Count me in too, please Bob. I am hoping to be back with renewed passion in January after being on a very slippery slope in November and December. May 2016 be more prosperous for all of us.

    Amen to that TOG.

Thanks Bobarella. Please add me in. I think many of us will need this after the extra expenditure this month.

Many thanks to Misstara for hosting December.

  • Hi everybody...

    Complete challenge newbie here.....

Can I please just get a quick check of what this challenge is about..? I read the December NST thread. Is this the same as that....?

Are the rules the same this time...? I'm just not so sure if I can do them all...

    Hi there

These challenges were founded a couple of years ago by a poster called Ninja Saving Kat, who at the time had around 13k of debt I believe. Her focus was on doing whatever it takes to get and stay debt free. In her case she not only did that but is traveling the world at the moment having saved up a large sum to do so.

The idea of the ongoing monthly challenges is that although someone different hosts them each month and has leeway to set their own theme the underlying focus is on
    1. Setting your budgets strictly at the start of each month and sticking to them.
    2. Paying towards your debts first
    3. Making as much extra cash as you can in whatever side way you can (ebay, craft fairs, music magpie, overtime)
    4. Aiming for a high number of total no spend days (although things like medical prescriptions are not counted)
    5. Checking in every day to stay on track.

Hope that sounds like something you would find helpful..

    Bob
