Get well soon JJ!
The house has been de-Christmased and it is back to work tomorrow for me!
Need to start looking at summer holidays as I need to have something to look forward to as next Christmas is too far away!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

GTQ - please give JJ my very best wishes, she's such an inspiration and tackles everything so we'll surely she must be due for some easy times now. I do hope she's feeling much better very soon and that she'll actually get a lovely, pain free Christmas this year.
LAZYSHEEP - I'm very jealous, seeing the northern lights is number one on my bucket list. Have a fabulous time.
Lovely day with two littlest DGSs and fab news from honorary DD - her scan today confirms baby is well and she's 14 weeks, due 5th July. Still a bit apprehensive but I feel like we can start buying little bits for her new baby hamper. Consultant also thinks it's a little boy but another scan in 4 weeks should confirm. Good news for 2016 at last. :TIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Welcome to all the newbies, I hope this year is better than last year. I was ill over Christmas with a bad cold and cough and it still hasn't gone. I treated myself to a kitchen aid as I have trouble with my hands and the kitchen aid will help me as I love baking. I got it in the red and managed to get £40.00 off due to a price match and it was on sale anyway in JL and on top of that deal get a free attachment.:rotfl: I make a new Christmas decoration for the tree or for the home every year for my mum and grandma. I already have an idea; jingle bell wire stars. I saw them in a high end shop for £12.00 each:eek:: but I thought I could easily make them and save some money. I have got all the materials and it will work out just under £2.50 each once made. I haven't hit the sales, I browsed online but this year I couldn't see anything worth buying. I have put new pages in my Filofax ready for gift ideas this year birthdays and Christmas. I just need to do new spreadsheets for birthdays and Christmas presents. I have cut two people out to buy for this year so will save a bit of money. I have also collected a fair amount of points on my loyalty schemes even though I cashed them in just before Christmas. :j£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480

Gettingtherequickly- please tell JJ-' please please get better soon and come back on here and inspire us all with your bravery and determination. xx'
Well I have spent the last hour getting pet/car and home insurance quotes from numerous cashback comparison sites- Im all quoted out now but think I have got the best deals I can. I will leave it a few days then go back in and check them through before I commit.
Took the tree down today- room looks massive but bare. I have put a small led blossom tree on a side table where the tree was so it doesn't look so empty. I'm sad cus the tree is down but pleased cus the rooms look tidy again.
DH started his new job today - we both had a sleepless night last night mulling over what today would bring, so hopefully we can get a good nights sleep tonight - I for one feel like I am running on fumes!
Hope everyone is ok, take care xlovin' this site!

Murie hope your husband enjoyed his new job today.
JJ wishing you more time at home this year and a break from treatments and hospitals.xxx
I agree about needing something to look forward to,I am going to Amsterdam with DD1 in a few weeks. We are looking into going to Canada in August to see ds.As dd2 is still at school it is sooooooooooo expensive in school holidays.Think she would be a bit upset if we went without her!I am having a bit of a do on Sunday in celebration of my Mum's birthday and another do at the end of the month as dh is in a panto and will do some food for friends who are coming to see it.I am already thinking about what food to make for Easter.
Mrs M I am also taking ages to pack up the Christmas decorations.I have sorted some for the charity shop.I have waaaaaay too many still.
The builders are coming back tomorrow, just the back door to brick up,plastering, refit the kitchen, new cooker and then flooring. Then its replaster our bedroom, hall.stairs and landing and I'm good to decorate!Oh and new carpets and flooring.I was going to have fitted wardrobes in our room but decided not to to save money,am after a wardrobe on eeeeebay.
Free darling, where are you? Please come back.you are such a good friend to everyone here,I miss you.xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you, not sure if this link will work but he's on YouTube as the sabatouer my fave is his version of Mackenzie the knife, but I like some of his Frank turner covers. Be aware some have strong language so be careful if you click on a song you don't know:o
I can't get the link to work and my search bar isn't turning up anything, I'll have a proper look laterprincesskitty - I'm off to Finnish Lapland for a winter adventure-type break. Think husky sledding, reindeer, snowmobiling, northern lights (weather dependant obviously) etc. We haven't had a proper holiday for about 6 years so now that all my studying is over we decided to treat ourselvesI may be slightly excited and not entirely sure how I'll get to sleep tonight...
Anyways keep well everyone and I'll be back next week to catch up on all the news
Wow! I hope you have an absolutely amazing time! It sounds divineGettingtherequickly wrote: »I'm back!
Happy new year to you all. Hope Christmas was a wonderful, stress free time for you all, will catch up reading tonight.
Thanks 3 for getting the new thread going, you lot can't half yack! I didn't expect to have this many pages to catch up on so quickly.
Welcome to all the newcomers, we are not that mad here. Hello again to the lurkers who have de-lurked.
Most of you will know what a tough time Jess has had. Had a text from her nye and poor darling has been back in hospital since end of Nov, has had 4 ops as developed an infection in shunt, hoping to be out soon. She amazes me, all the issues she has and still remains positive. She still reads when able, so I am sure you are all with me in yelling "GET WELL JESS"
Well, better do a bit more work, at least first day back is going reasonably quick
Thank you so much for the update! Jess I know you're reading and I just wanted to say big hugs and well wishes to you. I truly hope that 2016 brings you some much needed good health. You really are a blooming inspiration to all that are fortunate enough to know you. I hope you and your Mum had a nice Christmas too xxx
Free, I was hoping you would have posted in the few days that I had been AWOL. Do I need to send my Chihuahua's round to kick that BD's butt?! Please be kind to yourself my lovely xxx
Well we ventured into Ikea yesterday to pick up the last of the nursery furniture  We came out just shy of £260 lighter BUT we had kindly been given money gifts for baby, birthday's and Christmas, so not a single penny went on the card (just as well as it's just tipped into the red ). I was a bit annoyed as part of the reason we went instore is that we were supposed to get a 10% discount with the ikea family card, we didn't! What the small print didn't say was that it was only on certain sale items and even though the bulk of furniture we bought had a tiny amount of money off, it didn't count! By the time we paid for food (criminal not to eat there) and petrol (it's an hours drive away!) we would have paid the same getting it delivered. However we did enjoy the mooch about and managed to get some finishing touches for the house. Plus the walking actually seemed to help with my aches and pains! I have put my fitbit back on and I'm planning to walk up the hills to the post office later, wish me luck!
