I know when we got rid of ours there was a man who would come and collect for free. He then took to scrap merchants with other metal he had acquired and get money for it. Not sure how much though. No chance scrap merchant would come to you and offer price instead od OH wanting a cut?

There's a man who drives through the village once a month in a flat-bed truck with the Steptoe and Son jingle playing at full volume. Always makes me laugh:rotfl:

I don't think he pays though, I remember OH helping him to load our ancient chest freezer onto the truck and I didn't see any money changing hands. Or maybe OH pocketed it:eek:. All the appliances were bought by me so really it's my money;)
  • Right, off to Post Office. I may be some time:rotfl:

Yes the ones who come round don't pay. They take for free to sell.

Tell Oh he benefits from you doing his washing so money needs to change hands

In other news am getting loads of silly pms from Facebook lol.the woman was in the wrong yesterday, she made some very silly comments over pm and they got posted publicly. I have asked admin to delete but as it is monday they are back to work.

I told the person admin don't sit on Facebook 24hours a day. I got told it's 9am :rotfl: I also said they had a job!!! Honestly don't send silly pms and then complain when they are posted publicly!!

    Good luck!!!
  • Sell it where, though? It's very rural here and I know from bitter experience that nobody ever wants the hassle of getting here and finding us for low-value stuff:mad:, although they bother to come if it's totally free!

lol - I keep forgetting that you live in a field in the middle of nowhere. ;)

Stick it on eb*y as an auction "Spares or repair" with an SP of say £2.99 - describe the fault if you can and certainly say what make and preferably model number it is. If the motor still goes say so. If not - say so. If it doesn't leak, say so. If it sounds like a bucket of nails in a cement mixer - tell them that too. What's to lose ? :)

I agree - if the Ebayer of the Month cannot pull this off what hope do the rest of us have? I just did a quick search on Ebay for Broken Washing Machine and there are quite a few listings marked sold - prices seem to range between 99p and £25 depending on the brand and nature of fault.

Maybe have a look and see if a broken washer of the same model has sold recently and then decide what to do?

Off the starting blocks with £29.15 sold on eBay after post and fees. So 29.15/155.

Now to read back for inspiration!

I've finally managed to get back to some kind of normal now everyone is back at school/work so Happy New Year Everyone

Just been catching up and some of you have made some massive progress already this month. Well Done :j :T

I'm in again this month and aiming for £10 please. Made a bit of a start already with a £10 Am@zon voucher from MobileExpressions and cashed out £40.21 on TopCashBack with some New Look vouchers.

Was hoping the get a load of stuff listed on fleabay with the 100 listings but haven't had 2 minutes to myself since before Christmas so think I may have missed the boat again there :(

Never mind will keep plugging away with the decluttering/selling and see how I get on.
