  • Are you looking for this November Bobby.....or next ?

Man to Vegas is just over £400 in November this year.
Edi to Vegas is just over £500.

We've been in November a couple of times....one trip was freezing, the other quite pleasant for most of the trip.

    hi

i can understand you wanting a few soft drinks and i know how exspensive they can be but i found the shop grand canyon, which is beside the mgm ,(not mega far from the luxor) quite a good price
if i recall it was 2 bottles of coke (i think they were 510mls) for either $2 or $3 which i found good value so it worked out either a $1 or $1.5 a bottle,
    hope this helps.

have you been to vegas in november before?know what the weather is like about that time?
Im sorta toying with the idea of usuing Mlife offers(and myvegas) for a break in november, IF i can find good price on flights

No, never been at that time and I believe the weather can be variable. Possibly warm enough for a t-shirt during the day but much cooler at night. When we walked to Luxor earlier in the month we checked out the Rebel petrol station which is just south of the Tropicana, so just across from Luxor and it's reasonable. It's more the fridge that will be an issue, as I won't want to walk to a petrol station every time I want a cool drink. Might consider taking a watertight cool bag, as I'm sure the Luxor must have ice machines (does anyone know for sure?).

Flights were really cheap with BA. That's why we are going! We got a good deal for flight plus Luxor at about £519 less quidco, making it about £480 or so per person! We have friends going as well.
  • Team Washer Dryer! ;)

I think the main thing for us is separate living and bedroom areas. I know it can sound a bit luxurious, but we do make use of the room and enjoy it. Other 'apartment' style rooms tend be hideously more expensive, compared to a Vdara Suite or City Corner Suite at the Vdara.

Does Vdara have washer/dryers out of curiosity?

i'm sure if you ask the concierge (even in advance), they'd arrange for a small plug-in fridge to be put in your room? I'm sure they've had much more bizarre requests :)
  • :) me and mrs sm have the same thing with jetlag... I'll have a look at the Sig, thanks... though I reckon we'd prefer to stay that little bit further up the strip.
If 1 person wakes up early, the ability to slip out of the bedroom, enter the living room and read / get quietly dressed and slip out for a bit, we think is great and worth that little bit extra money.

MGM Sig I always describe as homely. After Vdara it might appear a little worn around the edges and not very glamorous. We actually love the location.
  • i take a cool bag and just fill it with ice everyday from the ice machine. works well and keeps my beers nice and cool.

I stayed at the encore in july with no resort fees and didnt have to argue at the desk. They were wiped before we checked out.

Who did you book with?!!We are staying at the Wynn in 4 weeks and have booked with Thomas Cook.OH always gets away with paying only for 3 days instead of the 7but would be nice not to have to pay any at all !!

Usually possible to get a fridge in Vegas hotels, but usually at $10 or $20 per day charge which I wouldn't really be prepared to pay just to store a few cans of drinks. We're going to ask about upgrades when we get there, and would hopefully get a fridge if we get an upgrade.

We won't have a fridge, I like to have a few soft drinks etc in the room, but with no fridge I'm not sure.

We bring a cool bag big enough for a couple of drinks for us and fill it with ice in the morning and put it in a sink in the bathroom or sometimes in the tub/shower if we only have one sink. We top up the ice in the evening. The cool bag slows down the rate the ice melts - we have tried just filling the sink with ice, but it melts and drains away quite quickly. It does mean the cool bag gets quite wet, but putting it in the sink or shower deals with that...just drying it out before going home to worry about.

we have had mixed luck with leaving a $10 tip for the maid with a note asking for a fridge. It's worked about half the time and the other half they leave a note saying to call down to the front desk. We assume that if there is one in a room they are cleaning after departure, it probably saves them the hassle to just stick it in our room. :)
