  • GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh my lovely hopefully it was nothing she was just being very cautious, do you have to wait long for the results?

3rd Jan! Come back to work and get there for lunchtime, at least I will know quickly.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Hello, just popping in to say...... grrrrr....... so far my lovely guests have broken a)tv, b)coffee maker, c)tablet, and d)cooker door. Now they have gone off for the day in my car (not that l mind that) but they took my front door key with them too, so l cant go out to deliver cards as l had planned. All the breakages were accidents, and all but the tv(the not sky box) are repairable by family members or guarantees, and mr TV man is coming tonight to see what he can do. DDIL says she shudders when my DS1 touches anything as she waits for the flash, or crash, or other 'its broken' noise.
DGS1's dad came this morning with DD and DGS1 and while he waited for them to do what they needed he pruned all my shrubs at the front, and it looks so much better.
A gift ordered from M&S arrived with damaged packaging, rang them, they are sending a replacement and said l can keep the damaged one too.
Off now to scrub a floor, and have a coffee, have lovely Christmas, all.
  • GTQ, hope it has all gone, and thet the new year brings good news, and PK, well done you!!

Congratulations Auntie NIC, a lovely addition to the family just before Christmas.

GTQ, that must have been a bit of a roller coaster having the knobbly bits given the all clear and then a question raised by something else. That's good that you don't have to wait long to find out though. My advice would be not to waste time worrying about it, just enjoy the Christmas holidays. If it turns out to be something, worrying won't have helped and if it turns out to be nothing you'll have wasted all that energy worrying.

MANDCO hope your migraine goes away very soon.

MRSINVISIBLE hope your car comes back without anything broken! Hope DS1 isn't involved in the Christmas cooking lol.

Had a good day today. Did the final Santa Paws drop off (a big one), my sis has taken DGD's flatpack dressing table to give to my DD tomorrow and is bringing DGD back to stay with me and we've finally got our house back because all the boxes have gone! To cap it off we had a lovely lunch and afternoon with honorary DD and her family so I feel like we've really started our Christmas.

Thanks everyone. I'm just so happy for my sister as she is an IVf baby, the one they never thought they would have. Her name is Libby.

Fingers crossed it's all good new GTQ

I need to stop buying! Maybe I shouldn't have bought so much early on. As I keep seeing stuff. Today I bought a 2 wheel scooter for £5! It was a good Zinc one. But I think I'll put it past for DD's birthday.
I still have some wrapping still to do. I need a time that the kids won't disturb me. This is when I wish I had a lock on my door. I need to drag the washing basket infront of it to keep them out lol.

Im a bit worried about this storm, Barbara that is due to hit over the next few days. It's to hit us in the west of Scotland and the North. They say 90-100mph winds and loss of power. What if I can't cook my turkey? I planned to do it xmas eve morning. But so tempted to do it early and freeze it in gravy. I can always use the camping stove heat it up lol. X

  • Oh Mrs I I don't envy you with everything being destroyed! Maybe play the oven mitt game and tape oven mitts to his hands.

Well done on your Santa Pass mission peppa.

GTQ hopefully you'll be getting more good news in the new year, but for now you can enjoy your Christmas time. New year will be here soon enough.

That's a lovely name Nic. I usually buy extra and hide some for DS's birthday. Not this year though, which is odd.

Well done Free! We're all sorted bar buying a side of salmon tomorrow. Don't want to buy that too far from the day it's needed. Lol.

Dentist done, but I'm still numb and feeling a bit bruised. DS is very happy for seeing his cousins and apparently was very good at the hospital and kept talking to a poor woman in the waiting room. Haha, oh dear. Last day at work tomorrow thank goodness. I've totally lost my work mojo! Although I'm pretty sure that I will be desperate to go back before long. I love my son but he is suffocating.
Started the pre-christmas clean today, might do a dot tomorrow and then the bulk on Saturday.
Hope all your plans are coming together.

GTQ- as others have said try to relax a little and enjoy Christmas (easier said than done I know). How is your Mom btw?
Auntie Nic (!)- good news about the job
Free- those rocky road look scrumptious!
Mrs I- my DS was like that whenever he visited anywhere when he was younger- I used to dread the inevitable phone calls from his friends moms casually mentioning something he had accidentally smashed etc. He is miles better now (although still has his moments!), although his life long speciality has always been to find the dog poops in the street and bring them indoors on his shoes! Its supposed to be lucky- maybe for him but definitely not for me who generally has to clean it up! Hope your car is still intact!

Peppa- if you have enough room to swing a cat now that the boxes are gone, I have one that I can send round for you to practice with- just don't let him near curtains cus he decimates them!

Everything is done now and bought with the exception of cream, milk bread etc, we will pop out for those tomorrow. I still have to pop a few neighbours cards through their doors but all the others have been distributed.

If anyone wants to daydream a little of a white Christmas have a look at this http://warrengrovegarden.blogspot.co.uk/

Its a blogger that I follow in Canada that has the most gorgeous home (and a tea set for every occasion by the looks of it). She blogs the different looks of her home and garden which is set in a truly lovely part of the world. She has a fairly formal ( if basic) writing style but the photos are stunning. I wish I had her garden complete with lake and boathouse!
Its little light relief from the stresses and strains affecting us day to day x
