Only been to Orleans. Based on the price I had zero expectation, but it was excellent.

We are not staying at Orleans this trip, but will be paying a visit one evening. Considering we are staying at MGM Sig and will get a taxi there and back, it shows how much we think of the place and the food.

The casino is pretty good there too and cocktail service better than some of the strip casinos too.

Lunch buffets are sometimes overlooked, I think

Both Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch are excellent MV options, we think.

I liked Red Rocks buffet sadly ran out of time and ended up refunding back GVR

First impression of Orleans was that it was not for me, but there is something about the place that just feels right / has a good vibe.
  • We have done SD and SF as little breaks from LV, and loved both.
This year we are doing LA. Not really interested in LA, so will not bother with most of it, but really want to hang out in Santa Monica.
We always fly Southwest, and have no issues so far.

That's a very good point. The LA area is so vast and varied that it's entirely possible to like some parts and not others.

FWIW the drive between Las Vegas and San Diego is easy. Driving in the Los Angeles area can be hectic. I've only driven through San Diego once on the freeways so can't say how that compares.

Does anyone have any experience of using VRBO to book Las Vegas hotels or properties?

There is a listing for MGM Signature for my dates and its $381 for 4 nights and no resort fees.

It's got 147 reviews with 4.9 stars out of 5

I have given up on that but I am up to11 so far (I know I will not be able to use them all) but will defo use the $50 free slot play, either the $50 or $75 off $100/$150 steak house voucher and either the Aria 2 for 1 Dinner Buffet or free dinner at Luxor Buffet.

That leaves me with $85 Maverick flight voucher for Vegas strip flight, which I understand can be used as not linked to any of the MGM hotels, then I have a 25% discount off shop merchandise with them and a free photo. If I can use them great but no great loss if I can't.

Less than a month to go now :D
