That article is naff. I do understand some peoples criticism of Vegas, and appreciate its not for everyone but it seemed almost fictional.

FWIW, it was around 1 hour from leaving the plane to being "out"

It did feel longer as we had to queue for the machine, then queue for the immigration officer, then queue to get through customs with our luggage. All very odd but quick enough to be tolerable (IMO) :)

I mentioned that before on a thread that it seemed to be an unnecessary addition to add the machines into the mix but others thought it was quicker.

Mind I was interrogated on the way out of LHR had my roll along searched then got the dreaded red x across my print out at the MIA machines and had to go through a lengthy cross examination by the TSA. Turns out there is a marker on someone with the same name as me.

Come on, how many stonemans can there possibly be.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

can see you going through check in and one of the workers at the airport calls "mr stoneman mr stoneman" so you and 2 other guys turn round and in unison smile and mutter "yes?"

    Someone's a bit of a buzzkill:

I can't say that I've stayed at a hotel that liberally advertises escorts.

a fab Vegas journalist has written a good response:
    http://chelseasedoti.com/blog/2016/home-means-nevada

It's hard to work out where she's staying, I think she's lying whichever way you cut it... she says there is a McDonalds in her Strip hotel... these are Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Stratosphere.

She implies there's a Dunkin Donuts in the hotel. According to the DD website/Google, there are only 4 outlets in LV, one is Fremont Hotel, the others are away from the Strip.

She implies there's a Fatburger in the hotel. According to the FB website/Google, no hotels have a Fatburger concession, there is a restaurant opposite Monte Carlo.
  • MY VEGAS FACEBOOK GAME -WARNING!!

Sent a message via Facebook to their page asking politely why one reward I was interested in was never available (it is always sold out - I believe it is never offered I'f I'm honest).

Three hours later get a message from Facebook security threatning to close down my Facebook account!

Reading the comments on their FB page I am not the only one so beware if commenting on there until you have used up your rewards,
  • I have heard that Planet Hollywood are running a promotion (ends 31 March) for poker players. If you play for three hours in a cash game in there poker room, they will give you a free buffet. Seems like a very good deal, although I have never eaten at there buffet.

Looking around, it appears that this offer wasn't specific to poker when it was on up to 31st December, it was earn 50 tier credits and also applied to Rio.

Looking into it, it may include other properties as well - mentioned here:

    http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?126715-Planet-Hollywood-Play-for-a-Buffet-promo-until-End-of-December/page3

    Play, Redeem, Eat, Repeat
Through March during any gaming day (6
    a.m. through 5:59 a.m. the next day) earn 50
tier credits at any Caesars casino (or
combination of casinos), go to a Total
Rewards Center (or any of the special
promotional kiosks) and you’ll receive a
voucher for a complimentary buffet at your
choice of Flamingo, Harrah’s, Paris, Planet
Hollywood, or Rio. You’ll need to make that
    choice before printing your voucher.
The vouchers are good for 48 hours after
you redeem them, but you must claim your
voucher before the end of the gaming day in
    which you earned it.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • I think that this is a different promotion, as you only need to play for three hours, no points were mentioned

I think it may be the same, maybe not...but elsewhere there are comments on the previous promotion like this that suggest 3 hours of poker play = approx 50 tier credits.

    Hey all,
    I'm on a Mission again ! :D:D
Despite having our rooms sorted already, made up of Comps, etc....
    I'm looking at the Cosmo ! :):):)
Never considered it before, as being honest, its a hotel out of our price range.....
However, through a bit of my cheek, been offered 2 nights stay with them, any nights within a 1 week window......
But am applying extra cheek to get them to stretch it to 3 nights!
View from Google Maps shows it has nice pools, which is what we like! :):)
