I guess we just have to hope that when Trading Standards turn up the owner doesn't offer the bloke a chance to win the last of his stock before he has to close down "£10 sir, guaranteed win, I'm sure your kids would love some of these toys wouldn't they. Oooooo unlucky.....£20 mate and I'll move it a bit closer...just think of the smiles on their faces when you get in this evening with all these.......oooo close........"

There's a whole section for these sorts of warnings, etc - otherwise this section would get clogged up with mugs with more money than sense.

Exactly. So why is this still lumbering on here? Would any moderator like to explain?

Give the op some room why don't ya.
I don't see you all adding posts to threads which should be in the 'I wanna' section.

Why single this op out, about your grievence?

Sure report a thread to be moved into the correct section, but really what is the point of posting your disapproval about it.

    Move on please.

Like a few other posters on this thread I'm also from Blackpool and I wasn't actually surprised at the scam (it's a very old one which until this thread I thought was common knowledge). What did surprise me was how much cash was handed over before realising it's a scam. I never walk along the prom unless I absolutely have to, and just like all the tourists I get accosted by the people there but just walk on. I know how intimidating they try to be but they don't physically stop you from walking on. Maybe it's just a local thing but I always thought ALL the stalls along the prom were basically scammers and nothing short of completely knocking down and rebuilding/rejuvinating the prom is going to change it. These are basically the same old carnival scams that have been around for generations.

I don't suppose any of the posters could make a hoopla ring slightly bigger than the one used by the stall holders. A little sleight of hand and your quids in.

Let's see them make a fuss about being cheated.

I wouldn't even risk engaging them in any kind of conversation. Trying to cheat them is pretty much suicidal. Do you think they'd really pay out even if they didn't catch you cheating? Once you hand over any money, you've lost it. Simple as that. If you don't want to be scammed or want a way around it, then just avoid them. It's the only guarantee.
