Most do not have an option to unsubscribe, and I have tried blocking them but they just keep coming.

Well if you've been using unsubscribe options that explains it. The unsubscibe links in spam are the same as "yes I'm a real email address please send me more!". You aren't meant to contact the spammers in any way whatsoever, or it simply increases the amount of spam you get. Give a unique email address to everyone you sign up with and you can soon see who has passed on your details and any that attract spam you simply stop using that address. I've reduced my spam down to zero in this way.

Sorry To Read Of These Scam Artist. Let It Be A Lesson To You How Can These People Get Away With It
  • I think I know of the guys you mean. They offered me a free game to try and get me hooked a couple of years ago. So I gave it a go for a laugh, they tried to tell me that by taking up the free offer I had committed myself to playing with cash until I won. When I walked away without falling for the scam, they started racially abusing me and threatening to throw my two year old daughter into the sea.

Sadly, that's the ugly face of Blackpool.

Though then again, I've yet to see the pretty one.

Did you report them to the police? They are pretty hot on racially motivated crime, after the McPherson Report, and it's a priority for them.

All I can say is ignore people unless they're asking for directions and never give anything to anyone, or buy anything off the street.

Homeless people will spend money on drink/fags/drugs - perpetuating their addiction/dependance and homelessness cycle. For this reason *NEVER EVER* buy the big issue (unless you want to make people stay homeless), and if they get nasty take the number off their badge and complain about them.

One of my friends recovered from tragedy and homelessness by selling the big issue. It gave her an honest way to earn enough to live on, so she got her self-respect back and went on to get a conventional job.

Big issue sellers have to behave: as you say the badge number is critical, and people who behave badly are stopped from selling it. This discipline is one factor that helps pull people back from the brink.

Forgive me, but thats complete and utter rubbish.
The Big Issue is sold by homeless and vulnerably housed people. In order to sell the magazine a potential vendor will need to prove they are homeless, by showing receipts from any hostels that they have been staying in or a letter of referral.
Once signed up vendors undergo a training session in which The Big Issue's services and the pitch system are explained in detail.
All vendors complete a training period and sign the vendor code of conduct. This is made up of the basic rules to which they must adhere whilst selling the magazine, including no begging, no drinking, no swearing and no harassment of the public.

We believe that solving the problem of homelessness is about helping people to help themselves.
Although we work as a business our aim is not to make money for its own sake and we exist to help vendors - any post investment profits the Company generates are invested into our charity wing, THE BIG ISSUE FOUNDATION

If they turn to crime instead to get what they want, hopefully they committed the crime against a big business which has plenty of collateral and can easily swallow up the losses.

    How rude.

Whenever I have said no to a big issue seller they have taken the time to be polite and wish me a good day.

Its a way of getting their lives back on track.
