I am hoping that is the last diagnosis of this year :rotfl:i will rattle when i walk now! I also have B12 deficiency and have to go on a course of folic acid.
My sister has had UC since she was 7, she's 36 now - steroids really do help with a flare up! They make you a little strange but they do work. A strict diet can help as well, but each case is pretty individual and unique. Thankfully, it can be treated.
Hope you're feeling better soon.0 -

04624181 how are you feeling now?
MRSINVISIBLE haha i love your DGS choice of present bless his heart! :rotfl:
ALLTHATGLITTER i love making hampers too, they always look so pretty with everything in them
oh free! you'll be knowing more than the dr's soon xx my younger brother has had UC since about the age of 14 (probably before that but only got it sorted at 14.... he has had a rather rough ride with it all.. won't go into details... he's 35 now and works as an anesthetist/teaching odp students etc still has his rough days but once its all under control and you know what causes a flare up etc im sure you'll be ok xx
Really sorry i haven't read back further than this page yet and not around much... forgot how much time a 6yr old takes lol my oldest girls are now both working full time... well dd2 is during the holidays.. so im left with dd3 (14yrs) and dd4 to entertain lol
Christmas shopping is going fab! managed to get dd3 an iphone 5s the other day for £149 (from giffgaff, preowned, but to be honest you can't tell its not new at all)she has no clue shes getting it. Also started to get a few silly things for stockings.
dd1 is having some tests done - shes not too good but its not stopping her working ... they are now looking at lupus/celiac/thyroid amongest loads of other things. only trouble is she went to have the blood tests done last week and no blood came out :S they tried 3 times and nothing... so sent her to the hospital who scared her something cronic (she suffers with anxiety and has a needle phobia, the nurse was a bit of a battleaxe and dropped the needle making jess jump because it stabbed her arm then had the cheek to have a go at jess for it)so we are waiting for the massive bruises on her arm to go down before they can attempt to get blood again for the 10 tubes of tests that need to be done lol
Other than that nothing much in life has been happening.
shall read back now but hugs for those who need them and Mincepies for everyone!:xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:Totally debt free wohooo 2014

Yay, welcome back MRSGIGGLEWICK, sorry to hear about poor DD, makes you wonder why some people go into the 'caring' professions when they're obviously not suited to it! Hope the bruises go soon and she's able to have the blood tests.
FREE my DH takes 16 a day excluding painkillers and the extras that get added in when he's poorly but you soon get used to it. At least now you have diagnoses so you can start to understand why you feel as you do and like the others have said you'll soon get to know what triggers flare ups for you and how to avoid them. Just make sure that you don't put off phoning the doc when you do get one, the quicker you get the steroids into you the better. Be brave little FREE we're all here to support you. (Can only get the basic smilies so please imagine an appropriate one here) X
ALLTHATGLITTER I love doing hampers too but am running out if people to do them for!
I've ordered some Christmas decs so looking forward to getting them. I also had a look on Pinterest last night to get some ideas for the Jingle Bells challenge but nothing struck me. However, I've remembered I have a lovely little Christmas makes book so I'm going to dig that out in a mo and see if anything inspires me. Had DSD here today and made a trip to the Cath Kidston outlet store so a good afternoon was had by all (well her and me lol). Feels a bit chilly this evening, I've actually got jeggings and a jumper on (and socks!).It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone,
DOMRAVIOLI aww bless her! The consultant said to me it wasnt diet related its your bodies immune system attacking bacteria that it thinks is bad but it actually isnt ?? He still thinks my stress levels are to blame and i think he could be right because i had really bad pain this morning and it disappeared once i was at the hospital???
MSGIGGLEWICK oh that is young the same as DOMRAVIOLIs sister someone said to me it usually is a young persons disease. The iphone was a fab bargain, aww poor DD1 i hope they find out what it is quickly, my blood always used to pour out when they did blood tests but all of a sudden it wont now and they are in out in out with the needle, i thought i had a lot to fill and it was only 4 vials, goodness your poor DD especially with a needle phobia, i hate it when the medical profession are so unprofessional she should have been bolstering your DD up not having a go at her, she must have been so upset!
PEPPAPIG i have just counted up and it will be 12 a day without the folic acid and probioticsi have already had to buy one of those pill boxes with the days and times on like my nans used to have because i get so confused :rotfl::rotfl:there really is no hope for me!! Ooh what sort of christmas decs have you ordered are they to go with your vintage theme?
FEISTY been thinking of you and yours i hope you are all ok x

Free, you have been in the wars this year, hopefully you will start to feel better even if you do rattle when you walk.Doh,I found PM's from you today from nearly a year ago.I am so sorry, you must have thought I was rude! The rabbit on its previous stay after which it was never staying again, blew my beautiful baby blue smeg fridge up! He also blew up the Christmas tree lights and chewed my floor length curtains.NEVER AGAIN.Nice to hear that your son's OH fits in with the family. My son's previous GF was lovely but she never "got us" when we were all together. His present GF is just like me but much, much posher!
I have been to my craft club today and my jingle bells idea was met with a poor reception.I have looked on pinterest too and nothing inspires me.Back to the drawing board.
Might be awol for a bit as Mr V's Mum taken into hospital this morning.

