We survived it, the girlfriend visit, that is, nice little lass, about 5' tall, to DGS' 6'1'' little and large comes to mind. Anyhow we must have passed the test as she is coming back next week!!!!
Peppa it is pants when they hold off with the chemo, but it is better for you, and safer. Pleased that you have lots to keep you going, just don't try too hard. xx
Free, oh, no, cystitis is horrible, you could have done without that on top of all you have to deal with.
Lazysheep, thanks for the link. nice to 'see' you.
Chrissy hope DD enjoys the playgroup, as you say it will be handy as it is so close to home.
Feisty, hope it all went well for DH (and you, of course).
Taking DD shopping this morning, and then we will try to tackle the child tax credit fiasco.0 -
DD loved the toddler group and its given her a bit of confidence although she was a little bemused at why one child would chew a crayon ! She came back with rosy red cheeks and a big smile on her face.

Mrs I glad you all survived the visit! My sis and her DH are like little and large too she's 5'2" and he's 6'5"- a lot of people do a double take when they se them.

Thanks NEWTHRIFT, looks like I've got the one I wanted!
MURIE, no I'll be using a shiny paint this time, probably spray paint. The Annie Sloane chalk paint is really lovely to use as long as you don't use it straight from the tin, it needs to be watered down to the consistency of single cream to get the best out of it. It also gets thicker the longer it's exposed to the air.
CHRISSY so glad DD enjoyed the toddler group.
MRSINVISIBLE I have a cousin who is under 5 feet and her partner is over 6 feet. I'm only 5 foot tall but my DH is only 5' 7" . I might put some pics on Instagram if the cabinets turn out ok.
FREE just what you need! Cystitis is horrible, drink as much as you can and don't forget paracetamol for any pain. Hope it soon goes. I only had it once and that was definitely enough! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Afternoon everyone, just a quickie i will be back later, but just saw this and thought it would make a change to make my mince pies with this year

Peppa- thanks for the tips on the chalk paint- I may try it again when the memories of the last dismal attempt fades. Hats off to your talents with interior design.
Free- are you feeling any easier? That mould looks good - mince pies would look lovely on the Christmas table looking made in that.
Well I have officially got my grumps on ! Lil sis txt me that Home Bargains had sweet tree kits for £2.99, so we went and I brought the last one there. Easy thought I- unfortunately the heat and the sweet tree had other ideas! The chocolate I was using to stick marshmallows on wouldn't set and they kept slipping off, I was getting more and more frustrated! It looked beautifully symmetrical at first, now it looks like a granny with her curlers in! I am soo mad at myself cus I was rushing to do it whilst DD was out as its for her birthday. I also thought I could tackle the top layer of her birthday cake- and a bad idea THAT turned out to be too! I bought some metallic gold food paint to use on the whole of the cake and everything I read said to use a natural sponge with the paint to get a good depth and lustre. This looks like the cake has a bad case of golden acne! Its awful! I am so mad/upset/cheesed off with myself that I had to walk away before I threw the thing out of the window! And its all my own fault for trying to be too adventurous with my arm as it is and too stubborn to ask for help! Hopefully it will settle overnight and not look so dimpled.
So I have learnt several valuable lessons today- never listen to that inner voice that says 'going to be easy'-its lying, and never use a natural sponge to create a bad case of cake acne when what you want it a deep golden shine!
Here endeth the lesson- Im off to sulk in a darkened room where I cant cause trouble for myself!
Hope everyone is well, take care xlovin' this site!

Oh my I’ve been tired today! Had one of my worst night’s sleep ever last night. Wiggle kept waking up repeatedly from 12:15am and was calling out for me, he kept going to sleep briefly in between but I didn’t. Eventually at 3:30am I decided to take him to bed with me and I didn’t get to sleep until gone 4am. Then a train woke me up at 4:45 and then Wiggle decided to get up at 6am! So today was a bit of a slog! But I’ve made it and just having a little rest now, going to watch some Emmerdale with DH in a bit.
newthrift oooh I love Emma Bridgewater – as I’m sure you can see from my Instagram! That sounds like a lovely gift. Is your brother moving to Canada permanently? I’m sorry if you’ve said – I’ve got a mind like a sieve these days! It would be a great country to visit!
04624181 that sounds like a great present for your DD.
mrsinvisible Glad to hear it all went well with your DGS’s girlfriend!
Lazysheep yes I think that’s the one! Thank you!
Peppapig I’m sure you want to get it all over and one with but I’m glad you’re seeing it as a bit of a rest! How are you actually feeling with it? The cabinet for your DD sounds great, you’ll have to show us a finished pic! Thanks for the info on the app, I’ll have a nosey.
freespirit on Instagram just post any pictures you want to. I’m still finding my feet with it a bit! It is addictive though, I can find myself looking at photos for ages! I love visiting NT places too, it’s really calming being among all the greenery. I hope your cystitis is a bit better now, it can’t be very nice for you. I love that snowflake mould - you should definitely do that!
CHRISSYG that’s lovely about your daughter enjoying the toddler group.
murie oh you poor thing! I have done things like that so many times! I so often have a picture of how something will look in my head and then when I do it it looks awful! But as you say it might not look so bad in the morning. Fingers crossed!
3forholidays thanks for doing the Instagram list. Haven’t heard from you in a while, hope you’re ok?0 -
I'm fine PrincessKitty! Just nothing much to report.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Oh MURIE, I'm exactly the same, I rush in even when I know I should wait. I do hope the cake is ok tomorrow. Happy to look for another sweet tree for you if there's time, I can't remember when your DD's birthday is.
PRINCESSKITTY you must be exhausted. DD is the same at the moment, littlest DGS has taken to waking up at half past four and wanting to get up so she's getting hardly any sleep. Hopefully Wiggle will soon be back in routine. Could be teeth or a growth spurt or something. I'm feeling ok thank you, relieved to have an extra week but the side effects are much less than I was dreading, mainly having a horrible taste in my mouth all the time and feeling lifeless and tired but for the next few days I should be fine. I was reading the stories of some sort of f the children on the Post Pals website and it really is humbling seeing what they go through. Really puts my situation in perspective.
Consultant appointment in the morning then need to get some more spray paint for the cabinet then off to see DGSs in the afternoon so hopefully lots of Jude and Jackson cuddles - can't wait lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone, thankyou for asking after me, i think its easier tonight although it seems to get worse in the night so i shall see, i only have one more sachet left so i hope so.
MRSINVISIBLE aww thankyou, i hope you got the tax credit fiasco sorted, they make it so complicated dont they  Glad the tea went well with DGS GF
CHRISSYG oh im so glad DD enjoyed her first morning volunteering, and glad it gave her a bit of confidence. Will have a look at the paper as i have run out of Thumpers christmas paper and still have more presents to wrap
MURIE oh honeyyou are doing your best whilst being in pain, dont be so hard on yourself. Get back on it tomorrow after having a break, i have been there and know just how frustrating it is!!!!! I also agree about the sweet trees they look lovely but they are not as easy as they look, although saying that DD2 made us one each for easter and it was so professional looking i couldnt believe it, i obviously havent got the knack
PRINCESSKITTY i have been practicing putting photos onyours look professional, all styled like a magazine
