feisty thank you so much, I really appreciate that :) turns out my cycle was now just late so that's easier to deal with than a miss I think.

Tea is all ready to go so i'm just relaxing on the sofa with the gifts lists trying to find some deals.
Had a lovely day with my heavily pregnant friend today. Been a nice walk and had lunch, we think her contractions had started when she left, fingers crossed!!

Been another lovely day - all nice for the Queen turning 90 :D - shame the forecast here looks like it is going away for the weekend though, typical!!
Such sad news recently with more great stars passing away. Doris Roberts (everybody loves raymond/Mrs Miracle) and Victoria Wood :(
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

NEWTHRIFT that's a good idea, I think it's ok to tweak them a bit as I made them before I knew what I know now if you see what I mean :D

FREE I do hope you're ok and just not wanting to post. You've come so far and you can deal with this too. Hope you're managing to get some cuddles with Thumper and hope DD is coping ok. Sending hugs X

PRINCESSKITTY glad you had a good visit to MK. There's a really good Christmas place later in the year, they sell lovely Christmas things all in one place. I think it's over near Barton let Clay but can't remember at the mo. As soon as they start advertising it in the local press about October time I'll point it out for you.

It's so quiet on here, I think it's a been a rough start to the year for quite a few of us but hopefully we'll all pull through together and our Christmas spirit will be back in force before long.

I saw the oncology consultant yesterday and I have a pre-chemo assessment on 6th May and then all being ok will start my treatment on 9th. It will be one drug given at the hospital then I go home with a pump to give the other one over 48 hours then back to have it disconnected. It's every two weeks for 6 months. Had a long chat about side effects so keeping everything crossed to get as few as possible. Key thing is to avoid infection as my immune system won't be good - not easy for someone who picks up a cold every time anyone sneezes lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Peppa glad your appointment went well yesterday. Although it's awful that you're having to have the chemo in the first place, it's probably the best time of the year to keep your immune system boosted: all of the delicious soft fruits will be in the shops packed with vitamins and minerals, there aren't as many sickness bugs around, and just seeing the sun shining can nourish your soul! I'm a great believer in a sufficient intake of water - normally 1.5 litres a day - or weak squash if you can't take water plain - and I know that some people can't. I have recently come to the conclusion that you can only do what you can do so if you need to step back then do so - look after yourself.
It is quiet on here - like many others, I read every day but don't feel that I have anything of great interest to say. So, I'm hoping that everyone is as well as can be. x

Hope that the neighbours aren't needing to do their washing or have a shower! We once had our water supply cut off when there was some building works going on further up the street and when my mum went out - the builders said 'your house is not meant to be connected to that pipe'.

Peppapig, thoughts and hugs coming your way, baby steps, baby steps pet, through this time. Chemo is much more refined and target specific now compared with even 5 years ago, (as l am sure your consultant has told you, ) so that side effects are minimised. l know you are a strong lady, so get a bit selfish, and a)look after yourself, and b)get them to look after you too.
Vulpix, oh, no! water eh? it is so inconvenient when it isn't 'on tap'! hope your water board were quick to fix it.
Well, my excitement for the week was that my neighbour demolished my front garden wall the other night, by accident, with his pickup. His dad is going to rebuild it (lovely family) l did say 'you could have knocked the fence down too, it is about jiggered' .
he said he would put it on his to-do list.
I went out last evening with DD for a curry, had a lovely evening, it was her birthday on Monday, so l said it was for that, but really, it was more to try to get her through this week, as it is a year since her husband died, and she is struggling.
l have organised a hairdo and a manicure for her, just little treats, not taking up all her day, but something to look forward to.

peppa most defiantly you should be able to tweak them :D

vulpix oh dear, did you not fancy a water feature in the garden? :rotfl::p Hope it is sorted now.

mrsI hugs and thoughts to your DD and your family. Lovely that you are doing little bits to try and keep her chin up, I'm sure it will be helping.

I've got a poorly DH tonight, he came back from work and looked/felt shocking and didn't really want any food. Luckily I managed to get some food down him and he did feel a bit better. Running a bit of a temp but he has gone to bed and fingers crossed an early night and plenty of sleep will do him good.

I'm just relaxing on the sofa with the lamp on, candles lit and just some rubbish on the telly. Rock & roll on a Saturday night :rotfl:

Going to sort an order from bodyshop whilst the offer is still on ready for SIL christmas.

  • Peppapig I’d love to hear about the Christmas shop, thanks! I will keep everything crossed that you don’t have many of the chemo side effects, as others have said it’s time for you to look after yourself. You’ll soon be through it!

vulpix blimey I hope they got the water sorted!

mrsinvisible it must be so hard for your DD, I can only imagine. It’s lovely you’ve organised some pampering bits for her and I’m sure it will all help.

freespirit I do hope you’re ok, thinking of you.

I haven’t been on for a while as I had a busy week with my parents staying. I went to the Ritz for afternoon tea yesterday with some friends, it was pleasant and I’m not being ungrateful but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations! I needed the loo when I got there and it’s one of those places that has lots of flannel sized towels by the sinks to dry your hands, only after washing my hands I realised there were no towels in any of the baskets and the bin was overflowing, so I had to dry my hands with toilet paper!!! NOT what I expected at the Ritz! Especially with the prices they charge! Still, it was a nice day out.

I was thinking about the advent activities I want to do this year and came across this website:

    http://www.rosalilium.com/2015/10/100-things-to-do-this-christmas/

There’s some nice things on there, I’m definitely doing a festive indoor picnic!

I hope everyone is ok, hugs to those who are struggling. x

Hi all. I've not been on here in ages. I usually always have the tab with the page open, but I had cleared my safari history so once it was gone I kept forgetting to search again.

    Hope everyone is doing ok?

I've been busy with the kids as usual. Both girls dancing and DS has guitar lessons, so I'm out pretty much every night and competitions at the weekend.
I'm still enjoying my job. It's so nice to have a regular wage and school holidays off with the kids.
I'm still skint all the time though lol.

It's my youngests 5th birthday on May 1st. She has asked for Shopkins, something I know nothing about. So need to try and find the best sets to get her. Don't really know what else to get her. She loves dresses, so might pop to Primark and pick her up a couple of summer dresses.

Will go and read back, ive probably missed loads x

  • :bdaycake: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY quidsy! :bdaycake:

Sorry this is so late, today was one of those rare occasions I remembered to look at the front page and saw it was your birthday a few days ago. I hope you had a lovely day!

nic good to hear from you and i'm glad you are enjoying your job.

Things are getting easier for me in my new home, I woke up feeling quite lonely yesterday morning but went to a toddler group and met another mum who has just moved here too so we swapped numbers and are going to meet up. Our children are only a few months apart which is good.

It looks like a nice day outside at the moment, my MiL is going to have Wiggle for a couple of hours this morning, i'm still not used to having time to myself during the week so not sure what i'm going to do yet. Probably housework! :p

I hope you're all ok, thinking of you. xx