Oh Free if it's not one thing it's another. I do not know much about your diagnosis apart from the B12 deficiency, keep an eye on that because that is the cause of my and DS's pernicious anemia and the reason we are now on the injections. I too have had Feisty on my mind.
Will be glad when this year is over, I had a call earlier today to say my second cousin was taken into hospital yesterday and he died today. He seemed as right as ninepence at the beginning of the week, his normal pompous self (in a loveable way). It's given me the kick I needed to embrace life full on.0 -
Mrs Gigglewick- your poor DD, sounds as if someone needs a refresher course in patient skills. Hopefully once she finally has her bloods done the results will bring answers that lead to the right treatment for her x That phone was a real bargain bet she will be over the moon with it.
Peppa- is the chair finished yet? Glad you had a lovely time at Kath Kidtson store, she is an addictive designer isn't she?
Free- sounds like you are right abut it being your stress levels contributing if not causing it. On the whole though it sounds as if you are beginning to mage them miles better- look at you even phoning the clinic!! 3 months ago you wouldn't have done that so that's a big plus in my book x
Vulpix- hope Mrs Vs mum isnt too serious. We will still be here when you have time to get back to posting x
Pinksteps- I am with you on that - I will be glad when this year is over (although touch wood it has been better here just lately) Are you and DS still feeling well?
I have been watching a bag for DDs Christmas present on Zalando, but haven't bought it cus I was waiting for survey money to come in. Its finally come in and and now the flipping price has gone up by £30! Im mad about that but will bide my time in the hope it comes down again.
I too have been thinking about Feisty and Baby Boo. I hope all is well with them and that they are just too busy to post rather than anything else.lovin' this site!

FREE I second what MURIE has said, this time last year you wouldn't have been phoning and attending appointments like you are. You should be very proud of how far you've come.
VULPIX that rabbit sounds amazing! Can't say I'm surprised you'd rather not have him next time lol. I did laugh at the lack of enthusiasm for your project at your craft club though. I too am having triuble with inspiration but I think I've found a little knitting project of a reindeer to start me off.
PINKSTEPS so sorry to hear about your cousin. It's so true that none of us know what's in store for us. Like you I'm trying to make the most of life and embrace every day.
MURIE the chair is almost done, just need to decide on fabric to cover the seat. Might post a progress pic later. It's actually turned out to be quite Christmassy lol. Sorry to hear about the bag but hopefully it'll come back at a better price soon.
DOMRAVIOLI I forgot to say welcome back to you, nice to see you posting again.
I too am wondering how FEISTY and MRFEISTY are getting on and really hoping it's just a busy life that's stopping her posting. BABY BOO are you still following the thread? It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Peppa- you are psychic! I looked on a different site (psyche.co.uk) and got it for less than I was going to pay on Zalando! I am soo pleased- £155 and I paid £85.88 after using paypal monies! Iam so pleased!lovin' this site!

OK, this is going to be a long post no doubt as I have literally been and caught up since last week, phewww!
MandCo – Your new puppy is so cute! Congratulations on being Nan
Plumduff – I would love a dog but I don’t think I could pick the p**p up either :rotfl: Those Christmas jumpers are really good!!!
Vulpix – Oh no your poor DD and her friends getting their tent slashed! I’m glad that they didn’t get anything stolen. He is going to Torronto first I believe, but when they get there they are dropping bags with his MIL2B and off to Jamaica for a couple of weeks to see his fianc!s grandma and explore a bit there.
Allthatglitter – I am wondering if to do a beauty advent calander this year instead of my usual yankee one after seeing you mention them. Any recommendations where to get the best deal on them?
Peonysugar – Christmas day we usually split between both mine and DH’s family. Lunch with one and tea with the other and then alternate years I have also had them all to ours and cooked (if just to get a break from eating two dinners haha). Luckily for us it only takes 10mins to drive between both parents houses but for those who would have a longer commute or those with step parents and have to pick I don’t envy them the decision.
Chrissy – Thanks for the B&M yankee heads up, may have to nip and see if I can find these for my cousin.
pinksteps - Fab bargin for DS in TXxx with the coat! So sorry for your loss.
0462 – Yaayy looking forward to deciding what to craft this month. Maybe will have a sneak on Pinterest to give me some ideas
Murie – I know I shouldn’t laugh about the pizza oven, but this is something that would happen to me :rotfl: hopefully the kitten doesn’t attack the wrapping too much!
Peppa – Glad treatment is going well and DGD is making some good progress with shopkins by the sounds of it
Princesskitty – Glad you had an excellent time for wiggles birthday. I’ve never been to Butlins but I bet it will be so lovely, especially if there will be a lot of activities geared towards the little ones.
Free – Sorry that it has been a distressing time with dr’s. It feels unhelpful to say but at least now you have been diagnosed you can begin treatments/medications to help.
Mrsgigglewick – What a horrendous experience at the hospital for your DD1!!! Hope the bruising goes down really soon and the next person who tries to take her bloods is much nicer!
I have been trying to get all my cleaning done this weekend and have been putting my food shop order together on Asda so that I don't have to go out on Saturday. I am hoping to spend my day off tomorrow and Saturday doing lots of decluttering - I need to be ruthless and get organised. I often bit at it or think 'I'll keep that it will come in handy' and then low and behold its 1+ year later and it's still never moved :rotfl: I've got to nip out for a couple of hours tomorrow morning but then i'll be straight back to tidying. I haven't done loads in the way of Christmas just at the moment, but I am hoping to get stuck in again next week.
I can't believe that some of you have finished your jingle bells craft already, I haven't even started  ....although saying that I've just had an idea with something I had left over from our wedding...
Right, time to crack on with what else I have to do today.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
