"MONTE CARLO"
Suites:
Only ever stayed in the Monaco Suite twice, and have also stayed in the Spa Suite 2 years ago....
Monaco Suite is pretty good already, and Spa suite is pretty dam good too!
$20 trick at the counter has never worked, but depending how u talk, u might get away with $20 or $30 a night upgrade fee...
Diamond Suite is the MacDaddy, that will be next on my agenda!
Spa Suite:
And yes, that Jacuzzi tub is bloody good, especially as your right by the window, and plenty places to put down your big can of Bud Light!
Monaco Suite:
I like the Monte! Does the job !
For those who haven't seen my trip reports, have a butchers, as I always take photos of rooms, etc, and state if I manage to wheel & deal, so worth giving it a try yourself, etc..............

Stuie, just read your 2014 trip report and you got a great deal at the Elara. You say you did this by "using social media and price matching and cheek" can you explain please? The deal I have is OK at the moment £378 and 10% cashback. I usually book my original hotels with free cancellation and then if a better deal comes up cancel and book again.0

Didn't think it possible to get conned at the car hire but it is. Booked car with Dollar via ebookers. At the counter was an American with a major gripe but I was concentrating on my rental, he was offering me a load of add ons which I normally decline but I needed to add another driver a couple of days later, would have cost an extra $12 a day plus tax, yikes! would do it for $6 if I got the tyre and breakdown insurance so I thought ok might as well and I could go further afield than Vegas and not be worried about a breakdown. He said he would put a note on the system to say about the $6 charge. Went back 2 days later to add the extra driver, $12 a day, was told a note put on there for $6. No that is impossible has to be $12, she showed me the screen was $12 a day. Was very annoyed that I had been conned, the manager offered me $50 towards another booking but I only wanted to add another driver for 6 days and they want me to pay for the rest of my booking 10 days and then go back and cancel the other driver after 6 days, I didn't believe them and didn't want to be coming and going from the rental centre. $12 a day and the car is already fully insured, nearly as much as my yearly insurance at home. While I was there a girl was in discussion (argument)with them about a flat tyre she had while on the highway, she had to wait over 3 hours to get help and pay an extortionate amount.
I complained to Dolllar via their website but didn't get a reply.
Money saving advice: you can get the breakdown, tyre, undercarriage insurance before you go for a fraction of the price they want to force down your neck at the desk when you get there. I will not ever use Dollar Thrifty or Hertz ever after the con they pulled on me. 2 years ago one of them wanted me to upgrade the car, I booked a small SUV which I knew was in short supply, he told me I was going to die in such a small car, I was adamant about getting that car, his initial offer halfed eventually because I flew with Virgin, bunch of sharks, these con merchants will be the death of vegas.0 -
