Maybe other electric car companies have better offers? Or maybe hybrids offer a better solution?

Good to have a real user here. Can you tell me please:
    - what do you mean 10.5K pa PCP?
    - does the £170pcm include insurance, maintenance and tax (if there is any)?
    - what do you mean you use less than £80pcm?
    - how long it takes to charge to make like 30miles?

Pcp with a 10500 mile annual limit.

    No.

I spend less on diesel than I did.

Depends on the charger. Between 15min and 3 hours.

WE have a Nissan leaf, costs us 134pcm plus 129 upfront for 6k pa over 2 years. Max range in summer is about 90 miles, 75 in winter but I think the latest model has a 20% bigger battery.

Costs about 3.3p/mile at standard rate leccy - cheaper if you have economy 7 and charge over night.

Insurance was same as our old car (1.9 diesel) at 240pa. No tax and needs a £100 service every 12 months (not sure if this means one or two services during the 24 month pcp). So far after 8 months 100% reliable, not even back to dealer for any niggles.
    I think....

The reanault deal is at 4% interest.

Though the £97 is 10000 miles which should be ok for you.

You may have to get extra insurance if the car is stolen, but if the car is damaged during the 2 year lease the normal insurance should cover you, as long as the damage was not caused by you.

£89 deposit plus £89 per month + £80 per month for the battery based on 7,500 miles = £169

That looks a good deal. Is that a two year lease?

According to the site it is, and I should imagine other dealers will match it.

OK, but my main problem is to include insurance in the lease. Are there any schemes like that?

Electric cars are really cheap to run but they aren't that cheap to buy. You seem to be trying to find a fully maintained deal for <£200 a month....I have to say that I don't know any deals that cheap even for a small petrol car let alone an electric car.

Even on a small cheap hybrid like a Yaris, I've not seen a deal for less than £200/month fully maintained.

You need to factor in the cost of actually buying a car into your £200/month number, unless your running a £500 banger, deprecation is usually the biggest cost of car ownership. Not fuel or maintance.

    Why?

My insurance is £120. You might be an escaped serial drink driver whose last quote was £12,000.

Could I lease an electric car with less than £200 including everything apart from electricity?
No. Very few leases under £200, excluding all the extras.

No, there are no schemes to include insurance in the lease. If insurance is a problem for you, why not try getting a quote for a Renault Zoe just for fun - they're not expensive to insure. You'll be insuring an £23,000 ish car though, as the cost to replace excludes the grant you get towards it.
Mine was like this, they've got a bit more expensive since:
    Deposit £320
Monthy £151 for 24 months. That's £80 for the battery, and £71 for the car, limited to 7,500 per year.
Tax is free. My insurance went from £200 for a 350Z to £340 for both cars on Admiral multi car.
As above, it's PCP, which involves paying for part of the car for those two years, with the option to buy, hand back, or start again with another car at the end of the term. Renault are doing very good deals at the moment though, and heavily loading up the final payment. Good news if you want to run it for 2 years and hand it back, but no use if you plan to buy the car at the end.
how long it takes to charge to make like 30miles?

On the Zoe specifically, if you buy one today it'll be a 22kW charging one. It'll cost you £500 more, and you'll have to wait longer I think, to buy the older motor, which can charge at 43kW.
Then you have to find a 22kW charger. If you do that, and say, conservatively you get 3 miles per kWh, you need 10kWh, which will take you 27 minutes, as a very very rough guide.

You still haven't told us your mileage or driving patterns, we still don't know whether an electric car is suitable for you.
