I don't like desserts or any sweet things. BUT.....

I found frozen raspberries and strawberries when trying to find room for other stuff in the freezer!

As I have meringue nests (their use by dates are forever!) I will just make an Eton Mess. It will be devoured I know this.

    How easy is that!
  • Lidl's frozen mango sorbet.

For tea it's going to be xmas pud!
  • I'm the only one who likes Christmas pudding and even though I do, it is too much after the meal so we don't bother. We eat in the eveniing and there is always fruit and cheese if people are not full, and those who want to can eat their own weight in chocolate.

I'm going to try James Martin's clementine syllabub recipe for the first time. It can be made a day or two ahead and kept in the fridge. With only a few for Christmas Day and two of them being elderly, I anticipate no big appetites and just a little sweetener will be perfect.

I like the ice-cream sundae idea that chirpycheap posted though!

  • Hi Dustyblinds we have tinned mandarin segments in the orange layer (which includes the sherry-soaked sponge), using the juice to make up the jelly. The second layer is frozen raspberries in raspberry jelly, but I have to admit cherries with kirsch a la Nargleblast sounds wonderful!

The choice here will be Christmas pudding or not Christmas pudding. The other element of choice will be brandy butter, rum sauce or both.

here will be the same. We have ice cream for the person who doesn't like Christmas pudding. And we have cream and custard on offer with the brandy butter.

We have the pudding at least 2 or 3 hours after the Christmas dinner.

Christmas pudding is to a family recipe which requires Trex. Mum has taken over making them for the whole family - we have to return the pudding bowl at some point during the year if we want pudding for the next Christmas

  • We have a choice of Christmas pudding or trifle. I will make a Baileys Chocolate torte for tea time as we have the outlaws with us and MIL loves it.

I've got a Christmas pud in the cupboard that says best before 2001, do you think it will kill us?
