Bulb Energy Reviews: Give your feedback on the energy supplier

Hi, I switched back to Bulb on February 23rd after an excellent 12 month deal with Avro came to an end. Bulb were cheaper than Avro's cheapest tariff at the time of switching. A week after the switch completed, Avro announced a new fixed tariff that was cheaper than Bulb, even before Bulb announced their latest price rise. So I intend to switch back to Avro.
I have a couple of questions:
I manage 3 accounts, for myself, my mother & also my father-in-law. We each have at least £50 of Bulb referral credits from referring each other last month. Will Bulb use these credits as part payment for the final balance for each account after we switch to a new supplier?
Also , when I logged into the Cheap Energy Club, it is showing my Bulb Vari-Fair tariff as currently having higher unit rates & standing charges than is displayed when I log into my Bulb account (s). Have the proposed price hikes already been factored in tho the Cheap Energy Club? Or have I missed something with regards to an earlier price change that has occurred between February 23rd & today? I have been unable to contact either Bulb or Avro over the weekend. Quite annoying when I only received official notification & became aware of the price rise just after the phone lines had closed for the weekend. We still haven't made our final payments to Avro for the old tariff, they're due out on April 3rd.
Thanks in advance for any help with these questions. 👍If you're not living on the edge, you'll take up too much room.0 -
Hi Bob.
I can't answer the second part of your question, with your £50 referral credits, you might want to check the terms and conditions if you have to stay with them for a certain length of time to keep them. I know in the 'old days' this was the case, but maybe it has changed now? Just a thought so you don't possibly lose them.1 -

Ok thanks to you both for your quick replies. I have now switched all 3 accounts back to Avro.👍If you're not living on the edge, you'll take up too much room.1

When I changed to Bulb the first 6 months Bulb were a total mess with their accounting. Wrong meter reading totals, gas calculation to KW was totally wrong. Figures rounded up, so they were always a penny dearer, totals wrong. Each month was an hour on the phone checking their !!!!!! ups and getting them to right them.
They have got better but I advise to check every bill, because I always had a wrong figure somewhere.0 -
Next week
An executive at one of the companies which had explored a takeover of Bulb said it had liabilities of approximately £1bn

However, the main reason for this post was to say how happy I’ve been with bulb over the last year; great deal and excellent customer service. Finally, having switched, they have promptly, and correctly, calculated my refund due (around 1 month’s payment).
Many thanks to all!
What would you all do? change now?0 -

You could phone them up and ask what is the cheapest they could do for you? Say you were recommended go to them from another ex-bulb customer. Sorry I can't suggest anything better.0 -
