Morning!
Boots order to do today, the final one of the year. I need toiletries as well as gifts so might as well smush it all in one.
Its snowing here (we are the foothills of the pennines) and it is proper fat snow! It rained earlier so it isn't sticking, but its pretty to watch.
Stay wrapped up all!0 -
Morning everyone, i have woken up feeling horrible this morning, im not sure if it is my colitis or just something else

I haven't posted on this thread before but thought I'd better join in, I'm being abnormally organised this year and sorting all my Christmas stuff out early. I can't talk about it with my OH because it drives him mad :rotfl:
Almost all of my presents are bought, just a few stubborn ones left to get and I might start on my wrapping tomorrow.
I must say it feels good being so organised!0 -
28 hours to go, and counting! Feel as if l am on track, though, thank goodness for lists. Hotel has a super cold room, where all the completed stuff can be stored, Fave cous has the responsibility of getting the dress and the cake there. fave niece has the make-up to do, so l think l'm getting off quite lightly. All excited and revved up now.0

Popping in here for some light relief as I'm writing an article for work about testing animal faeces - don't ask.
Anyway not much to report really. Wrapping hasn't arrived yet so not starting on that. Really trying not to spend more money. I have no need to but keep seeing lovely things. Had some really cute earrings arrive today which OH bought for me - sheep with a santa hat on.
mrsinvisible - Hope you have an amazing day. Sounds like everything is order so just enjoy yourself now
fairy lights - Welcome, I know feeling. Most people I talk to excluding the lovely people on this thread) seem to prefer to ignore that Christmas is approaching and get a bit grumpy about it.
free - Hope you feel better soon.
DomRavioli - Had some proper snow this morning but it's all drifted away literally. Just damp and gloomy now.
Vulpix - Enjoy Oxford and have a good weekend.
Chrissy - No idea where or what Oswaldtwistle Mill is but it has the cutest name.
Pixtotts - Same here with sleeping pattern. Wonder if it's the cold weather.0 -
If anyone is thinking of visiting Oswaldtwistle mill DONT what a serious let down. 2 hrs driving through blizzards and hail for expensive trinkets and overpriced out dated clothes, had a meal before we left but i think Dds fish died of old age! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. PEPPAPIG here although it looks like I'm not PEPPAPIG anymore I'm now MRS-H!
Having a weird experience with this board today. Clicked on as usual (I leave it open all the time so I don't have to log in each time) but today it all looked different and I wasn't logged in. Realised I'd forgotten my password when it wouldn't let me log on so did the 'forgotten my password' thing and it's changed my user name. I don't want to change my user name! I've also lost all my PMs and my signature! I hate it when things like this happen, I don't like change being forced on me! What makes it worse is that I can't even find an email to contact anyone, just stupid FAQs!:mad::mad::mad:
Too cross at the moment to focus enough to reply to posts so will come back in the morning when I've calmed down a bit. Assuming I can get back on tomorrow of course.
Sorry for being grumpy everyone, I'll be better tomorrow. I've actually reported my own post in the hope that one of the moderators will pick it up and get things sorted out for me but I'm not holding out much hope.0 -
Ok I've calmed down now and I've decided MRS-H is ok. Apparently MSE has connected me to an old account I had in 2009 but as I can't remember my password for PEPPAPIG or which email address I had at the time I'll stay as MRS-H now.
Welcome to the thread FAIRYLIGHTS, you're in the right place for all things festive!
Welcome THRIFTKITTEN, your mum's window display sounds lovely.
GTQ and FREESPIRIT and anyone else with unwanted visitors, I hope they go soon, it's horrible knowing that something is there. We had a little guest last year and got the pest man in. I think the little blighter might have come from next door as we covered all holes and the man put poison down. The poison wasn't taken but we never heard from our lodger again. Hope he's not rotting away somewhere!
VULPIX have a lovely time in Oxford, wrap up well.:)
MRSINVISIBLE good luck with the wedding, it sounds like everything is well in hand. You've all done so well getting everything ready. :T
CHRISSEY sorry to hear the trip didn't live up to expectations, it's horrible when that happens, especially when you've made so much effort to go in the first place.
Been into the woods today's to collect some supplies for my reindeer challenge so hopefully will get it done in time if the rain keeps away.
I've decided to go with the 'reasons why I love you' pressie for DH. I think he'll appreciate it and I've come up with lots of reasons now so it's all good. Going to pop to The Works later (all being well) to get either a handmade type book and I'll add a reason to each page or a wooden box to decorate and put a card in for each reason. I can't take credit for the idea but I am happy to steal it lol.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.0 -
PEPPAPIG here although it looks like I'm not PEPPAPIG anymore I'm now MRS-H!

Are you my mum? we always refer to her as Mrs H:D:D
Sorry your day was carp Chrissy.
May be having joy with the lodgers, not counting my chickens yet, but think I may be getting there.A smile costs little but creates much0
