Wowza I don't get on to read for a couple of days and i've got 2 pages to do:eek: think I have caught up though.

Peonysugar – Welcome :) you really have a lot going on, but it sounds like you are keeping yourself organised.

Peppa – Me and DH went Sunday evening to watch AbFab and it was really good!! What did you think? or is it this saturday your going? HaHa, I must admit when we buy the big tubs of chocolate I can honestly say they don’t always make it to December :o Excellent news about the wig :D It’s amazing how good they have gotten. My old manager had breast cancer & lost her hair and when I saw her with the wig it looked so much like her hair before you wouldn’t know if you didn’t know, fantastic what they can do!!

Free – Thanks for the Christmas in july qvc heads uo, I’m hoping I’ll be off on one of the Thursdays to watch it. Hope all goes well today!!

MrsI – Delighted you had a fab time.

Princesskitty – :rotfl: glad I’m not the only one been feeling very Christmassy haha! I’m not sure why either. Maybe the not so great English summer?! Which home magazines do you follow on insta? I’m always looking for more :T

04624 – Glad Dd has stopped being sick but sorry she isn’t fully raring again and missing the summer fair :(

Vulpix – I love bakewell & chatsworth! I always go to the Christmas market at Chatsworth and round the house. Might drag DH round bakewell Sunday for somewhere different - weather dependent.

Feisty – Sorry to hear Mr FF isn’t 100%, hoping he has settled today.

Nothing much to report here. I need to get my lists better together , but i'm doing well at listing what i've brought and the price so it's a good start :o Watched Christmas Miranda the other day and I want some more TV christmas special DVD's so I might have to browse amazon.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Hello All

I hope everybody is well (or is as well as can be expected). I can't believe it's July already!

I have managed to buy some Christmas presents over the past few days. There have been a few sales and discount codes so I bought a few things from dotcomgiftshop and Molton Brown. I also treated myself to some new straighteners as mine were quite old. I used them this morning and can't believe the difference. I never really noticed how bad mine had got as they still worked quite well, but the new ones just glide through my hair and it took me hardly any time at all to finish my hair this morning!

Well I've got to go and get some shopping now while I'm on my lunch break.

    Big hugs to everybody

    xx

    Evening everyone,
I am currently sat on couch on the laptop, listening to Christmas songs with my headphones on whilst looking at blogs and Christmas ideas. Wow that was a long sentence!

Newthrift- Glad to hear you are feeling Christmassy too x
Moneymission2015-Glad to hear you treated yourself to some new straighteners, I think I need to invest in a new hairdryer.

I placed an order with halfcost as it is free p&p with orders over £10. Decided to do my dad and my mum ( divorced) a small garden hamper each so ordered a lovely garden ornament/planter in the shape of a house. Also got a few garden utensils that I can place inside the planter. M and m direct have a good sale on at the moment too.

Evening everyone, i survived it, tabs worked a treat, i did get worried when DD1 said to me before we went 'mum your anxiety is rising because i can feel it from across the room' and she was right, but she and DS both agreed i was really calm before and leaving, i even ended up not being sedated  as i chose a small community hospital my bmi was too high for them to do that, i told him after going through the prep and my anxiety i would not go back and he said he would do it without sedation, so i did and it was fine i was back on the ward eating toast within 25 mins. Results were good but i have diverticular disease and that is probably what causes the pains i have, i have to go back to get results of other tests and then that is it!!!! Oh no it isnt.......... i then have to go to a diabetes clinic ***sigh*** thankyou everyone for your wishes it is very much appreciated

04624181 aww poor little thing having to miss the royal tea party, bless her! Can you not do a special royal tea when she is better at home so she can still dress up?

MURIE haha i did think of that song i actually didnt f**t at all thank goodness :rotfl:though i did all the way home in the car :rotfl:i am sure you will make a gorgeous cake for DD even if only one handed!

PEPPAPIG oh good for you finding a lovely wig, it will give you so much more confidence especially like you say someone who works with ladies in wigs thought it was your real hair. I will try to find a photo of the bakery when i have five mins, another interest shared by us ladies :)

FEISTY sorry DH is unwell again, its such a worry on top of everything else, i hope he is back to proper heartrate tonight??

