    Morning all

Had a break through last night with one of DD Christmas gifts. I remembered that she really wanted one of the Design a friend dolls that her cousins were playing with a couple of weeks ago. Its argos version of American Girl/Our generation doll. Had a look online and managed to reserve one at my local store for £14.99 ( reduced from £19.99) The dolls clothes are also reduced so ordered one outfit for now and will get some more next Friday on payday. I did find this though and ordered it too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331842219221?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It is so cute that there is a matching onesie for my DD and the doll. Even though my DD is only 6 she is so tall that she is in size 7-8 already so the onesie should fit her by Christmas.
    x

How cute, I think I might have a look at these dolls for my youngest.

I bought a few more bits this weekend. Yankee candle had some candles etc on sale, up to 50% off, so I ordered a few things from them. They had advent calendars at half price just in case anybody did want one for this year.

I am jealous of everybody watching Christmas TV & listening to Christmas music, so I think I might indulge in a festive episode of something this week. I will have to search Netflix :rotfl:

04624181 - what is halfcost? Do I need to check it out??

freespirit66 - you should treat yourself to some Molton Brown, it's lovely stuff. I get a gift from there every year for my stepmum & she loves them. The hand wash always looks so lovely and special on the sink. They also do Christmas baubles with some body wash or bubble bath in, I have a red one and love it but don't want to use it because it looks so pretty in my bathroom at Christmas. My mum suffers with diverticular disease and also has terrible pains with her pancreas, so I know how it can wipe you out for days at a time and hope you start to feel improvements very soon.

Feisty - I'm so sorry to hear your OH suffering like that. It must be horrible for him to have those thoughts and horrible for you to hear it too. I hope things do improve for you all very soon.

I keep thinking I haven't been organised enough this year but when I was putting the Molton Brown gifts away the other day I realised I've actually already bought quite a few things ready for Christmas, so even if I stopped now I would at least have one gift for each person. Obviously I won't be stopping now though, Christmas planning is just too much fun :j

I do need to start making a list of what I've bought though as I forgot about a lot of stuff I've already bought and the other day I actually almost bought something that I've now realised I already have. Last year I wrote a list of everything I'd ordered, ticked it when it had arrived in the post and wrote who I had bought it for. I need to do this again, so I think I'll make that my plan for tonight while I'm watching something Christmassy.

Murie - my hair is a bit like that. It's naturally straight but with a bit of a kink in it, so if I leave it naturally it looks scruffy, if I curl it the curls fall out quite quickly unless I use enough hairspray to create a helmet or if I don't use hairspray the curls fall so that it doesn't look curly anymore, it just looks messy. Most of the time I straighten it because it just looks neater, but it is nice to have a change sometimes. My OH bought me some Babyliss perfect curl tongs a few years ago, the ones that suck your hair in and curl it within a few seconds. It was very good, the curls did last a lot longer in my hair than if I use normal curling tongs but it takes a very long time and it gives very spirally curls, but I prefer more relaxed curls so if I want to use them I usually use them a few hours before I'm going anywhere so that the curls fall a bit.

We have 167 days until Christmas day! So that means I've got 165 shopping days left, or 160 days if I want to order anything off the internet. It sounds a lot but the first half of this year whizzed by so quickly, I know that it won't be long before we're all on here wishing each other a merry Christmas and in a state of disbelief at how quickly the thread is growing.

  • Sainsburys have Chocolate oranges down to a £1 with the beginning of 2018 as best before. Picked up a couple to put by for Christmas. Also got some lovely black and gold beaded coasters which will do for my Christmas table theme this year at £4 for a set of 4 I couldn't say no! And at the end of the season they will stay out all year round as my living room is art deco.

Peppapig-Glad to hear you had a lovely day out with your sister. I always fancied a caravn myself but hubby wasn’t keen until we stayed in a top of the range caravan with all mod cons. Maybe when my kids are older…..
Nitnurse-not2-I absolutely love B&M for bargains but its even better when they are reduced even further. What a bargain!
FiestyFidget- I am so sorry to hear about your husband and have said a prayer for you all. I hope you have managed to speak to his consultant and hope that it is positive news for you all. Sending love and hugs xx
Free- Everybody deserves a lazy day, a pamper day sounds divine.
Murie- wow that is an early start. At least you have got an early start on your jobs.
Vulpix- I have started writing my posts in word first and then copy and paste as I have lost so many posts. mummy and daughter afternoon tea is going to be a big hit in this house. I will upload a picture of my hamper as soon as I finish it.
Treasurequeen- Hi, welcome back. Thanks for the heads up on chocolate oranges
Peppapig- Im glad you enjoyed Abfab! Cutting your hair sounds like a big step that you achieved and I want to high 5 you! I got my new Christmas notebook out on Saturday and sat and wrote ideas, lists etc etc.
Gettingtherequickly- wow you are amazingly organised. I also say I will make a Christmas cake and every year I don’t. What recipe do you use? The napkins look lovely
Moneymission2015-I picked the doll up today and it is lovely. Halfcost is a bit like a small version of cheaper studio products. Not a lot of choice and it is hit and miss but there are some great bargains to be had from there. Got DD some JLS pyjamas for £1.
Mrsmoneypenny- Cannot believe that summer holidays start on Friday. I am trying to get as much done as possible as 6 weeks with the kids off means I have to turn into a secret CIA agent smuggling Christmas gifts in the house .

