Welcome to the thread BARGAINBUNNY, you've found the best place to be in the run up to Christmas. Welcome back CARLISLELASS.
CHRISSY the quilt cover set is beautiful, wonder how long it'll be before you put it on? Glad you found a nicer vet, I hate it when people are always trying to prise mo ey out of you, makes it uncomfortable.
VULPIX my sister bought my BIL a super penknife thing last year, I think she got it at the garden centre but I'll ask her to make sure. I know she got the wrong one to start with and glad to change it! Wonderful news about the wedding. Def don't take your challenge to craft club, they obviously have no taste lol. I think I know what I'm doing this month although I suspect I won't be the only one doing it.. I keep culling the Christmas decs each year as aiming to stick with my vintage style ones now but I do so love buying them. It's just finding somewhere to out them away that I hate. I don't keep them in the loft now in case DH isn't well enough to get up and get the when I want to put them up lol.
FREE I remember Millets but I think they went the way of Woollies and all the others, unless they just close their stores here. Consultant was fine, I think I get quicker in there every time. When I go to the desk to make my next appointment even the receptionists say 'wow that was quick' lol. Still I'm taking it that if I'm in and out they can't be that concerned about the deferments! I've found the past couple of years the YCs don't seem to smell as much. The IKEA t lights are good although like a lot of them they're much stronger in the packet than alight.
SAMMYKAYE love that your little one now wants her own tree - get them hooked young is what I say lol. My DDs are all grown up now with littlies of their own but the Christmas mania is still strong and being passed on. If you can't get a nice pink tree (though I'm sure you will) you could always go for white with pink decs.
I cut my Christmas jumpers up to make cushions last year! The one I really want is the Cath Kidston one from a few years ago which was pale blue with a big old fashioned Santa face. I almost bought it in the outlet shop once but I didn't and I've regretted it ever since. Keep your eyes open for me PINKSTEPS.
I was supposed to be having a day in today as have a busy day tomorrow but have to go collect a parcel and visit the bank now as I stupidly locked one of the bank cards yesterday and the machine ate it! Have to go back today to retrieve card and send off for new pin!
FEISTY hope things are ok with you and yours. RUTHHONEY if you're about have you had any news from JJ? MURIE you're quiet, get back on here quickly!
Well, I've finally finished my jingle bells challenge so just have to find the photo posting instructions and I'm done. Hopefully can post it in a mo.It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Peppa I love the chair and yes I will look out for the jumper. Walking Ted this week I bumped into one of the chaps who works in our local outlet and he said they are getting old Christmas stock in soon. Poor lad now has my mobile number and under strict instructions to message as soon as he knows more.0

I didnt think of that! Good thinking Batman!
And I absolutely love the chair.....Im trying my best to wrack my brains for things to make for this months challenege so I feel an evening on Pinterest is only appropriate! :-)
Well I went shopping this morning for a few last minute bits for the kids starting school and noticed in B&M that they have started putting out their Christmas paper and bags as well as a few of the little smellies sets they do. I did notice a nice little set that was bath bits and pieces and a pair of slippers for £3.99 which I think I might get for my mother in law as a little present for her - she usually gets a teddy and a DVD as well so I think a hamper is in order for her although I usually leave her to my husband (her son) but I know for a fact it will be a Christmas eve dash if I do. Shes border collie obsessed so it wont be that hard.Time to find me again0 -
Peppa- I've been here all along but not had much to say since my rant. Love, Love Love that chair lady- you have talent! The script looks good, my scrawl resembles a pre schooler! ( I am educated I promise!). Glad the Consultant went Ok, your DGD will be over the moon with a grown up dolls house. I still haven't started my Christmas room yet, I haven't been in the 'zone' for tiny construction.
Welcome all newbies and returners ,its always good to see fellow Christmas nutters!
Ive got to admit I have fallen out of love with tins of sweets. They used to be a staple of Christmas , but I think its probably better value now to buy a box rather than a tin as they keep shrinking year on year. (I will most likely still buy about 4 tins though lol as standby gifts!)
Vulpix- Amazon for pen knives? Lovely news about the wedding and keep craft ideas away from that craft group- what do they know about craft anyway lol?? Is Mr V still in one piece?
Free- your baking looks good on IG, Im going to make those scones tomorrow when I am more in the mood. Besides the kids are all out today and if I make them I might be tempted to eat them all. Yup its definitely more autumnal weather today- roll on the morning frosts I say!
Pinksteps- is Teddy at full strength now? Took Ruby to vets yesterday as I thought she might have a tick on her leg, turns out it is a skin tag! She is forever in and out of the stream and running through long grass in the park and it worries me in case she picks something up as her fur is so thick.
Sammy-kaye- hope your dog is still feeling perky for his /her age x
I had a YC advent calendar off my lil sis last year and tbh the tealights only give out fragrance to about 2 feet away. It was really poor value I felt.
Peppa- I bet those jumper cushions were fab! DDs BF bought a Ralph Lauren jumper from Bicester last October and washed it on 40 degrees and it shrunk. No matter how many times I let it hang sopping wet it still would have struggled to fit a 7 year old. I suggested to my DD that she make it into a cushion for him as part of his advent calendar from her. Much as I love her, a domestic goddess she is not! I have a hilarious video on my phone of her cursing as she was struggling to sew the jumper into a cushion shape one night!! Im going to keep that for posterity and have a little giggle to myself whenever I watch it.
OK Snow it is! I have had an idea, just have to figure out how to put it into practice now!lovin' this site!

Can I pick your brains please ladies???
I brought red fleece a few *ahem* years back to make stockings for the kids with - but instead my mother in law brought them Xmas sacks and they all match so instead I was thinking of using the red fleece to make a family advent calendar or some sort of wall hanging but I am really struggling to think of things/ ideas to put into it for the kids/family to do
Our local park does a festive deer feed, and decorating the tree, baking, making decorations, the elf arriving are all givens and Im thinking a film at the cinema or panto, film night, walk to see the christmas lights, the town lights being turned on etc are all good but is there anything Ive missed? or anything else you can suggest?? Carol singing isnt really done here.
My kids are the giving kind hearted types. My boy Ben is a scout so he is really big into helping people and has taken part in lots of 10K walks/ hikes to raise money and awareness for things like MacMillan etc.......Theyve been saving all the pennies they have found or change from their pocket money and have the intention of splitting it (maybe depending on what their is in it) and half going to an animal rescue (we have two rescue dogs) and half going to the local food bank in the way of them going shopping and buying things they need.
Im completely confuzzled as to what else to add to their calendar thoughTime to find me again0 -
In todays Daily Mail and possibly tomorrows there is a coupon for £5 off in House of Fraser, no minimum spend, might be useful for stocking fillers. HTH0
