  • Sorry about long post, just had to get it off my chest. OH is useless at a time like this:eek:

Sorry you had to go to a funeral but how sweet of the other friend, and don't feel bad about it she obviously wanted to return the favour. I have the opposite problem where I have lent people money and then they just don't bother paying it back. It is nice to know there are some good people left in the world x

  • I changed to paypal last year as I was desperate to buy golden membership on neobux so transferred from paypal to neobux and got my golden when on offer.

How do you find Neobux ? I have joined and I put in $10 myself to get me started, I don't normally do things like that but I have read loads of good things so I thought it was worth a try ? x

  • Yowsa, so much happening over the past few days. Lots and LOTS of wonderful money making going on! I'll be here all night if I try to reply individually, but well done everyone! :)

Still catching up on the thread, but belated Happy Naked Day to Lynne. Hope you were spoilt rotten.

Not too much moneymaking here, but lots of seed sowing, so it's all good. £24.48 on an unwanted bottle of perfume and another small fleabay sale of 55p to add though. So new total £61.28. Have also taken lots of xmas gifts back and exchanged for things we did need like new jeans for OH as he's lost lots of weight and can't fit into his wardrobe and couple of warm tops for me. So that was helpful.

Congratulations to those that have been swapping energy and utility suppliers too. Always a good saving to be had. OH just shifted us onto a new price plan which will help us too.

Oh, for anyone who uses ipoll, I noticed they were running the higher paying (£3-£5) supermarket missions again today. They do take about 30 days to confirm, but all mine previously have been accepted and it really helps boost an otherwise slow burner of an app. Especially if you can get to several of the supermarkets in an hour and complete a few missions in one hit :money:

Neobux is very different to any other site I have used. Its a real slow burner which you have to stick with long term to see any profits.

I initially joined and found the renting referrals business too complicated but joined again and spent a lot of time reading up on various techniques and started renting.

I find it quite interesting and if run correctly could be a real money spinner long term.

Im hoping to start taking a small payment each month at the end of January and carry on investing any remaining funds.
I don't mind giving you a few pointers as I feel I have learnt a bit in my relatively short time there. :D

    Surfchik.......what seeds you been growing?

Ive been at my allotment today and rescued some strawberry plants off a redundant plot. Bit sad looking but they will thrive with a bit of TLC.

Came home and got some more sweet peas on the go and a tray of leeks.

Need to buy some more compost and I want to get some chillis on the go.

Some raspberry canes arrived that I ordered but the ground is too boggy to put them in at moment so just left them in a bucket of water for now.

Carbootcrazy, that's such a touching story - just shows you, what goes about comes about.

I've had a super day today and made an extra 100 buy selling a printer, an old bin and a breadmaker. Fair enough, I bought these things for a lot more than I sold them, so technically it's a loss, but the money was spent a long time ago.

so that's 182 total so far. Nearly at target.
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Oh, I just love sweet peas, Kantankrus Mare, my all-time favourite flower:j. The scent of them is wonderful, just a couple of cut flowers will fill a whole room with fragrance.

I grow them every year but never start them off as early as this. How are you doing yours please? Anyone with an allotment is obviously much more of a gardening expert than me, even though I live in the country:o

That's basically what I have done, I joined years ago and couldn't really get my head round it and gave up. I have read loads of guides and watched loads of youtube videos with different techniques so I think I have got the general idea now, I have 30 rented referrals at the moment. I'm going to be careful about adding anymore though as I don't want to have to add anymore of my own money to maintain them. I'm just seeing how it goes to start. If you have any pointers though I would be happy to hear them. PM me so we don't fill the thread x

  • I feel really bad about taking this money. Not only is the £100 'interest' she added to the original £200 far too much, much more than any interest I'd have gained anywhere else during that time, but I genuinely wanted it to be a gift to her that she'd never have to repay. She was going through hell at that time.

I was/am very touched though, I actually cried when I opened it. OH hadn't seen it so had no idea what I was so emotional about, he just thought I was still upset from the funeral.

Carboot, this is truly a lovely story and I completely understand where you are coming from by wanting it to remain a 'gift'. I think most of us would likely have similar feelings. Although (and this is the 'both sides of the story' Libra in me), I think you should also consider accepting the money BACK as another gift to your friend

You clearly think the world of her, else you wouldn't have been so generous in the first place and it's also clear that she also feels a huge amount of gratitude for your support and kindness. However, being in a position where we have to accept money from someone is never pleasant for any of us. It knocks our egos, whether it should or it shouldn't. If after all this time, it still means so much to her that she repay your support then perhaps you should consider this as an opportunity to give her another gift....her dignity. She sounds like a good person and she sounds like she has an awful lot of respect for you. Enjoy her repayment as both a compliment to your friendship and know that she probably went home that night feeling a long awaited sense of relief over finally being 'straight'.

As an aside, I hope the funeral offered up a wonderful celebration of a life well lived. Sending a virtual hug :)
