. I'm not sure who they rent off along the "golden mile" though. Probably still all ends up going back to Blackpool Council.
Too true -- it's presumably the licence income that helped Blackpool Council to commit Gawd knows how much on backing that daft bid for a SuperCasino when it knew that the intended site was not in a single ownership, and that one of the resort's "ruling families" who did own a significant chunk of it had repeatedly said they didn't want their land going to such a venture. I've been amazed nobody has as yet reported the Council to the District Auditor in view of the amount of time and money wasted.
Thanks for the thought re messrs sue grabbit & runI do believe the Pleasure Beach is the finest attraction of its kind in Europe, possibly the world, and that the owners are wonderful people whose hard work has made Blackpool the success it is. (How's that?) (Ed: not enough.)
In which case, I'd better not mention how their involvement seemed to work out at Morecambe. (Ed: No, don't.)

IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN ITS A SCAM
If you could see it was dodgy before you started then it wouldn't be a scam you would fall for. Therefore you won't "see" the scam until they have your money. I carry a piece of iron pyrites around with me. Its also called fools gold - another reminder for me never to do anything in haste. I would probably have offered to pay with it!
When he gets junk mail asking for money, he sends one of them
he also wrote a brill email he sends to spammers, must find it so everyone can use it.
Bit off topic but you reminded me!
Oh and as someone said about gambling, I agree. I dont gamble. never even do the lottery and have probably saved far more money than I'd ever have won, and my kids will spend an hour in an arcarde having gone in with no money and leave with some that they've found! :rotfl: Gambling IS a mugs game I have to say. Though this wasnt pre meditated gambling, wa sit? A diff scenario really.I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
Sadly, your Dad's just asking for trouble, if he responds to spam emails from anything other than a disposable addy. Otherwise, his replies confirm his address is "live", which is what the spammers need to know.0

I'm sorry, thats rubbish. I wouldn't have kept going like the op and from what I read here the vast majority wouldn't have either. Only a few will fall for this, not anyone!
It seems the op also went to the cash point to continue, and has said they were very intimidating. Well if the op thought this and managed to get away (which must have happend if they went to the cash point) why did they go back? So someone can't be that intimidating, if you walked off!0 -

OP: no point in arguing with people who would never get caught by a scam. Far better to be ready to offer commiserations and, hopefully, constructive advice when those same people eventually come back here saying 'I never thought I'd be a victim of a scam, but. . .'0

Sorry to hear that, it was brave to post this. Sadly these vermin pray on peoples greed, I saw that scam on the real hustle last year, its still on tv at mo.
I would never do any fairground stalls there as bent as hell.
I worked for 2 years at a popular seaside fairground (the kind that doesn't leave) I was on the Cans & Hook 'a' duck etc. I can genuinely say that there is no scam, all games have a chance of winning, every stall would have 3-20 winners a day (and obviously the ducks that was 100% wins) some are harder than others but any1 with skill can do it. Obviously I can't vouch for all stalls but I believe less than 1/2 are bent!
You wouldn't believe the abuse I would get if some1 didn't win! After having 1 go at £1, they were fuming not to have won the £10-£20 prize! I was strangled by my scarf whilst pregnant, had things thrown at me, called a cheating scumbag.
Also the amount of times the sweet little familys would cheat, putting their kids inside to put balls in/hoops on etc, and even stealing the teddies when its busy. They seem to think it is THEFT - IT IS!
PLEASE DON'T TREAT ALL STALLS AS THE SAME, IF YOU DON'T WANT A GO THATS FINE BUT PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THE PERSON RUNNING THE STALL WHO QUITE OFTEN IS JUST EARNING A DECENT HONEST LIVING!
AND LAST OF ALL GOOD LUCK!:AI'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -
