Free- that's not nice news to start the new year with, but as everyone has said- you have a name for it now so can hopefully start to manage it a little. Has the GP pointed you in the direction of any support groups? You know that you have a big warm support group right here- we may not understand the implications but there's a lot of shoulders on here that you can have a sniffle into when you need it! An that is meant really sincerely x But do you know what struck me most about your post? The fact that above all the worry you must be feeling right now , you still brighten up at the thought of having Thumper, he brings out the positive in you x That's a true nanny in my mind!
Nic- Im sure you will be fine in our new job- sounds like you're putting the right plans in place getting the kids on board by meal planning.
Peppa- her limp isn't as bad today so I am convinced I am right. I took her for about a 100m walk as she is stir crazy- she adores the rain but I don't don't ! At least she has a bit of fresh air. I had a bad night last night cus I was worried that she would want the garden in the night as she had' been' and I didn't want to risk her coming back down the stairs - according to my fitness tracker I had 1 hour 34 mins sleep last night so I went to bed for a nap this afternoon- three and a half hours later I woke up and feel so disorientated now! I rarely sleep that much in a row on a normal night!
MrsGigglewick- its a lovely idea to raise a glass to you DH best friend.
Princesskitty- you are so right- when children are little you don't get a chance to be under the weather yourself! Hope you start to feel better soon- you have your Emma Bridgewater stuff to look forward to ( I agree it is lovely!).
Lellyo- hope you feel better now and that you haven't got this stomach bug that everyone seems to be catching.
Vulpix- enjoy your dinner/dance. Im back on the weight loss wagon next week too- haven't been on the scales but Im sure they will groan under the strain when I do!
Hope this new batch of awful weather isn't having too much of an impact to everyone here- I feel so bad for those whose Christmas and New year has been affected.lovin' this site!

Free - not a great start to your new year, but as others have said, hopefully now you have a diagnosis, it may help to get you the support etc you need. Sending hugs xc
Nic - good luck for the new job. It's a big change isn't it, but I am sure it will be better for you all once you get into the swing of it. When my hours increased to 30+ hours last year, it took a good few weeks to get into a routine, I was constantly shattered, the house was a mess, and we lived on freezer food
But 4 months on, its fine. I pre-cook & freeze meals, have a quick clean every evening so I'm not left with it all of a weekend, and our time off together means so much more, we truly cherish every day of weekends/holidays. Plus the extra income is a huge help. I'm still only supply, and actually dread them cutting my hours back. The head teacher confirmed before we broke up that my hours are safe until Easter at least, so I'm hoping to finish most of 2016 Xmas shopping, and stock up on clothes for us all to last summer & winter, before then - just incase :-)
MrsGigglewick- what a lovely idea x
Princesskitty- hope you feel better soon x
Vulpix- I too will be jumping on the healthy eating band wagon come Friday. I'm aiming realistic, I want to drop a dress size (currently a 16) and maintain it throughout the year. Enjoy the dinner dance.
Another couple of xmas gifts purchased today - 3 Lego chima figure sets for dd2. Just £4 each on amazon.
Lego is a safe bet with her, and I'm aiming to spend 2/3rds of her budget on it, its all she ever asks for, and the only thing she really plays with. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Thank you all for your lovely well wishes, I am starting to feel better now – my sore throat seems to have finally eased. DH put Wiggle's toy kitchen together yesterday (our big Christmas present to him) and it was lovely to see his reaction! He broke out in a big smile and has been playing with it ever since! Bless him, he's had a kitchen, a hoover and a cleaning station for Christmas which he loves – i'm guessing by the time he's 15 and knows what it's all for he'll have a complete aversion to it! :rotfl: We're going to John Lewis this morning to exchange some boots my DH gave me for Christmas, we went on Tuesday without thinking and it was heaving! We left pretty swiftly! So we're going to go back first thing today and hopefully it'll be quieter.
