GTQ, I just feel awful for the kids. The sad thing is that they'll see their home life as normal and unless guidance is given it will perpetuate with each generation. I understand the difficulties social services have (to an extent). We get all manner of requests to us, that are really not what we can do as we simply do not have the training or expertise, we can only do what we do and explain that we can not do more because that's when we run the risk of doing more harm than good. Another request came through today and I said they need a mediator, not a vicar who knows neither party. That was said to the vicar, not the requestor... We are lucky in that our village is rather affluent and we don't tend to have much in the way of social issues, of course there are still things, and I often know more than i wish, but generally there isn't much. I think we've had 4 requests come through that need more specialist social care, and they are usually new to the area, or just passing through.
Happy birthday 3fortheholidays!
Oh free fibromyalgia must be miserable. I was diagnosed with ME a few years back, but I'm mostly ok now. I can only imagine how frustrating and horrid fibro is. I know 2 people with it and they're so different. One lady in her 80s and she's always smiling and sometimes has a stick and now gives in to my bullying and insisting that she rests for a moment before setting off home and another lady in her 40s who is often angry, and sad. She has a few other conditions too, and I so feel for her because I would be angry to be in such pain. I don't know how the older lady stays so positive.
I've posted my parcels, so grandma, aunt, cousin, brother, brother's girlfriend and grandad are all done! I've gone over my Christmas budget by £14.76, although that's fine as I had cut this month's budget from £120 to £60 and I'm under budget with everything else, I have £64.11 floating over from last month to cover overspends and all my shopping is completed, including the stocking fillers.
Oh, and not only am I being paid Christmas eve eve (I have said it isn't necessary, he can leave it at the usual date, it makes no difference to me), but I'm getting a pay rise and it is being backdated to July, so I have a wee bonus in there too. That said I need to ring hmrc as it'll affect tax credits so although I won't be that much better off it is more my money and less tax credits, which makes me very happy.0 -

FRAN i dont get angry at the fibro as it wouldnt get me anywhere its just annoying that i cant do some things now that i have always been able to do and it seems to be getting worse really quickly. But i am lucky i have so much support from the kids and that is a massive help, as i say to the kids it is what it is
3FORHOLIDAYS glad you have had a lovely day
