Thanks for the penknife related information.Trouble is it's his birthday in October as well, even my daughter has no idea as to what to get him,not telling her about the penknife idea or she might pinch it!He is the sort like my husband who if he needs it he buys it.Beer again I think.
Peppa I'm listening. That chair is beautiful, have you done the writing freehand?
Murie I was just reading your post asking how Mr V was as he dramatically limped into the room with an apparent sock related injury to his toe.He was quite bemused at my howls of laughter at his plight.
I think tescooooooooo had little pink trees for about a fiver.
Am off now to drool over John lewis decorations.
Sammy when my children were young we used to walk/drive round to look at peoples outside decorations. There are lists of things on the pinterest elfilicious board.HTH

Vulpix - Oh thanks I will have a look. She has the small box room so nothing too monstrous for her!
freespirit66 - I like the picnic idea. I think we also might make some bird feeders for the winter birds that are still about. My son really wants a bird table nearer to Christmas so they can help fatten the birds up and we are lucky to have a lot of birds of prey flitting about in our neck of the woods too so could make for some interesting bird spotting.
I thought about going on walks in the BER months with a flask of hot chocolate and finding pine cones etc and then bringing them home to dry and make decorations with......we also have lots of Holly bushes scattered around our village too.
Pinksteps - I hope your Teddy is feeling better now.
Murie - my old boy Bruno is 17 but still acts like a puppy and looks like one. We regularly get asked how old he is and Im sure they expect me to say hes only 5/6......hes doing well for his old age. Amazing what a good dose of love and a happy home can do for a rescue pup :-) he was 4 when we adopted him! :eek:Time to find me again0 -
Hi Flowfy here.
Been busy, but have posted before on here, but a while ago.
Organised for Christmas as in food menu and what i need to make and prepare food wise. Also I have a few presents put by, but mainly for my daughter who has moved into her own home with her boyfriend this year.
As usual struggling for present idea's for DH and DS who is 17 and is into gaming and is a musician.
If you are thinking Utility knife, I can fully recommend a Victorinox Swiss Army knife. (amazon...or tobacconists, i have noticed). My husband worked in Switzerland for 6 years and his landlady, had had her victorinox for 40 years and it was as good as new and she used it for cutting wood etc, all the time. We all bought one (and i have since bought them from amazon for other people). they are brilliant.
other than that, i am crocheting christmas presents for my 7 cats and my daughters new kitten. I discovered, after they raided my autumn display of crocheted coloured pumpkins that it might be a good idea. So i am watching youtube and following along
PS. that chair, Peppapig, is amazing. If you ever sell them, let me know. It is glorious. xx0 -
Morning all!
I have had a busy baking session since last night when I made scones and gingerbread dough and this morning baked said gingerbread dough into chunky little gingerbread men (my lot like them soft and chewy). I also made a Japanese soft cotton cheesecake- I don't think its been too successful as it doesn't look or smell too good, I will drizzle a little salted caramel sauce over it before I serve it to see if that can rescue it- Im not holding my breath though tbh. Phew I'm worn out already!
Vulpix- oh how men do suffer, sock related injuries can be so traumatising!!
Sammy- I really recommend a bird table! I get endless joy watching the numerous birds on our table- just make sure its away from fences/trees etc where cats can get them. I love the idea of making bird fat balls etc for them. What breed is your little Bruno? Im sure Poundland had pink baubles etc in last year, some beautiful vintage theme ones too (but glass so not suitable for a childs room just in case they break).
Peppa- have you dragged yourself away from the dolls house? What are you planning for it? Modern/Victorian/themed?
Free- Im with you about YC- they seem to have really reduced in quality .
Princesskitty- are you mega busy with moving preparations?lovin' this site!

murie bless you for always thinking of me! Thank you. I don’t understand why I’m busier than I used to be – I used to be able to get on here every other day but I never seem to find the time these days! I visited my parents during the week this week though so that took up a few days.
I really need to crack on with my Christmas shopping but I keep looking at my list and actually a lot of it I need to go to the shops for and some of it I can’t get until all the Christmas stuff comes out. Hopefully that won’t be long now! I’ll find a day soon that I can get someone to watch Wiggle whilst I pop to the shops.
DH and I are SO excited as we get to go into our house on Monday! We won’t complete still until the end of September (hopefully) but they are letting us go in and see what it looks like so far. I’m really looking forward to seeing what our tile, kitchen and flooring choices look like!
It’s been really lovely to see all of the jingle bells crafts, you clever lot! I have a large cross stitch project that I’m trying to get done for Christmas so I don’t have much time to dedicate to anything else, but I did get this idea done I saw on Pinterest when the jingle bells theme was announced:
Not technically a proper craft but it is jingle bells!0 -
