Does anyone have any tips/advice for booking and travelling on internal US flights? Is there anything non-Americans need to be aware of?

(That's if Trump even lets us in, if he wins :D )

    Don't expect free food

Be aware of alternatives so if the flight is overbooked and they are offering you a voucher for future travel (can be several hundred dollars if they are desperate) if you travel later you know what alternatives to ask for. (I've paid for a complete trip with these vouchers in the past)

    Don't expect in seat entertainment

If you have the time and inclination there's nothing to stop you going airside after you've cleared customs and immigration and bag drop going landslide and getting some fresh air .....we've even hopped on the air train into Manhattan from JFK for lunch before now. Just remember to allow time to get back through security.

We are going to Las Vegas twice next year , March and August (friends wedding) but at that price I will have a sneaky peaky while hubby is at work
  • Just booked flights to Vegas for end of July next year, flying from stansted with Thomas cook. Came up a great price for school holidays so couldn't say no. Anyone know what to expect flying long haul with Thomas cook?

You pay for all drinks - you get one main meal and a soft drink - you have to pay extra for headphones and extra again for any decent entertainment - take your own entertainment with you.;)
  • Anyone seen Nathan Burton Comedy Magic.
Know absolutely nothing about it, but could be fun for $12.50 on Groupon.
Also any Groupon codes kicking about?

    Spot on reply.
Also food is decent, but small portions. We always take a few extra snacks, but we do like our food.
Imo TC is fine, nothing fancy. They are decent value for money when you drop on a deal.

$10 off minimum $30, can use code 3 times. Code is DEAL10

I have seen Nathan Burton a few years back, it was good. Mac King is good too. Both afternoon shows, so depends if you have spare time then - we normally don't, because we like to shop and go to the pool so our days tend to be busy.

Thanks for the code. Currently having a think.
We too pool and shop normally (May), so have never considered it before. Going end of November, and looking forward to mixing it up a bit.
  • We are also going in November, though more in the middle. Not expecting the weather to be great, so thinking we might do things like that at that time of year too. Haven't been when the weather is cooler, and we're conscious we don't want to be drinking during the day so it's not like we can do 'evening' things during the day.
