I'm doing the currency gamble at the moment. I still have quite a lot to change so any rise (and fall!) can make a big difference. Travel Premier has it at a hair's breadth under 1.32 at the moment. I'm torn as to whether I should go for it or hang on longer. We go in just under 3 weeks.
I would deal, but then again I am not a gambler.

Bobbed along at 1.4 something pretty much this year during uncertain times. We are now in worse than uncertain times, so we are probably not going to see 1.4 again for a very long time.

Any increase will not be majorly significant. Look how BoE not changing interest rates effected the $ - short term a small rise, but now under pre-announcement rate.

Bad news and the decrease will be significant.

[Disclaimer - making it all up as I go].

Markets work on interpretation of worse expected outcome and also uncertainty (ie. referendum approaching, worse possible result was out so markets started to dip and showed decline). Things are stabilising now, and I would expect further decline to be negligible (to many extents, in terms of trade the worst has already happened). Ie. Article 50 is expected (as voted for), so the impact of it has already been taken into account

What are your top tips for Vegas? Whether it be places to visit, places to eat or bargains to take advantage of what are the things you feel should be on everyone's list when visiting Vegas?

    hi
it depends i feel what works for you Imo,As seldom seen kid said good footwear!
Another tip is look for whom may be in vegas when you are there. When i was looking around for our trip back in june i stumbled across my fav boxer was preforming at the mgm grand (mike tyson was doing his one man show !!:D) so i was like im booking up
This year was the first time we did the Freemont street experince and we enjoyed the atmostphere and we got some good pictures, we combined that with the mob musuem which we found intresting.

Have you did the Las vegas sign? I dunno if its on everyones *places to visit* but its something anf its free!

where are you stay hotel wise? we ve stayed at the mgm grand and found the shop *grand conyon* quite good value, as i dont touch the booze I often bought juice from there which was 2 bottles for $2.50
my brother often got some beers for himself, there at a good price.
Oh there are tix4tonight booths which has dicounted shows tickets for the same day, night, next day and night tickets,
    Hope this helps

    hi

I posted a few weeks ago about having issues with M-life website and how it was not working for me,Turns out my brother somehow had My email as well, despite him giving them his email
Sorted out now glad to say though i have a question about the *comp nights*

Now i see under hotel rewards I see 2 different offers( for comp nights , 1 other offer for Prevailing Rate )

Can i combine the 2 offers for the comp nights? one offer is for a *Complimentary Deluxe Room * and the other is *
Complimentary Room For Two Nights* so in theroy i would get 3 nights free( excluding resort fees)

If my brother can get his Mlife online account working would it be possiable to combine both our *comp nights*
Any advice most welcomed and thanks again

If you've never visited any other US city, then try to spend at least a little bit of time off the Strip to see somewhere more like normal America. For example, Maryland Parkway has many normal US shops and restaurants. There's an extensive bus system in Las Vegas to get around the city.

If you've never visited any other parts of the USA, try to take at least one trip outside the city. Here's some possibilities, with mileages:
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada 23 miles
    Hoover Dam, Arizona/Nevada 32 miles
    Mount Charleston, Nevada 43 miles
Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada 56 miles
Zion National Park, Utah 164 miles
Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim), Arizona 275 miles
You can get escorted trips to most of these places, but renting a car and driving yourself will be the easiest and most convenient way of doing those things, and give you the best experience. Driving in the USA is very easy, especially outside of cities.

I think you have to have 72 hours between using comp offers, so you couldn't combine your two into 3 consecutive nights. You could book the 2 comped nights and if your brother has the same offer, he could book two more and at check in you could ask them to link the reservations so you don't have to check out.

Also, have you clicked into the first offer to see how many nights it is for? Sometimes they don't say in the title of the offer. The freeplay or resort credit may be different as well.

And don't forget that you cannot use resort credit to cover the resort fee - we didn't realise this the first time and ended up trying to burn a lot at Starbucks on check-out day. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

No u can't combine comps in your name. Some hotels will let u have 48 hours between comp stays.
You could do two nights on your account then ur brothers comp

Your last line made me laugh, and thank you for taking the time to explain.

This time next week, my flight will be in a few hours :D However, as my 8 year old came down with chickenpox last Sunday  but is thankfully scabbing over now, I'll make an appointment for a fit to fly letter for Friday. The scabs have come off his face at least and he is back to being the normal P.I.T.A he usually is-Thankfully :rotfl: Last week I was on tenterhooks not knowing if we would be going  Now it's pretty much certain.Thankfully, someone up there was looking out for me, as if it was this Sunday he caught them, we wouldn't be going anywhere!
