We're having raspberry meringue roulade, but not home-made; we bought one last year, and it was so nice DD asked for it again.0

We don't have dessert after Christmas Dinner as we are too full, but do have dessert in the evening.
This year my 9 year old daughter is in charge of pudding. After watching GBBO this summer she wants to do a black forest gateaux, but then she watched Junior BO and it has now evolved into a black forest gateaux piñata cake. It could be interesting
Had a lovely Christmassy but not too heavy dessert at a Christmas party the other week. It was a pavlova, but it has cinnamon in it, and the fruit on the top was plum and apple and autumn fruits. It was totally lush.Zebras rock0 -
That really does sound gorgeous kathrynha :drool:0

We were wondering whether olto have apple crumble or pie. Then I saw mary berry make her winter crumble which satisfies both choices so I have made it today ready to freeze x0

We're having a Christmas crumble, it's became a tradition in our house now. We mix a jar of sweet mince with the apple. The crumble topping has cinnamon and brown sugar in it, served with double cream it's delicious.0

Quality Street/roses/heroes.. all 3 meals and dessert!
That made me laugh pigpen
Oh some lovely thingsI love a dessert, no matter how full, I'll never be thin
Thank you vjsmum for the mousse cake feedback and the Jamie Oliver link fizzwhizz, that's looks good. I've not made cakes for so long I've lost my confidence a bit so I was tempted to pick up something ready made, but my Daughter has bigged up our Christmas lunch to her partner so I feel under pressure now.0 -
I usually make a mousse or cheesecake. This year I'm doing a white chocolate baked cheesecake with raspberry coulis and/or salted caramel sauce (homemade, sitting in a jar in the fridge). I've also ordered a black forest roulade and some fancy ice cream.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

We have a huge family and got assigned dessert this year, they can have a choice of:
Trifle
Malteaser cheesecake
Yule log
Ice cream and jelly (for the kids)
All home made and all being driven 25 miles to my mums house on the day0 -
I like to make a traditional Scottish clootie dumpling (except I microwave it
) This treat lasts all week hehe. None of us are into xmas pudding but this is nice and lighter. A wee bit is plenty, sliced cold or warmed with custard or cream.
For the big day I make a small sherry trifle that usually gets eaten over 2-3 days later in the evening.0 -
I have the following
Bfast = christmas pudding and brandy butter
Lunch = brandy butter and christmas pudding
Tea = brandy butter, christmas pudding and brandy butter
However, on boxing day I make apple and raspberry crumble with the fruit I've frozen in the summer, and have it with creme fraiche.