Clumsy oooh how exciting graduating! Well done you for when it comes! I know we shouldn't have regrets but one of my biggest ones was not going to university. I got accepted into lots and just didn't go. I hope one day I will do a degree when Wiggle is a bit older.
lellyo yes do it! It's nice cooking new meals and fun doing stuff from Pinterest, a lot of it I would never have thought of. How horrible waking up with stomach cramps, that doesn't sound pleasant at all, I do hope you recover quickly.
msgigglewick i'm sorry to hear of your DH's best friend passing, how awful. It will take time for him to get over it, hopefully he will enjoy raising a glass to him tonight.
nic it's natural to be nervous about a new job but I bet you will be great at it! The first day is always nerve-wracking but after a few weeks you'll be a dab hand! I do a meal plan every week and it really helps, not only so I don't have to rack my brains for ideas but also it's easier to stick to a specific list and not waste food.0 -

and i have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, its really upset me as i just thought the pains and nerve pain was temporary symptoms of the menopause but this is for life, i will have to take painkillers everyday now and it also explains my 3 hours a night not being able to sleep, anxiety is linked as well, ibs, headaches oh god it really has shaken me up! On the plus side i did manage to get some diazepam for my anxiety so that will be good to know i have a safety net, i will only take it as and when i need it. And the irony is i have come off my ADs and she said they are good for pain :rotfl:So if i dont come on for a bit you know i am feeling sorry for myself, ive got Thumper in the morning that will do me a world of good!
Free, firstly a big well done for not escaping the doctors! I'm so sorry about your diagnosis, but as others have said you at least have an answer as to your symptoms! Please find some support groups online, my cousin has fibro and it is a wealth of support and also tips for managing and easing symptoms. Big hugs to you lovelies!princesskitty29 wrote: »Oooh I just can't seem to shake this virus! I guess when you've got a little one you don't have time to sit and rest so things linger around. DH is at work today, although work for him is in our spare room so he says he'll be around a little bit which makes me feel better! I went to town yesterday and picked up a bracelet in the Accessorize sale for a friend's birthday and a pack of Christmas cards from Sainsbury's for 25p! Although i'm going to try to cross stitch the bulk of my cards for this year. I picked up my Boots order but unfortunately i'm going to have to take a couple of things back, that's the only problem with buying online! DH and I got some money for Christmas and I did treat myself yesterday on the Emma Bridgwater website! I got a couple of the pink hearts crockery but also got some lovely Christmas mugs and plate that I loved. I know it's a bit extravagant buying Emma Bridgewater but I do so love her stuff and I don't indulge in many other things. Plus I always buy from the seconds, they were on sale plus they had an offer of 6 for 5 so it was way cheaper than normal.
Sorry you're still feeling poorlyI really hope you improve soon!
I have been so lazy this week! The kids and I have just played with games and watched tv. We did go out on a bike ride yesterday, but that's the most ive done lol.
Tomorrow I plan to gut the house and give it a good clean for the new year.
We have no plans on Hogmanay except wine and nibbles in the house. Probably bring in the bells and be in bed by 12:30am.
Usually on New Years day we have a hm steak pie. But this year we are having roast beef as we got it on our muscle food christmas hamper. I do love steak pie, but very rarely have roast beef, so will be a nice change.
I'm feeling nervous starting my new job next week. I have been waiting to start it since the end of October. The council were pretty rubbish at getting the refernces and paperwork sorted. I'm so used to working in a pub, this time it's as a dinner lady.
I need to be more organsied at home with meals. I tend not to do a big shop and pick stuff every day or every 2nd day. But I won't have time now. I'm going to sit with the kids and get them to tell me each a meal choice, then make up a menu/meal plan for the week.
Off to get a copy of Woman magazine, there is a voucher of SW joining fee. I need to get back on it as Put on over 10lbs over the Christmas period alone :-O
Good luck with the new job and I hope this evening goes as well as can be expected!
DH is currently rushing around gleefully packing away Christmas items, my very own Mr Grinch[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I am not making resolutions but I am planning to stop eating sweets/cakes and crisps.
We are making a list of things each of us want to achieve in 2016 and putting them in an envelope to be opened next NYE hopefully there will be some successes.
All the best for 2016 .
