Peppa, I love him to bits but he is a little you know what! He has just this minute knocked DS's drink over to get the ice cubes out!
Yes bears might be a hazard but I would still love that boathouse!

    Morning all
    It's Christmas Eve eve!

Hope everyone is where they need to be and Christmas plans are on track.

I'm hoping dad and step mum will make it round today, that Dh will get let out of work a bit earlier and I get my shopping list written- it's only for the last few bits not a full shop.

I've read but not retained so I'll wish everyone Avery happy Christmas and hope the celebrations are good
I hope storm Barbara isn't as bad as predicted and everyone stays safe and has power.

Right better get on stuff to do.

Murie, what a lovely hour I spent looking at that blog.Well just looked at photos really. It makes me feel quite inferior that I don't have the picture perfect house and garden! I imagine if I had her bank account though I would have a good go!I LOVE Canada.I was a nanny there in the 80's and visited earlier this year.We saw several bears,Grisly and Black. All they were interested in were eating spring flowers.A couple of tourists had been mauled a few weeks before we went but they were hiking and managed to actually walk on a sleeping bear! Where my son lives though people don't have cats that go outside as they are snack size for a bear:eek:

Today I was to have gone to a local NT property (the one with Colin Firth in the lake)with my friend. Her daughter has gone into labour and she is her birthing partner.

As I was awake at 4,WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have finally finished wrapping presents.I started off with beautiful paper and loving adornments, ended with any old gift bag that fit! This is the first year I have wrapped so late and have lost my wrapping mojo.

Mrs I lol at your GS.Poor lad,my son was the same.I was never away from the hospital either,he broke a bone EVERY school summer holiday.

If you are interested in the Christmas story it is on the radio tomorrow, morning and afternoon.I had to re record so sound like Golum reading a story.Google High peak radio and click listen live. The story will also be on the listen again feature from tomorrow too.

My daughter is visiting later so will get her to post some Christmas
    pics ala Canadian blogger.

    Not long now:T

Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.

May this Christmas bring joy and love to your heart and soul, and may you start the New Year on a beautiful note. Wishing you the best Christmas and a safe and happy New Year!

  • Well done those who are all ready for the big day, and oh, oops, to those of us who aren't. l am still undecided as to what to give DS1 for his Christmas dinner main, either asparagus and red onion tartlet, or Swedish style veg balls, but the rest of us are having turkey, even the fussy kids will get turkey dinosaurs and that is my final word, (probably, l think)
Storm Barbara is battering mercilessly, rain coming down in torrents, and l have just been out and delivered my last lot of cards locally, and enjoyed it, (cos its not so cold).
Now, carrot and coriander soup for the brave swimmers, (
ds1 and the 2 nibs) then they are off to the trainer shop

Merry Christmas Eve Eve everyone! :xmastree:

Finished one lot of wrapping this morning. Will have to have another go either this evening or tomorrow. We have so many presents to send away and very few bags to put them in. I blame the 5p bag tax. :rotfl:

Braved Asda this morning too. Wasn't too bad. We got party food for the annual family party a few days after Christmas. My Mum does the best buffet. :T

Hope everyone is doing well. Not long now! :xmassmile

    Hi everyone,

Feeling much better but have not had chance to keep up with the thread as it is manic stations at the moment. We have all finished work/school and are making the most of it. Hubby did the food shop this morning whilst I finished the cleaning. We went to the cinema this afternoon and have played games this evening.
Need to wrap the kids kindles tonight and bring down the Christmas eve box.
Just want to say I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I thank you all for keeping me company throughout the year, making me feel normal for loving Christmas so much. Have a great time and I will catch up as soon as I can xxxxx
  • Thanks Free, no bruising thankfully, just felt like it.

Well done on the wrapping C

Question.... I've got the boy a bunch of new clothes (5 year old as tall as a 7 year old!) And I'm debating wrapping them. We normally stay at mum and dad's for a couple of days and I've packed the clothes in his little suitcase. I'm just wondering if it'd be fun or just a waste of time to wrap them up. What do you think?

    Hi all!

Thank you for your kind words, last week was a MARE! Finally got to see a doctor, pain levels are evening out, chest freezer finally delivered, renovation of sun room as complete as its getting for now, and my house is semi clean.

Managed to get all gifts bought, wrapped, and given to those we won't see over the festive period, two turkeys sitting in the fridge ready for tomorrow morning (always cook on xmas eve morning as it is mental here xmas day), eagerly waiting for the debenhams sale as I desperately need some new clothes and want some of their xmas wrap and gifts on the cheap. Whilst everyone is unwrapping xmas morning I'm on the tablet shopping and cooking (ten minutes of peace).

Hugs to all that need them, and hoping you have a happy, safe and peaceful christmas and new year, and you get some amazing bargains in the sales ready for next year.