VULPIX oh your trip to Bakewell sounds lovely with your new friend i am glad you enjoyed it. I felt you holding my hand virtually :D mmm you have made me want to make flapjack now :) i hope your painkiller works and helps you sleep. How is MrV dvt doing?

PRINCESSKITTY we are a bunch of christmas nuts, yesterday to keep myself calm and relaxed i stuck christmas into the search on amazon and spent a lovely hour or so filling up my wish list and browsing. Yes i noticed a few christmas in july store promotions on twitter this week funnily enough

MRSINVISIBLE sorry about the cataract diagnosis i feel a bit like that this year i have had 3 separate diagnoses and im not even 50 yet :rotfl:

NEWTHRIFT oh blimey my DS and DD2 love Miranda :D

MONEYMISSION i have always wanted to try Molten Brown i think i am going to put some on my birthday/christmas list this year. Well done for treating yourself to some new straighteners, its like not noticing how bad your glasses are until you get some new ones haha

  • Free so glad everything went as well as it did, even your post sounds more relaxed and happy if that is possible. Impressed also you managed with no sedation but guessing that you got that far wild horses wouldn't drag you back if you had left without the procedure taking place. I also know what you mean about your multiple diagnosis, they seem to come along like busses. There's my DS minding his own business and after 19 years having condition after condition thrown at him, although I guess they are all sort of connected and just go hand in hand with each other. He had the last of his initial 3 injections yesterday so we thought that's it now for 3 months apart from his MRI later this month, we can relax. How silly of me to think that, reviewing the paperwork he now has to be tested for coeliac disease and lactose intolerance. Then the GP gives me forms because most of his diagnosis are hereditary. Now I don't mind at all getting DS sorted but I really do not have time to faff about with me, how inconvenient!

Mrs I- you are going to need a holiday after all the catching up you have been doing! Sounds like you have been really busy since you got back. that was lovely of your neighbour to look after your tubs for you.

Princesskitty- Im sure your family will love the stockings, that will make their stay over Christmas even more special.

04624181-Free's idea of a tea party when she feels better is something she could look forward to to help brighten her up. Hope she is a lot better today x

Feisty- hopefully DH has stabilised by now x

Peppa- our dolls house obsession began in the 90s too, Im determined not to go down that route again tho as we just don't have the space anymore! What a lovely compliment that is about the wig from someone used to seeing them to not realise its not your natural hair.

Vulpix- did the new painkillers work and help you to sleep any better?

Moneymission- DD had some straighteners for Christmas to replace ones that still work but were on the way out and she said too how quick it was with the new ones. She offered me the old ones but I can never use them without burning myself so I don't bother. Ive got the type of hair that looks beautiful when its first curled but 3 mins later is either totally flat as a pancake with kinks sticking out or like a wild woman!

Free- brilliant news! Try Molton Brown, its is lovely! Its expensive but it lasts for ages and smells gorgeous!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

FREE so glad the procedure went well and well done you for being so brave. At least now you have a diagnosis to explain your horrible symptoms and a very good chance of them being managed so you can get on with your life.

MURIE I know what you mean - there are times when I think just sell them all and have mire space ..........and then I get an idea for another one and off I go again!

PINKSTEPS that's so typical, just when you think you're going to be left alone for a while along comes a whole new raft of things to deal with. Glad DS's jabs are nearly done.

0462 your garden hampers sound a lovely idea.

Good to see you back MONEYMISSION.

NEWTHRIFT it's tonight we go to Ab Fab. Glad you enjoyed it, I'm really looking forward to it so will let you know how we get on.

MRSINVISIBLE I'm exhausted just reading what you've been up to! The rain is definitely a sign of being home, can't believe we're nearly half way through July and very little sign of summer!

FEISTY, hoping DH's heart rhythm gets back on track. It must be such a worry for you both and you deal with it so well.

