  • Happy Sunday everyone. I've made an executive decision to have one more day of not leaving the house and just chilling and the last of the ironing and washing. .... until the next lot but hey!

Nic2075 fantastic find with the rock band well done

Moneymission will look at some of the stick lights have a small one that won't fill the gap but it needs something good idea.

Feisty what a compliment to you being hired out to another business. I'd love to have one of those mini houses but my stuff would swamp it.

The sun holidays are starting soon I might book one of those.

I'm watching ET and going to try to menu plan for slimming world.

Hope everyone is safe from all this horrid weather x

Well its a soggy Sunday in this corner of the Midlands, been out for the essentials. Picked up 40metres of Christmas wrap for £4. So that will be plenty with what's left from this one. I'm pleased that's one off the list already. Just want to find a couple of packs of 'grown up' cards now. I hardly sent any cards again this year as I was so disorganised and discovered all I had were tiny child-like ones. Next year must do better!

Feisty you stay out of that shed and loft until bubs is safely in your arms please!! Things like that will still be there once you and baby are settled into each others lives.

Right, chores to be done, menu to be planned, back to reality tomorrow

mrs-moneypenny your New Year's Day sounds like Christmas day! It sounds really lovely, and I love the fact your DS can sing and play the guitar for entertainment

8 Feb 2013 - Guitar/ Vocal cover of Mumford & Sons' I Will Wait (Sabatouer Version)

Thank you, not sure if this link will work but he's on YouTube as the sabatouer my fave is his version of Mackenzie the knife, but I like some of his Frank turner covers. Be aware some have strong language so be careful if you click on a song you don't know:o

My sister is doing the money jar saving thing... 19 year old student sounds a good idea. Till you realise I am the one with a 1p jar I've been saving for years, guess where her pennies are coming from! Hmmph!

I am too but a little less strictly, when times are hard I'll put the right amount but while they aren't I'm dumping whatever change I have in there/what I find while tidying.

mrs-moneypenny - he is brilliant! I am subscribed :D found his cover of my favourite song :Dhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xchiy_8sEKw
I really wish I could play the guitar, or cello, I just like the way they sound lol

Todays mission is to get my desk sorted, I've not done any work for 2 weeks and it's become a dumping ground :( x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry I'm a bit late to the party.

FEISTY, MOVE AWAY FROM THE SHED! I know how you feel wanting to get on with stuff and not being able to but it will all still be there when you're ready. Rest while you can, there will be little enough chance when mini-Feisty is here.

PRINCESSKITTY, whereabouts in Bedfordshire are you going? My DD lives in Moggerhanger, a little village near Sandy and Biggleswade. We're just over the border in North Bucks.

MRSMONEYPENNY had a view of some of your DS's videos, I like his voice, it's even nice when he's just speaking. I liked Counting Stars too Pixtotts.

Hats off to all those that have found bargains. I ventured out on Thursday to pick up an order from River Island and Milton Keynes was manic - I just couldn't think straight so came home again pretty sharpish. I'll pop out this week for a mooch when everyone is back at work. I think I must be getting old lol.

Have got DGS (3) all day tomorrow instead of just after pre-school as DD is back to college but the schools have a teacher training day. Hoping it doesn't rain in the morning so I can take him out for a nice walk through the woods with the dog. Will hopefully wear him out and means it'll only be an hour before we leave to go and collect his little brother (2) from nursery. Then we go back to theirs where little one may, if we're lucky, have a nice nap and we play or watch Blaze and the Monster Machines/Jake/etc. etc., until Mummy comes home. It'll be lovely but I will undoubtedly be shattered by the time we get home. :D

Have a fairly routine if unpleasant (and very undignified) 'procedure' to look forward to this month plus another couple of medical bits so will be glad to get the first few weeks of January out of the way and get on with 2016. I'm trying not to wish my life away and live in the moment but finding it difficult until this is out if the way. BABYBOO hope you're feeling better now.

princesskitty - I'm off to Finnish Lapland for a winter adventure-type break. Think husky sledding, reindeer, snowmobiling, northern lights (weather dependant obviously) etc. We haven't had a proper holiday for about 6 years so now that all my studying is over we decided to treat ourselves :D I may be slightly excited and not entirely sure how I'll get to sleep tonight...

Anyways keep well everyone and I'll be back next week to catch up on all the news :)

Morning all lazysheep your holiday sounds fab, hood you have a great time.
pixtotts and peppapig, thank you for the kind comments about my ds1s singing, I am rather proud of him. Sometimes when he's at work I will put sound of his youtube tracks on to listen to, but then I am baiased.
Going to take the tree down today and get Christmas boxed up, Dh and ds1 are back to work today and I'm back tomorrow so can't delay it any longer.

    Have a good day all.

  • I was thinking of doing the 1p jar thing today, I saw it circulating on facebook and thought it was a great idea. My OH wanted to do £1, then £2 up to £31 for January and then start again from £1 in February, so I might leave him to do that as he earns a bit more money than me :)

What a wet, miserable day it is today! Totally not what I wanted on my first day back in work. I could hear the rain all night and when my alarm went off this morning I just wanted to switch it off and stay in bed.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. I'm going to focus on other things now to keep me going until I can really start getting excited for Christmas again, in like June :rotfl:. We've got our family holiday to look forward to in July and we're thinking of booking a weekend away in March or April, so I'm going to look at that today.

I hope everybody's day goes as well as a miserable, wet January day can go. I look forward to keeping up with everybody's year again in 2016.

    Happy New Year everyone xx

Sorry I have not been on combination of being mad busy, daughter being unwell and my back really playing up have prevented me from having a spare minute.

Hope everybody is ok. Son and hubby back at school/work today so its just me and dd. She has been up the past 2 nights with a hacking cough, sore throat and temp. A day relaxing for her today and Im going to do some ironing and a little organising. Tree is still up but cannot put it away on my own due to my back still giving me hassle. House looks like a bomb has hit it, washer is on, need to hoover, clean change beds. May wait until tomorrow when I have the day free. Have not been into my local town for a proper shop on my own yet, looking forward to it. Have got a couple of things to take/send back so will sort those out today and get the receipts out.
    Hope everybody is ok xx
  • I'm back!

Happy new year to you all. Hope Christmas was a wonderful, stress free time for you all, will catch up reading tonight.

Thanks 3 for getting the new thread going, you lot can't half yack! I didn't expect to have this many pages to catch up on so quickly.

Welcome to all the newcomers, we are not that mad here. Hello again to the lurkers who have de-lurked.

Most of you will know what a tough time Jess has had. Had a text from her nye and poor darling has been back in hospital since end of Nov, has had 4 ops as developed an infection in shunt, hoping to be out soon. She amazes me, all the issues she has and still remains positive. She still reads when able, so I am sure you are all with me in yelling "GET WELL JESS"

Well, better do a bit more work, at least first day back is going reasonably quick :)
A smile costs little but creates much :)
