We have just had a lovely dinner. Christmas is 80% packed away... dh left a number of items out so i'm gonna have to find a storage box and shove them away until he nexts decides to venture into the attic lol
So thats that.. all done and dusted for another year.. 344 days to go until the pretty lights and naff decs appear again (though the shops will be june at the rate they are going lol)
No plans for this year at all... no big events really. dd1 will finish college... what holds next for her is anyones guess. i'm hoping to decorate again we'll see lol.

Feisty - I'm jealous now because I've got lots of decluttering to do but have just sat on my butt all day not doing much at all & now wish I'd decluttered something!
Well onwards & upwards, I'm trying to start my year even more organised than last year. I've started my budgets, I've started making meal plans & have ordered some shopping to be delivered so I can just have a weekend of tidying & batch cooking.
Apart from that I have been keeping an eye out for any bargains to put stuff away for Christmas 2016 but not finding much, so going to just leave that for a while and instead concentrate on saving a bit of money every month ready to start shopping again later in the year.0 -
Happy New Year to everyone. Myself and the OH just had a chilled night on the sofa with some buffet bits and some bubbles which is quite a novelty as he's worked quite a few of the previous ones so it was nice to actually see him at New Year.
Had a nice lie in this morning then have taken down all the decorations (I like to leave them up for NYE), put them away, rearranged the lounge and got all our clothes ready for our holiday next week so I don't go back to work for another 12 days :rotfl: Will be flying off just as my colleagues go back to work haha!
Just going to enjoy the next couple of days not having to watch the clock etc and plop in front of the tv to watch Sherlock tonight.0 -

Hi all
Happy New Year
PrincessKitty29, what a lovely sentiment on your post for the coming year.
My only resolution is to do what makes me happy- Sounds very selfish but as my Children are now adults, I think I should grab life while I can- A bit like Emily Bishop!!!!
Peppapig and Mojoworking, I don't know how to upload photos. Maybe I need to learn how to and add to the elfilicious pinteret board.
Freespirit. It is always a shock to be told you have an illness that is permanent. If this is difficult for you to come to terms with, you could ask your GP for a referral to a Health Psychologist. They do what it says on the tin
Well, the tree is gone. I bought it 20 years ago and it has done it's last duty. I have left the fairy lights and some of the decs out but at least the sitting room is back to where it should be.
Going to have a mooch in the shops in town tomorrow then off to lunch with DH.
This is my “Golden Year” along with my school friends so there re lots of plans with family and friends. I will keep you all updated.
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0 -
Happy new year everyone !! Hope you all had a good night? We (DH and myself) and a nice quiet night. DS went to bed around 8, and so me and DH watched a movie, which i harldy ever do, and then watched Jools Holland. There were loads of fireworks here, but had all stopped soon after!
Feisty ... How good does that cupboard look? I intend to start a de clutter next week once DS is back in school and DH is back to work. Toys have taken over practically every room. We have been so lucky that one of my sisters has been passing on toys tha her children have out grown, but they hace ended up every where!
Lazysheep... How lovely going on holiday? You sound so organised, chilled and relaxed already!
Xxxxxx0 -
just a quick one to wish you all a belated Happy new year hope everyone had a lovely evening however your celebrated
Tc all & catch up soonthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Happy 2016 to all.
Feisty - pantry looks fab, do you do home visits, and could you extend your organisational skills to a playroom please? ;-)
Very early start for me. We went to bed far too early last night and dh woke up at 3am and decided it was a good idea to switch the lamp on and read. Hence we have now been sat downstairs for the last 2 hours.
We decided to host a small NYE party, just for people on the close that dh has got to know since we moved here (he is the sociable one, myself and dd1(15) were absolutely dreading the party, and the idea of "strangers" - but it was a huge success! The 4 couples/families invited all turned up, everyone got on really well.
Dd1 has made friends with the girl next door who we thought was much younger, but is actually only 15 months younger than her! And dd2 had a blast with the younger sibling, who is the same age (8).
They are all at different schools, but have already got the whole of 2016 holidays planned out together!
And I actually managed to relax, enjoy myself, and speak to people! Dh was very proud of me (I'm really not usually good in social situations). We felt quite honoured that it was almost 3am before the last guests left - we are obviously quite good fun to be with lol.
We have decided to make it our thing, an annual NYE party! Bad news is, it has given me another reason/excuse to spend - I have decided we need entertainment for our next party - so will be putting together a family games night hamper for xmas. If anyone can recommend games suitable for ages 8-60 ish it would be a huge help. So far in my amaz@n wishlist are exploding kittens, pandemic (more for just us to play) and rapidough. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
We used to have a game called Humbugs which I lent to someone and never got back.Easy for all,you basically have to hum a song/tune and others guess.:0
