Princesskitty- I hope Wiggle let you have more sleep last night and that today you feel more rested and a bit brighter x

peppa- aww that's lovely of you but her birthday is on Sunday- thank you for the offer x.
I just wanted her to have a perfect birthday as she has had such a horrible time just lately. She wrote off her beloved mini last week- went into the back of a taxi (who's brake lights weren't working!) and both she and her boyfriend were a little hurt and very shaken (mainly from the airbags deploying). She had her hand strapped up and this week at the fracture clinic she has had it splinted, but she goes on holiday next week so she isn't happy about that. Then after her appt at hospital we were sitting chatting and her front tooth broke- she has to have a filling on it tomorrow so that's not good either, and as she has been signed off work for 4 weeks she will be short on money when she wants to buy a new car. She having a real run of bad luck at the mo. So I want her birthday to be extra special.

You sound as if you have a busy day planned but try to have a bit of a rest in between x

Free- are you feeling any better today? Yup meds can cause cystitis, get the kids to bring some cranberry juice in on the way home from work as it really does help.

Off to try to rescue the cake which still looks like it has a bad case of acne.

Take care everyone, enjoy the day x

FREE I hope all is well today but if not get back onto the doc, you're putting up with enough without that too.

MURIE I'm really sorry but the idea of the acne cake is making me laugh :rotfl: I do hope you can rescue it and I'm sure she'll have a fabulous birthday after such a crappy time. My DDs would be amazed if I made any kind of cake let alone an edible one. I do admire you bakey people, I'm more of an eater than a baker!

On a sort of cooking note, our new microwave suddenly stopped working on Wednesday evening  Fortunately we bought it from AO so DH rang them yesterday and a new one is coming tomorrow - phew!

Is it wrong that I really want to add 'buy a caravan' to the challenges list in my signature? I think DH might be coming round to the idea though.

Just found out littlest GDS has an unidentified rash so DD is phoning docs at 8. Hoping it isn't contagious or I won't be able to go over there this afternoon :( keeping fingers crossed its an allergy or something similar.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

    Hi Christmas crazy friends,

Kids finish here today so I am running around like a loonie! Missed a dog groom apt yesterday so need to ring and apologise as we were looking at cars after husbands hospital apt and lost track of time. Got physio at 9.45am then dd finishes at 2.30. Got to do food shopping and clean house. Fun fun fun lol x Just reserved some more Design a friend products online. DD won an award at her prizegiving assembley for highest achiever in reading for Key stage 1 and her school report is amazing! Question is do I let her have this design a friend that I have already bought and buy her another for Christmas?

Treasurequeen- Nice bargains from bodyshop and thanks for the info on the glass hearts they are lovely.Love wilkos for their stationary. Yes we have a home bargains near us, its my 2nd home. Will keep getting a few bits and putting them away.
Mrsinvisible-Aw bless, glad the GF visit went well. So many of my friends and school mums are complaining about Tax credits making HUGE mistakes! Some ladies have been in tears and had sleepless nights because of it. It is so unfair.
Peppapig-I too am not clued up on Instagram. Sorry to hear about your blood results. My husband takes immunosurppressant drugs for Ulcerative Colitis and has had very low neutrophils the last 2 blood tests. Every silver lining… gives you a chance to get 2 vintage cabinets lol. I too would love to see before and after pics of the cabinets. I loved the other one you did.
Free- I had a nice restfulish day, you know there is always something for us to do. Sorry to hear about your cystitis, cranberry juice is good or the satchets for cystitis form chemist. The snowflake cutter/mould is gorgeous. I have to actually achieve making my own mince pies one year! Lol x
    Pinksteps-thanks for the Instagram info.
Newthrift- my husband is driven potty by lists. I list everything,
Chrissyg- I love halfcost, I did place an order last week. Only half has been dispatched so im hoping the rest is not out of stock as it was for Christmas gifts. Glad dd enjoyed the toddler group.
Murie- My hair use to be the same, I have long very thick hair so curls would fall out instantly. I then discovered Tresemme heat defence spray. I spray on dry hair, brush through, curl, leave to cool then run my fingers through and they stay in all day, if not a 2nd day too. Sorry to hear about the Sweet tree. Im sure DD will love it. Your poor DD, I am sure she will absolutely love anything you have done for her as she can feel the love and know how much effort it is to do anything with only one hand.
Lazysheep-Thanks for the link, you are a star x
Fiesty- I do hope you and your family are ok. Love, hugs and prayers xxx

DS also had an amazing report so I am going to treat him too. These kids of mine are so bright but they work hard and are dedicated to doing their work so I like to make sure that I reward them for that hard work and dedication.

peppa I really hope you get to see DGS this afternoon (also that he isn't poorly for his sake as well as yours x) Good news that your micro is being replaced so quickly- ours is an essential piece of kit in the kitchen and I would hate to be without it. Go for it- add satisfying you caravan lust to your signature! (Glad DH seems to be coming round to the idea). Cake is semi rescued- will try to post a pic after her birthday.