Hope everybody is ok xx Chat soon xx

Just to update you all, as we've heard from the consultant. DH is back on his beta blockers and has to take an extra dose tomorrow. He will then send across a heart rate reading (modern technology!) and they will decide if he needs to be admitted for a cardio version again :( They've reserved a bed for him on Wednesday so there will be no faffing if he does need to go in.

I'm worried though as we'd been told by the transplant hospital that every time he gets stuck out of rhythm it damages his heart and could have repercussions for the transplant. I'm trying to be positive and hope he isn't out of rhythm!

Feisty all I can send is hugs, well wishes and lots of supporting thoughts for you and MrF, my heart breaks xxx like the others I'm not sure what else to say.
Free I'm glad you you have a diagnosis :)
GTQ every year you remind me I ought to start doing my Christmas cake :) I appreciate the kick up the bottom :)
Vulpix glad carnival was good, weather aside! We normally do Buxton at night and I think this is the first year we haven't, were there many rides this time?

Sorry I can't remember everything as doing it from my phone!

Well DH isn't back from work yet, and I've already got lunches ready for tomorrow, tea eaten & tidyed away, showered so I think I might actually get my Christmas gift book down and make some more lists. Feeling more organised than last year, but then again I was planning our wedding (can't believe it's almost 1year already!!).

Hugs, hot cocoa and gingerbread (or drink/biccies of your choice) :)
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi all, I had a lovely day on Saturday visiting Waddesdon Manor with friends, a National Trust place. The shop came up trumps again and I found another Christmas present! My in laws recently redecorated their dining room and have hung some lovely pictures of rabbits etc, and I found a 2017 calendar in the shop of the same drawings so I bought it to stash away. I must apologise for my huge post, I know it fills up your feed but I do like to chat with everyone and can’t seem to get on here daily to keep my posts small!

04624181 mini stockings for the table presents sounds fab! Oh your poor DD, it’s awful being ill anyway but so much worse when you miss out on something you’ve so been looking forward to, I think an afternoon tea treat is a great idea. That’s really good of your DH to volunteer at that church event, these things are a lifeline.

newthrift I follow Style at Home, House Beautiful and Country Homes on Instagram at the moment. And then I follow lots of people that post pictures of their beautiful homes to give me inspiration! My name is @rebekahlovesteaandcake.

freespirit I’m so glad to hear your procedure went well. I’m sorry you have what you have but I hope now they’ve got some idea they can help you better. I also hope all of the other results are ok. Oooh I bet I could spend an absolute fortune if I searched for Christmas on Amazon! I might have to try now… Thanks for the gingerbread men heads up, I don’t live near a Sainsbury’s but my MiL goes to one with her mum so I’ll ask her to have a look for me. Thank you for your kind offer. I think it’s great you got those lovely things from the holistic fayre, whatever makes you happy and feel better! I find admiring my Emma Bridgewater mugs cheers me up, I even follow other people on Instagram that post pictures of their EB collections, now that could be seen as sad!

Pinksteps oh no I’m sorry you have all these tests going on! Your words echo mine completely though about how strong everybody is and I don’t always know if I’m saying the right thing!

Peppapig I like the sound of doing something mad and impractical! You’ll have to let us know how your trip to Ludlow goes! Glad you enjoyed the Ab Fab film, I hope it’s still on in MK next week! I have never downloaded a Christmas app, I think there are so many my mind gets fuddled and I don’t know what’s good and bad!

nitnurse I was at my hairdressers once and she had a product I wanted to buy later, so I was trying to write it down and she said why didn’t I just take a photo on my phone with it? That was me well and truly brought into the 21st century!! It’s so helpful to jot things down as you go isn’t it? I always think I’ll remember then I never do! I love the sound of a 3 course meal on Christmas Eve. We always have a buffet on Boxing Day but I haven’t quite got into a tradition on Christmas Eve yet. I hope you managed to survive your sons room!

Oh Fiesty I can’t even imagine how hard things are for you and DH and the constant worry. You poor things. I sincerely hope that he isn’t out of rhythm and that the beta blockers will help him get back on track, sending you lots of love and hugs. xxx

vulpix I can only assume from your posts that you live in the Peak District? We went on holiday there last year and really loved it. We stayed in a teeny tiny hamlet/village called Hollinsclough. Oh I’d love to go back! I’m glad to hear the painkillers are working. Your poor friend, I hope she is coping ok.

Treasurequeen ooh you’ve just reminded me I need to have a look in the charity shop for a Christmas book for this year.

MoneyMission it sounds like you’re doing really well. I couldn’t live without my spreadsheet, I would buy double presents all round if I didn’t update it as I go along! Prime example, I hadn’t been on there for a few months and earlier in the year I bought a ‘perfect’ present for my BiL’s girlfriend, only to find another ‘perfect’ present for her in the box! So I’ve been vigilant since then!

Hi all, me again - sorry! A couple of years ago we put together a list of Christmas songs and Christmas films to listen to and watch, did anyone by any chance save these lists? Frustratingly I didn't and they're not at the start of the thread and I wouldn't even begin to know where to look for them! So I just thought i'd ask on the off chance some body saved them? If not we could always have a bit of fun making them again! Plus i'd love a list of Christmas books to read too. xx
