Hi l wonder if l could ask how you got to Walmart please? We are staying just off the strip behind Bally's.

I used Lyft in November from the Signature to Walmart and it was $12 each way, this wasn't counting the $5 credit I then used on top, so $7 each way, super easy.

We used both last trip and our trip in may too. We liked it. We don't get it in Cumbria either.

Using the buses is another option, if we don't hire a car we love using the buses, had some really good laughs and seen some right sights on the buses. The buses run N-S S-N and E-W W-E so you have to change buses at some point. From near ballys you would get on a bus on E Flamingo heading west, get off at Decatur cross the road and get a bus heading north then get off at Walmart near Charleston, obviously there are many other Walmarts in Vegas. It does take time getting around on the buses because if you just miss a connection you could have half hour wait for the next bus. We take our carry on cases with us and put a cool bag full of ice out the hotel ice machine and put plenty of bottled water in there. Was $5 for 24 hour pass when I last used it, didn't have a problem using this pass on the Deuce either.
  • Merry Christmas everyone.
Hopefully Santa will bring me a voucher for a Las Vegas holiday, instead of the usual Next and M&S.

merry christmas to you as well and to everyone on the board, hopefully more money saving advice will be given !
Kinda like you in hoping for something vegas related as a present!:j

On a kinda side note, My brother has gotten his own room since my sister moved out, and well he wanted help redecorating his room and guess what wall paper he got?

vegas themed wall paper!!! looks very smart indeed
  • We still haven't done anything about booking for next year. Prices for flights seem high, only decent deal we saw was to fly to LA and then drive to Vegas, which could be an option.

I got a Route 66 book for Christmas. I had said to my husband I'd like to do Route 66 at some point. Sadly I looked up hire cars and it looks like around $1000 for the car, since there's a $500 one way fee on it. Not sure if it's something we'll do in the near future or not, seems rather costly. We once met a couple in Vegas (at McMullan's quiz), and they had done Route 66 on a previous trip. They had got a good deal by basically transporting someone's car from Chicago to LA for them as they were moving and didn't want to drive themselves. I think they said they had to do it in a week though.

If anyone sees good deals for Vegas flights for September though do let me know!