04624181- we always rewarded our kids when they were younger at report time - I think its important that they realise that we understand and are proud of how hard they have worked. If you gave her the design a friend doll would it detract from having one at Christmas? ( I cant remember if you have said if she already has any of them). Maybe a joint treat as they have both done so well?

Thanks for the tip about the tresseme, I have very fine hair but masses of it. Its just on my shoulders now as I had it cut,- I will add it to the shopping list to see if it work on me.

Right Im off to see what else I can mess up for her birthday decorations!

Thanks for this tip, I am going to get some of this and give it a try.

Treasurequeen - I ended up ordering some of the glass hearts from Amazon after you mentioned them, they are very pretty and a lovely little gift for a few people.

We've had our daughters school report and it was lovely. I need to think of something that I can do for her to praise her for it. She is so conscientious and although she knows she struggles with some things, she always tries her best and worries if she hasn't practised something enough. However, she is very much like me with reading and is currently reading at a higher level than her age group according to her teachers and her test results. She loves reading just as much as I do, I remember always being ahead of my friends when I was in primary school because it just loved to read. I still love reading now but don't get as much time anymore; I actually have loads of books that I haven't even read yet so I think I should try and make some time to read them and then get rid of them as they are taking up a lot of space. I would love to find a local book club or book swap group, maybe I should think about setting one up myself. Food for thought......

Murie - I'm sure your daughter will love whatever you give her for her birthday and will appreciate the effort you've put in. When you are feeling better it will probably be something you will laugh about but I can understand you feeling down at the moment as it can't be easy when you have something in your head and it doesn't work out as intended.

I have had a few parcels arrive this week that I was waiting on. My yankee candle order arrived so I'll put them away ready for Christmas. I also ordered a few bits from Body Shop and they arrived yesterday. I have had an idea that i'm going to create a 'pink' hamper for my youngest daughter. She loves her toys and books etc but she also loves to have more grown up presents, so I ordered lots of pink smellies from Body Shop and I will add to it throughout the year with other pink things. If anybody has any ideas that I can add to the hamper let me know, she is 8. So far I have pink shower gel, pink lip balm, pink bath bomb, pink hand cream and pink shampoo. I'll get some pink sweets closer to the time and maybe a Barbie DVD, I will have a think about it. I love creating hampers.

MONEYMISSION I love making hampers too - to the extent that I end up with mini-hampers and nobody to give them to! The pink hamper idea is inspired, I bet she'll love it.

TREASUREQUEEN I must have missed the post about the glass heRts so I'm going to go back and have a look.

0462 you're doing really well with the pressies, I need to catch up! Lovely that your children had good reports and def deserve a reward as do all of those that tried hard and made an effort. DGD's report was very good too, she's def made more of an effort this year. She goes into year 3 in September (or first year juniors as we always knew it) - can't believe how quickly the time has gone.

MURIE unfortunately it turns out that DGS has a viral infection (surprise) and has to be treated as potentially infectious for five days after his last fever which was on Tuesday so not out of the woods til after Sunday. Cue two disappointed little boys and one very disappointed grandad! We've decided DH will go over there this afternoon and take my mum (we'd arranged to take her) and I'll chill out at home and see them on Monday. Glad the cake is semi rescued - it'll still taste as good and that's what matters (although that could just be me lol). DD will love everything because you e done it.

Saw consultant this morning and all ok but they're going to reduce my chemo from 100% to 80% which they've said should stop it having to be postponed. Time will tell. Feel in the mood for something festive today so will review my pressie spreadsheet and maybe do some online shopping, oh and have a nap and watch a Christmas film (hopefully not at the same time lol).

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!! I'll be spray painting the cabinets if the rain keeps off.

Peppa - here is a link to one of the glass hearts on Amazon, just to get an idea. Then you can go searching. I think I searched for friendship hearts to begin with, or something like that based on what Treasurequeen said.

I hope your DGS is feeling better soon so you can go visit. My OH's mum had cancer and I remember many times plans had to be cancelled because one of us would be under the weather so we didn't want to risk her becoming ill. I hope they can do that for you with the chemo so that you can get it done rather than have to postpone it.

I have a similar plan to you today once I get home from work. I am going to finally do my Christmas list/spreadsheet of what I currently have, what I want to get and keep it updated from now on and while i'm doing that I will watch a Christmas movie or Christmas episode of something. Funnily enough when I woke up this morning I was getting ready for work and I felt really Christmassy.

Oh and Peppa, I think the caravan is a great idea. Go for it!

free - don't worry about what your photos look like, I don't put photos up very often and when I do they are usually not the greatest. I know how to use the different filters etc on my phone and on Instagram to make the photos look a bit different, but most of the time I can't be bothered :rotfl:. I agree with you though that princesskitty's photos look very good, like they're going to be used in a magazine or lifestyle blog.

I was on Pinterest last night adding lots of new pins. I love Pinterest and go on it quite often but I find if I go on there too much, I see a lot of the same pins for a few days while other people are adding them, liking them etc. So I usually leave it a few days before looking again, so I can find some different ideas. I want to get started on some of the ideas though so that I can get them put away and crossed off my list.

Feisty - I hope things are ok with you and the family.

Sending hugs to everybody and hope you all have a lovely weekend.
