Sorry to hear about your home town GTQ. Awful thing to happen. I'm also from a sleepy town and we had a family murder a couple years back and it really shook the whole town. Hope the son is ok.
Thank you to whoever posted the card factory elf stuff. I went today and got the cute elf post box, elf reports, some cards and also the fairy post box too for DD(5)'s stocking. my eldest is 11 and still believes in Santa and the elves. So I want to keep that alive as long as possible, I assume this will be her last year believingor maybe she will be like me and ever stop believing

Good point NIC, I still firmly believe in Father Christmas and nothing will change my mind. My two DDs believe too even though they've children of their own. I'm hoping the little ones will keep believing too. DGD is totally believing in the elf. I asked her if any of her friends have elves visiting them and she said yes one girl did but she said 'I don't know if hers is a real elf though because she's allowed to pick her up and they lose their magic if you touch them so I think she's probably not real and just a toy'. Bless her, she's 7.
Thanks for the birthday wishes DOLLYROCKER.
MURIE nooooooo! Finished on day 2!!! I haven't even got the bits I need yet (assuming I do what I'm planning to do). As you've mentioned drying we're obviously not doing the same thing but we're not out of the woods yet, could still end up with the same ideas.
I'd be up for the Christmas Card swap too - can't remember now who mentioned it first and offered to organise it (I think they did anyway lol).
Had a lovely lunch today and DD2 drove up to join us too which I didn't expect so that was a lovely surprise. The DDs bought me a fabulous pair of Irregular Choice shoes between (In the Nick of Time in blue if anyone knows the make). They're fab. I don't like all the IC shoes, most are too wacky for me although DD1 is a devoted fan and has some real humdingers. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

GTQ O dear that's dreadful. It is a shock when it's someone in your own community. I am sorry.xx
Great news about the improvement in your hearing.I also have tinitus but tune it out.I only notice it when it changes pitch or frequency.
I have decided on a reindeer craft. It is something I do every year and is very simple.I will have a bash at a stocking craft. I need to get out to buy some Christmassy fabric ( and snowballs ) Can't see being able to go anywhere till next week as Mr V working all week and all weekend.I do miss having my own car sometimes.
Made a very nice pumpkin soup today with my 20p pumpkin from morrisons.
Loving this cold weather.

Hi all!
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. Saw the GP today, he's not a happy bunny, so its more meds for now, whilst I wait for a referral back to my neuro and osteo docs (I've been under them for 13 years!). Might be after xmas.0 -
Hi everyone, Well done on last months Craft challenge everyone, some fantastic makes.
This months craft is ............ Reindeer
Remember anybody can join in, you can do any craft that includes the months theme.
Happy crafting xx
A Reindeer theme - that's got me thinking............ after lots of head scratching I've decided to knit dgs a reindeer jumper. He's only 17 months so shouldn't take too long to knit - only thing is his big brother and sister will want Xmas jumpers as well :rotfl:Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Quick update, Aladdin was amazing, it was just what I needed last night. If you get the chance to see it, the set is outstanding. The genie was hilarious, but we were saying afterwards that Aladdin & the princess didn't really have great voices, some of the other cast had far better ones. We were so lucky to get there on time, traffic horrific then it was all held near Downing St so that the police outriders could escort the Columbian president with his entourage. Kids enjoyed seeing that!
Update on home. State pathologist has indicated that it was murder, attempted murder and suicide. We may never know what happened, just hope that everyone can come to terms with it, their son comes through his injuries and that all eventually find some peacee.A smile costs little but creates much0 -

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
GTQ that is so sad and how awful that if the son makes it through he's going to have to live with that knowledge. Makes you feel very grateful for what you've got, things could always be so much worse.
Thanks for the Costa and Starbucks heads up LAZYSHEEP. I've heard good things about the mint hot chocolate so will aim to try that. Wish they'd do salted caramel hot choc as well as latte. Unfortunately I don't like Black Forest gateau so that ones wasted on me.
Wearing my Christmas bracelet now so def on the countdown to the big day (and the one before which is my favourite). Planning to get rid of the last geraniums that are still flowering in my tubs and window box over the next week, take the chance to clean the windows while the box is empty and then put the wooden reindeer back out (after a bit of tlc) and plant up a Christmas/winter themed window box. Despite all our hard work earlier in the week the back grass is once again obscured by leaves so will have to rake them up again! Gardens are lovely but they're blooming hard work! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
