Got a few questions, if anybody could answer some of them it would be much appreciated.
1) How much are you looking at for a buffet mid strip
2) If you are not somebody that eats masses of food, is it better value to get a sandwich for lunch and dinner? Im guessing US sandwiches will be large
3) Are there any places on the strip to book an ad hoc trip to Red rock Canyon or similar?
4) Where is the best place to get a good view of Vegas at night? Stratosphere / Eiffel Tower or the High Roller?
5) Are there any good sunrise views from the strip? or just off strip?
6) Are there any poker rooms that are tourest friendly? ie not full of good players wearing headphones
7) Any good tips for cheap and cheerful brekkie near the Bellagio?
Sorry, only planned to ask a couple and I kept thinking of new ones.
Thanks
For poker rooms – Avoid Bellagio, Flamingo, Harrahs, Planet Hollywood, Wynn, Aria and Venetian. Monte Carlo has a small poker room and should be okay. I haven’t played at Excalibur, Luxor, Treasure Island or Mandalay Bay, but they do not get that many players, so are unlikely to have good players. The Linq only has a couple of tables running at any one time (with the lowest table blinds that I have seen in Vegas at $1/$1), which again is unlikely to have good players. Its also worth remembering that you can order alcoholic drinks, coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc from the cocktail waitresses whilst sitting at the poker table, they do not charge for the drink, but it is customary to give $1 tip. Its also a good idea to ask for a bottle of water when asking for a drink, that way you can stay hydrated. Get a players card for the property that you are playing in. Total Rewards pays $1 per hour, which you can use at any of the Total Rewards properties. For Mlife you will also get $1 per hour (there are exceptions, but those properties have good players), but you can only use at the property that you played in.0 -

we are not light eaters and the most we have is 2 meals a day in Vegas, we've regularly gone 24 hours between meals (usually when Grand Lux Cafe is involved). I wouldn't imagine many would want both lunch and dinner - we learned that lesson early on in our trips.
Not necessarily the best view, but views we never considered until recently and can be good and interesting - top of parking garages. the top of the garage for the Showcase cinema near MGM was the first one.
Ellis Island isn't too far from Bellagio, but would be a walk - it would fit the bill.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

For great views of Vegas at night I would 100% recommend the Mix Lounge at the top of Mandalay Bay, incredible views northwards up the Strip.0

Cant decide whether to buy some dollars today at 1.42 or to keep waiting? We dont go until begining of August but not sure what will happen after end of June!0

Probably if you buy them now, the rate will shoot up - and if you don't buy any now, the rate will plummet. That always seems to be the way!0

Definitely true!I'm wondering whether to buy some now, maybe about £2000 worth, and get the rest nearer the time. But I don't really want that amount of cash sitting around the house until August.

If you are comfortable with the rate I would buy.
Last month trading rate : Low= 1.40207. High = 1.44492.
Last year trading rate : Low= 1.38628. High = 1.58798.0 -
I guess it will drop further as the Brexit vote gets nearer. But after that, could go up sharply? I found Excalibur, TI, Ballys and Mirage the "most profitable" games (esp mirage where the table was full of drunks) and by far the most experiential poker room was Caesars which you should play just so you can say you did!!!
Might try a couple of those.
My must play room is the Bellagio. Though I know there are going to be decent players in that one, so I just plan to visit for an hour or two and play like a nit.0
