Hay-lo-ho Mrs I frantically waving at everyone! Sorry, jingle bells are now jingle ballz, not finished, in fact, although l have designed the pattern l have only done the back so far! Have been busy in the garden, and picking blackberries at DDs.
Peppa yaay, another one down. Go you.
Migraines are horrible, my sympathies to the sufferers. l used to get them, but realised that as the menopause progressed l had fewer and fewer, and rarely have them now.
Had DGN again yesterday, she is a year old now, how the he(( did that happen? Had to go shopping for food today, the cupboards and fridge look a lot better covered now. lt was either that or wash them out, and l feel like being a lazy mare today/this week/year,
Fave coz has just dropped off a carrier full of plums from her garden, so plum jam and a boozy crumble are waiting to be constructed. And now that the garden bin has been emptied l can fill it up again at this time of year l could use another couple of them!
now off to get DGS an appointment for a haircut and buy him a new bag for school, (why do they wait till the last minute to tell you that they need stuff?)

  • Looking for suggestions. As you know, I have been (on behalf of charity I got involved with) helping a single mum. Dropped off a gift card today, as her benefits were stopped, because she had not let them know her new address, they actually wrote to her at her new address to tell her this:rotfl: Anyway, she didn't ask, but I also gave her some cash so she can sort out uniforms, she was so grateful, had been panicking, especially as she doesn't know when she will have her benefits reinstated. While I was driving home I was thinking, correction decided, that I will sort out something for the children for Christmas. Have ordered hoodies, hats, scarves & gloves, which I know will be appreciated by mum, but would like to get other things. Any suggestions for 8 & 13 yr old boys? They are like their mum, grateful rather than wanting, so there is scope for practical & pleasure.

GTQ - just a few ideas that popped in to my head. Board game, box set of books, DVD, gift voucher for Amazon so they could choose something together, a Lego set that they can both build together or a box of assorted Lego (you can buy boxes of the stuff secondhand on ebay which is cheaper than buying new as you will get more for your money), maybe something outdoorsy like a football & goal set or basketball hoop and ball. I'm trying to think of things that are suitable for both ages rather than specific for one or the others age.

Hello All, I've been awol for a while as I've been so busy! Hopefully calming down a bit now but then we go on holiday soon and then when we get back I will be in full Christmas mode.

Did anybody watch Bake off last week? I enjoyed the first episode and looking forward to tonight's episode. I'm so tired today though so I think I'll be going straight to bed once it's finished.

I will catch up with everybody at some point but just wanted to pop in and say hello to everybody.

Plumduff and Free- those are both lovely crafts! I like the fact that we are all doing different interpretations of the subject.
Mrs I - ooh I love plum jam! Its not as sweet as strawberry etc which I like (I know, I know, same amount of sugars etc). Oh back to school haircuts are another thing I don't miss! DS always used to find something to moan about when he had his, dunno why as it was the same hair cut he had any other time of the year and it was always fine then!

    Hi Money Mission!

04624181- sounds as if you have had a very busy few weeks, enjoy lunch with DS tomorrow.

  • DS said he knows the best place to hang these at Christmas, in the cupboard under the stairs :rotfl:

I made them whilst sitting up with a poorly dog one weekend hence the boring colours, only wool to hand.
Must admit everyone's efforts towards the subject are unique and plenty of ideas. Such a good little project to dip in and out of every month

I'm loving the pics of the jingle bells challenge, they're all fab. FREE did you think that up yourself or did you see it somewhere, I'd never have thought of it. Had to laugh at your DS's suggestion PINKSTEPS, difficult though when you can't pass it off as being tongue in cheek. I love them though and bells are often brown. PLUMDUFF the stocking is lovely and the fabric is almost vintage now lol. Fab that you've used it now though. MURIE going to follow the link to see yours now.

Please can I be allowed to post my pic a bit late? The ribbon arrived today but the bells aren't here yet and I still need to do the lettering! I'm useless at the mo but it's priority number one now so fingers crossed I can post my pic before the end of the week. Next month I'm going to be !!!! hot and on time lol.

The wooden spoon is lovely MURIE, you could do lots more and make a wooden spoon wreath or garland! Or you could just hang that one in the kitchen lol.:D
