Thanks for info. Reckoning on $100 a day/night....don't want to eat burgers every night and def want to see a show and do a bit of sightseeing beyond the strip. We plan on hiring a car and currently trying to work out whether it's best to do this from the UK or not.:j

$100 for food, shows and gambling?

You are spoilt for choice re places to eat

always hire a car from the UK which should include all insurances

my current fav is Alamobrits, also try rentalcars

Here's a list of some possibilities, with distances from Las Vegas:
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada 23 miles.
    Hoover Dam, Arizona/Nevada 32 miles.
    Mount Charleston, Nevada 43 miles.
Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada 56 miles.
Zion National Park, Utah 164 miles.
Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim), Arizona 275 miles.

Hi we will be travelling from Scotland to LV end of Feb next year. Flights and hotel booked. Any help appreciated in how we go about booking Blue Man Group. Is it best to wait until we get there or what? We are actually staying in the Luxor but don't want to be ripped off. Also any suggestions for good places to eat out..not mega expensive again as we have to stick to a budget of sorts. Cheers.

I can't help re Blue Man but regarding eating out especially if on a budget Groupon is a good starter. Some good deals although in some cases you get what you pay for as to say. On recent trips I was impressed with Groupon deals for Cafe 6 at Palms Place, Little Tony's at the Palace station and Spice Market buffet at Planet Hollywood. Remember that not all the groupon deals are on or close to the strip so a long walk or transport is needed.

Many of the big hotels have buffets, deals can be had on the buffets if you visit the show ticket stalls on the strip. Again the quality of buffets vary.

As this is your first visit to Vegas you may just want to see what is there rather than planning ahead but when you have been a few times you get to know the specific areas and this is where I find the Groupon deals usually work out good value. Not sayng all are great as I have had some that I will not be returning.;)
  • Thanks so much Stevie....we actually had a look at Groupon and I'll keep that in mind. Very helpful. Might just ask at the hotel re the show.
  • Cheers everyone for your helpful suggestions...we will take everything on board ...starting to get excited even writing about it. Do you think it will be cold end of February?

Or wait till you get there and use a tix4tonite booth

Do you have a separate gambling budget or if you are going to gamble that $100 may not last long

Fremont street for one night yes to see the light show, you will need a cab, bus or your car to get there. You could call in to the pawn stars shop on the way.

Ps have you read the first page of this thread, there are lots of hints and ideas on it
  • Haha Photome of course ....will just take jacket for walking about outside...on the way for some drinkies.
