Are you looking for this November Bobby.....or next ?

Man to Vegas is just over £400 in November this year.
Edi to Vegas is just over £500.

We've been in November a couple of times....one trip was freezing, the other quite pleasant for most of the trip.

ok thanks for the info, looking at this year and anytime between november 5th and the 13th, and prob going soing solo

We bring a cool bag big enough for a couple of drinks for us and fill it with ice in the morning and put it in a sink in the bathroom or sometimes in the tub/shower if we only have one sink. We top up the ice in the evening. The cool bag slows down the rate the ice melts - we have tried just filling the sink with ice, but it melts and drains away quite quickly. It does mean the cool bag gets quite wet, but putting it in the sink or shower deals with that...just drying it out before going home to worry about.

Thanks. My bigger cool bag is sort of silvery and smooth and glued on the inside rather than stitched, so I'm sure it's actually leakproof as well. It stands up reasonably well when there's stuff in it so I'm sure it would work, and hopefully wouldn't even have to dry it out.
  • is it worth me downloading the myvegas app and playing every day (for an April 2017 trip), if i'm not going to use it with facebook, or buy any chips through it?

I do not use the app, so no idea about how easy it is to earn LPs. I am sure someone else will be able to assist. However, I would assume that it would not be that hard to earn enough for 2 for 1s (eg Bellagio 26k; Aria 15.5k; MGM 10.5k) by April 2017.

My take on myvegas is that anything that can save a bit of money is fine by me. We have a trip comining up in November and will probably eat at Bellagio, MGM and Aria anyway. 2 for 1s mean we save $104.00.
  • :) me and mrs sm have the same thing with jetlag... I'll have a look at the Sig, thanks... though I reckon we'd prefer to stay that little bit further up the strip.
We too make the most of the separate living area. This is especially true for the first few days, as my husband and I adapt differently to jet lag.

MGM Sig 1 bed is our room of choice, and we are very happy with everything about MGM Sig. Also MGM Sig is always that littler bit per night cheaper than Vdara. However, I am always very tempted to try Vdara. My only issue is that I will fall in love, and Vdara will become our 1st choice.

Another vote for MGM Sig, been back for just under a fortnight, this was our first trip to LV so really appreciated the space and amenities that our 1 bed suite offered, however as we were in Tower 3 despite requesting Tower 1 it was a long walk just to get to the MGM Grand but we got used to it and it was nice and quiet.

Love reading this thread and getting everyone's opinions. We love tower 3. We enjoy it being very quiet, easy access to E Harmon Ave, and easy access to pool 2 (our preferred pool).

Getting very excited now for our upcoming trip.

Thats good to know. Did you book through low cost usa?

No, thomas cook arranged it for us. It said on the booking form that breakfast was included and no resort fees.

  • Going to Vegas for the first time in 12 years in a few weeks time and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I'm going to read through this informative thread when I get a minute but I was wondering, as I've heard conflicting stories, is it still possible to get 'free' drinks when you gamble in the casino's by tipping the waitress?

Anyone stayed in the Luxor recently? If so, what's it like?

And any recomendations for shows/stuff to do/places to eat greatly appriciated!

    Thanks!

I was in Luxor las September, yes it is huge, and our room was miles from the elevator so quite a walk, when we went out for the day, we just stayed out as it was so much hassle!

Someone was asking about ice machines, and there's one on each floor by the lift and the vending machines.

We had a basic pyramid room, standard Vegas room, 2 beds, big tv, not very modern but lots of space, bathroom a bit old fashioned, shower quite old school, nice pyramid soap, and yes we stayed in the pyramid with a fab strip view!

When we went it was 44 degrees so the air con struggled a bit, to be expected, we were on quite a high floor

Our taxi dropped us off at the tower entrance I think, so we went to the check in there where there was no queue and they happily checked us in, it was a genuine mistake on our part.

Food court was cheap and cheerful and Starbucks is always good!

Was in the Flamingo and MGM Sig this May, and Nov am back again, torn between MGM Sig and the Platinum, any recommendations between the two?

hmm, i'll look into the app more... i don't do FB any more, so i don't think i'm going to start up again just for the app...

edit - look like i don't have any choice! i guess i'll set up a new facebook account just to play the game with?

i'm sure if you ask the concierge (even in advance), they'd arrange for a small plug-in fridge to be put in your room? I'm sure they've had much more bizarre requests :)
They will do it for $25/night. That's the standard charge for MGM properties.
