couple of hours with him.
Curry, which is homemade from the local butchers, is in the oven (very lazy tea but it's so tasty) and pj's are on so i'm planning on an easy evening.
:beer:Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi all
Hugs to Free. I hope things pick up soon.
Vulpix, we go away to Malta for a week in 3 weeks time and my husband has developed what is known in our house as “holiday tourettes”. He will be watching tv or washing dishes and will suddenly shout out “travel documents” or “ aftersun” or “immodium”.
It drives me mad as it is me that has spreadsheets for each holiday which always has the essential list at the front.
Passports, insurance, E111, currency, sun cream etc…….
Murie, yes I am pleased with my little stash. It's slowly building and I hope to get the kids vodka etc when I am away. The kids are 23 and 21!!!!!
Princess, I understand the memories that you are talking abut but they are in your mind and heart. They do not remain with the bricks and mortar. I'm sure you will soon build new relationships. Babies (and dogs) are great for getting people to chat to you so Wiggle will be a huge help to you.
I must go and sort out this mountain of washing
Hugs to all
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0 -
Lovin the holiday tourettes.I have started putting stuff on the spare bed as I think about it or it comes through the laundry. We have all got new underwear.I don't know why,I always buy new for a holiday.I have also started the "list".This is a serious document which must be adhered to.One list for each person.I am trying to only use hand luggage as you always take too much stuff and bring half of it back unused.Plus you have to cart the cases about with you so less is more for me!I am getting a bit excited,I think about us all spending some time together rather than the holiday bit.I expect it will be a bit like where I live now but with grander scenery. We live in a national park and are visiting one,not a lot on if you are not into walking etc.
PK29,awwww.A new chapter begins. This time next year you will be immersed in your new area.Nothing is ever stagnant,it never lasts whether feeling high or low,I comfort myself with that often.Wishing you all the very best in your new home.xxx
The builders are here, the builders are here!!!!!!!!!! They are starting to dig out the back garden. At the moment the garden is about a foot away from the back door. There is a retaining wall about 3 foot high. They are taking it back 3m,putting drains in,building a new wall and steps and laying a stone patio.I can then get on with making a garden in the back.We are just about getting to the end of our money for renovations. Not quite finished as everything is always more expensive than expected. The kitchen was @4k more.So the drive will have to wait for a good while which is a shame. At least the massive stone wall which is falling down belongs to the council. They have been and taken photos of it so you never know!
Free,hope you are ok.xxx

Afternoon everyone, i have just forced myself out of bed and onto the sofa, i have had a bug the last couple of days, vomiting, hot and cold, etc. But the good thing is no pain ???? I feel so rotten and as if i even move i will be sick again, i dont know how i have caught it as i havent been anywhere or seen anyone since sat going to sainsburys to get my bedding!!! DD1 is now got her anxiety back
with all this new job shenanigans and is really suffering, and DS told me last night that he is having counselling again as he feels his depression is coming back and wants to head it off before it takes a hold! He was really ill with it at Uni following all the trouble with my ex and how he used to speak/treat him and he now has huge confidence issues. Oh it never rains but it pours!!!
VULPIX im so sorry one knee hasnt worked and you are still in pain after going through that!!! Sorry that they found it is an ulcer, i didnt realise you could just take meds to heal them, good luck! Haha glad you are taking a stand no more illnesses! Your holiday sounds fab and boy do you need this! Hope the garden plans all go to plan and stays in budget
MURIE i also got DS birthday present yesterday from amazon, i got £30 cashback from doing a gas/electric switch with :money:so used it towards his birthday present to save me some money, as he is a twin it is always an expensive month in May!
PRINCESSKITTY oh honey you will be just fine, look what you have achieved friends/clubs etc wise since you were pregnant with Wiggle, you will get yourself out there and build another circle of friends in no time i am sure of that! And it wont take long to get used to the area, it will be hard for the first 6 months i always want to move back in that time but then i settle down and start getting used to things! Good Luck my lovely and hope it all goes well!
NEWTHRIFT i would love to say i am feeling better but as you just read above (moan moan moan :rotfl:) aww that was a lovely thing to do with your grandad im sure he was thrilled!
NITNURSE haha i love your DH holidays tourettes, that has made my day :rotfl:ooh i always wanted to go to malta and never got round to it! Hope you have a fab holiday!

Sorry your not feeling much better Free tomorrow is another day though
hugs xx
vulpix delighted the builders have turned up to finally start work!
Nothing much to report here, I helped push a big metal spring out a van at work and now DH is not happy incase I have hurt my back again. But there was no other option, the bloke delivering needed help and nobody else was about. I've had a hot water bottle on my back over lunch and had a gentle stretch to hopefully counteract any impending soreness, fingers crossed.
Off out for tea with friends tonight which will be nice. They are expecting there baby to arrive soon and I can't wait!!
Hugs and hot coco to those who want + a biscuit if you likeChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Free: Sorry things not great for you all at the mo, but hopefully you will all be firing on all 4 cylinders shortly which means you can enjoy the summer days ahead (I live in hope that they will be fine!) Thanks for reminding me that I should be getting some money for switching tarrifs.
Newthrift: I only had one set of grandparents as Dad's died before we were born. My maternal grandfather was not what you would call emotional, we shook hands when we went in and were seen but not heard. My grandmother on the other hand, well, she died a few years ago and despite her wish that her own children carry her coffin, would have been beaming with pride at 22 of her 30 surviving grandchildren being directly involved in her funeral. I swear she was upstairs telling everyone "they are all mine!"Enjoy any time you have with a grandparent, it is very precious.
Nitnurse: I have just bought some travel wallets for a friend, she loved mine as having everything together, passport, E111, insurance details, pen etc, with space for currency etc. I only paid about £3 each for them on Ebay, they are in bright colours, so easy to spot when looking for them, may save a bit on the tourettes!
Princess: It will take a while to settle in, but this is a new adventure, so enjoy it, we will want to know all about it.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Afternoon/Evening all, i think i am starting to feel a bit better the last couple of hours, i have just eaten dinner so time will tell! DD1 and DS are in London for the day visiting the Science Museum and DD1 bought DS a Yo Sushi afternoon for christmas where they learn how to make sushi, so hopefully they are having a nice bit of downtime and lots of fun!
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY aww thats a lovely story about how many your nans grandchildren were involved in her funeral, 30 grandchildren wow:)
