I have now 1 year UK NCB and they gave me that quote.0 -

What could I do then?WellKnownSid wrote: »That explains it.0 -
Using a time machine, travel back in time to the point where you wanted to take out insurance in the UK and your European NCB was still valid. Ask your broker to take your EU NCB into account. What could I do then?
A year on with a non-contiguous NCB history you may struggle to get any takers.0 -
You wouldn't get a lease deal to cover insurance. If your only managing <30mpg with a modern diesel than changing your driving style to improve the mpg is most likely the best way to reduce your fuel bill.
Electric cars have alot less range/fuel than a petrol/diesel car, if you drive an electric car such as the Leaf with the same style of driving your doing to achieve 30mpg in a diesel I suspect you wouldn't get much more than 50-60 mile from a 100% charge (I currently get 70-90miles depending on weather/speed/traffic).
I don't think mileage is entirely down to driving style - 90% of our usage is journeys of 2-4 miles in congested urban areas from cold and we have never achieved great mileage, the leaf is much better as there is not the same consumption premium of 'running cold' but despite that it never says more than 90 range when fully charged and more like 80 in the winter.I think....0 -
I already told you, my mileage is 600 per month, mix of roundabouts and motorway.
I asked distance to work etc, not monthly. Zoe goes really well on the motorway, but the motor gets much less efficient above 60mph, so it will eat range. Just working on the monthly, plan to charge 8 times per month.By the way, how come you have so low insurance?
I have no idea! You're asking some precision questions of us on insurance, the answers to which only the insurance computers know the answer! Build up an NCB is one sure way to reduce. I have 17 years, I'm 36 and have an IAM advanced test pass.I'm currently paying £250/month 'All in' for my Leaf, but if you work that out its £6k for 2 years of motoring
I'll be about £3,800 I reckon in the Zoe.
Gulash, you're going to have to get better at working out costs than you currently are if you want to work out what's best...0 -

What do you mean exactly? I have worked out my current costs.0 -
Post #31 reckons you're getting less than 30MPG - is this right? What are you currently driving?
You mention 70 mile trips - you'll need to charge at the end of each of those trips if the EV (Leaf or Zoe anyway) will be your only car.0 -

I drive quite agressive with lots of accelerations and decelerations, maybe that's the problem. I am driving a diesel automatic.0