Had a lovely day yesterday with my sister - we went to look at a caravan park and some caravans! I've always wanted a caravan but neither DH nor I want to tow one so a tourer is out of the question - plus we have nowhere to keep it. I'm very keen to look at buying a static one on an owners only site and the one we looked at yesterday was lovely and peaceful and about 10 minutes from Ludlow where my sister has a holiday cottage (and where they're intending to move permanently in the next couple of years). DH isn't as keen because he says we can't really afford it but he's agreed to come and have a look when we next go to Ludlow so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know on a practical level he's right but I'm so fed up being practical, I've been sensible all my life and I want to do something mad and impractical! Watch this space! :D

    Morning all

Had a break through last night with one of DD Christmas gifts. I remembered that she really wanted one of the Design a friend dolls that her cousins were playing with a couple of weeks ago. Its argos version of American Girl/Our generation doll. Had a look online and managed to reserve one at my local store for £14.99 ( reduced from £19.99) The dolls clothes are also reduced so ordered one outfit for now and will get some more next Friday on payday. I did find this though and ordered it too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331842219221?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It is so cute that there is a matching onesie for my DD and the doll. Even though my DD is only 6 she is so tall that she is in size 7-8 already so the onesie should fit her by Christmas.
Today is a rain filled day. Going to do all the boring stuff like ironing, cleaning etc. Husband is going to help out at a homeless event run by BILs local church. Its for homeless men and boys. They get the chance to come in wash, get a free haircut, get a change of clothes, blankets, a small pack of essentials and the chance to speak to somebody. He has gone to look at a new car this morning as ours is on its way out. We cant warrant throwing anymore money at it, Renault have said over £1000 just to MAYBE fix it! It is worth about £600.

Free- SO glad to hear everything went well. You were so brave, well done you xxx What an achievement to have the procedure without the sedation, you must be so pleased with how far you have come. You faced a procedure and did not back down.Well done xx Now you have got some answers you can start to find out more about the diagnosis. Thank you for the idea of a royal tea party. As soon as she is well I am booking us an afternoon tea experience with a lovely place in our town centre.
Pinksteps= So sorry to hear that your son still has to go through more tests, how is he doing in himself?
Murie- Aw yes I think DD deserves a treat so afternoon tea will be booked for us both and I can make sure she gets really spoilt x

    Hi all

Vulpix- We are looking at Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand. Lots of decisions to make where we really want to go as we are taking my parents with us. I am leaning towards a 3 centre holiday in Thailand.:)

Peppapig- I am still in contact with my friends from middle school so we are all having a year long birthday birthday. This commenced in November with the first of the “Golden Girls” birthday. We have had meals out and a week in Benidorm and a long weekend booked to stay in a yurt.:)
I also have plans in place with different sets of friends for going to Liverpool, a weekend in Lincoln, a weekend staying in converted railway carriages and my “at home”. There are also drinks out planned. I have not had a free weekend since May and my next free weekend is in September:eek::eek::eek:

Freespirit. Pleased all went well with your appointment. You are always so organised to treat everybody else. Time now to plan a treat for you for your 50th. Thats an order.:D

Princess Kitty. As well as the spreadsheets I have my little handbag notebook that I use to jot down ideas/ prices etc. As I said I was doing my DD room and she had seen a couple of things. I was getting my notebook out to add to the list when she whipped out her phone and took pics of the items with the price showing so she could remember where they were….What a brilliant idea. I must adopt this!!!!:T:T:T
I always make a 3 course family meal for Christmas Eve and as I chose the courses I add the item to the shopping list- including the weights and measures.

Mrs I, pleased you had a good trip. If I bring holidays spends home I feel like it is “free money” so off you go and spend, spend, spend:rotfl::rotfl:

04624181. I've never really made much of my birthday so this year I decided to go all out! I also use Soap and Glory and Boots sometimes have sets reduced throughout the year. I bought some a few weeks ago. Its worth checking online and getting them sent to a local store for collection.;)

Peppapig. Your dolls houses sound fabulous. When I see dolls houses I always wish I could have the “drink me” potion that Alice had so I can shrink and go inside.:o

Pinksteps, I went to Matalan on Thursday because I thought the sale had started but as there was no sale banner on display I just turned around in the car park and went to B+M instead.:)

My DD room is looking fab. We did a load of shopping in B+M and got some great bargains. Voiles down to £3.99 and cushions reduced from £12.99 to £1.99. Because of the savings she decided to splash out on a lovely lamp for £16.99. The next day she sent me a photo of the B+M reciept which showed the lamp had scanned as £1:j:j:j

