  • Is she sure there's no buses? Our area has a Sunday service on Boxing Day
  • Why do you keep posing your issues as being other people's, OP?!
Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman
  • If you can't get a bike could you get a taxi to take you to the end of the bit that doesn't have a path? As Ive regularly walked upto 5 miles for work a day and while not ideal it will save you a lot of the taxi fare but still get you to the safer parts to walk the rest to keep you safe

Could you find a taxi company whose fares are not regulated by the Council.
or ask a work colleague if they could pick you up and you will give them 'petrol and a bit.

Is it wrong that this made me chuckle?

can they uber part of it? tons of 'free £15/20' credits knocking around.

Uber is not in every part of the country, only in major cities. We don't know where the OP is?

Furthermore, there is also "surge" pricing, which could take into effect, to match supply and demand, prices are raised.

It is also an on demand service, which you can't prebook. There's a risk of having no cars available at all (at which point, the surge pricing could be going through the roof).
  • Personally I'd show willing. Walk the 8 miles, and then collapse when I got there..

I walked >4 miles to the pub tonight, but luckily got a lift most of the way home, but was quite ready to walk it.

No buses at all on BD where she lives. If there was a bus service, the first bus for her leaves at 5:30am. She needed one around 4:20am

Most Sunday services don't start until much later than 5am. I live in a large town, and most weekday buses don't start running until 6am. Sunday services are from around 8am onwards.