Anyway, I must go as I need to much out my DS room. He does it himself (he is 23!!!!!) but now and again I venture in to clean it properly. Kim and Aggie would probably refuse to enter, judging by the "man" odour emanating from within:eek::eek::eek:

    Wish me luck :rotfl::rotfl:
    xxx
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say

morning, l know l am home, cos it is raining, have had loads to do since l got back, DDs orthotics appointment, dentist and GP visits with her. DS2 ENT appointment, mounds of washing and ironing, catch-up visits to fave niece and DSIL and Big Bro, to see the babies, fill up the cupboards as they made Mother Hubbard's look like a 5star hotel! The only thing l haven't needed to do was the tubs and baskets of bedding plants as my lovely neighbour/friend took excellent care of them for me.xxxxx to her.
Free, l will be thinking of you all today and wishing you well, and with a positive outcome from the result. Feisty, you are marvellous, my house was never tidy when my lot were babies. Hope mr f also stays well.
0462... Hope DD continues to recover, enjoy your sofa day with her, (envy, envy, ) time with them flies past.
Vulpix, l have never been to Bakewell, but it is on the list.
Oh, forgot, also went to opticians, and have been told that l have the start of cataracts and what looks like it could become or turn into macular degeneration. Old age, eh? more conditions to declare on the travel insurance forms. Still, better than not being here. School run here l come, gerrup now, DGS!!!

Mrs I, you never fail to amaze me with all you manage to pack in to your days :T:T I'm always shattered just reading it :rotfl:

    Morning all,
Thank you for the get well wishes for dd. The vomiting has stopped but she is still not so good. Temp is high, lethargic, sore tummy and very upset bless her. She is missing the Summer Fair at school today. All the children are dressing up as Kings and Queens as it’s a Royal Tea Party theme in celebration of the Queens 90th birthday celebrations. As you can imagine she has SO been so excited about it = Very upset little girl.

Free- Thinking of you today big hugs to you xxx
Murie- Hope dd birthday goes well. One handed cake making sounds like an Olympic sport.
Peppapig- Wow, that goes to show that your wig must look fantastic. I must say that some wigs look better than real hair. My mother in law is originally from Jamaica and she regularly wears wigs to protect her hair and she orders some online. It is amazing how the quality has changed over the last couple of years. I am using the time that my dd wants me glued beside her to catch up on pinterest ideas for Christmas.
FeistyFidget- So sorry to hear about Mr FF, hope he had a better evening and it settled down. My mum has AF and has had 2 cardioversions, she seems a lot better now and has even come off some meds. It must be so scary for you all. Big hugs and remember we are all here if you need a chat. I am trying to watch silhouette videos on youtube, how amazing is this machine? I am so in awe with everything that I do not where to start.
Vulpix-Sounds like you had a lovely time at bakewell. I was looking at stocking stuffers ideas last night on pinterest. Hope your new tablet worked and you get a good sleep x
Princesskitty29-Sounds like you had a productive day. The Christmas wreath idea sounds lovely. I tried to persuade DD to watch a Christmas film yesterday but she said no. I love the idea of everybody getting a stocking. We all have one at our house but was thinking of doing mini stocking with mini gifts in for table gifts. Not fully thought it through but wanted something different. In previous years I have done pots of gold, bags of gold, bags of fun ( which had loads of wind up toys that we did races with, jokes, charade cards etc)
Mrs I- wow talk about back to Britain with a bang. You have been busy. Sorry to hear about your eyes, hope you ok xx

Have you watched the engraving videos yet? I haven't purchased the special blade that does it yet as I just wouldn't have time to use it, one day though!
Free I'm so glad things went well. You are so brave! At least you finally have an explanation for your pains though. When you get anxious about your diabetes centre appointment just think back to all that you accomplished yesterday!

Thank you for all DH well wishes. Sadly he's much worse, he told me he's worried he won't be around to see little My grow and it broke my heart. He's come straight off his beta blockers and a little googling has revealed this may be the reason he's having problems now  we will have to wait until his consultant is back in on Monday.
