    hi
and thanks for the trip report dontone,I do like a nosy to see what others do in vegas and get ideas to what to do/see/where to eat!

we did the high roller for the 1st time this year and my brother and i, well we dont mind heights but we both had that *moment* when we looked down and well had to sit down!
but we tried to focus on the drinks and taking pictures so we would not look down(again)

As for the begging i tend to agree with you it seemed to be alot more,

AS for the thomas cook-tv. had a kinda similar situation with our *internal flights* between vegas and new york both ways. There was an option to *buy* the live tv option, and as far as i could see there were two options buy the live tv option or had NO tv at all.
    we flew with united.

jetlag really worked on us this year and its the worst i ve felt though i ve only been 3 times so 1 0utta 3 aint bad(meatloaf?:p)
    kind regards

I had the same issue with groupon when something was cancelled. They said i would be refunded in bucks but i said i wouldnt use them. They did refund my card for me no problem. I imagine you have to ask though.

Thanks :) I'm not sure if I should hold fire as the credit would be cheaper to use if something popped up than using my card at the moment :( But can't see anything at the moment.

    hi

Been over 2 weeks since we left vegas and I have that urge to start looking to book up again !
As a few people know im pretty nosey esp with regards trip reports,
Im trying to get my brother to agree maybe try go *all out* in regards flights and hotel rooms,

so, what are the best flights you guys and gals have been on? a fav airline?travel class? was it worth the price-points?( sadly we do not have any points in regards flequent flyer miles)

at the moment im looking at trying to get as much info in regards IF First class or business class with BA or Upper class with virgin would be worth the effort/cost/value for money going with these bigger airlines, im doing alot of research in that respect.Have i maybe missed another worthwhile airline? At the moment I are looking for something like this
    edinburgh>london>vegas ----vegas-london-edinburgh

After seeing stuie34's amazing pics from his recent trip and his fantastic hotel room( looked like a mini house !!) what has been the best hotel room(vegas wise) you have stayed in?
how did you get it, booking direct with the hotel?the $20 upgrade?did you know what room/type of room you wanted?Again was it worth the price?

Again thanks for reading and hoping to get some pointers.
    kind regards

Are you signed up with any? It took me less than 2 years to get enough Virgin air miles for two one-way Upper Class tickets to Vegas. Also, make sure you look out for the seat sales.

I personally prefer the BA cabins to Virgin, but everyone is different.

As to if it's worth it, again, totally depends on you. I've only ever flown long-haul in economy once, one-way, and I would never do it again. I don't mind it for a few hours to Greece or whatever, but 8-12 hours...no chance! I would rather pay the extra for Premium Economy as a minimum. But, there are plenty of people who couldn't care less about the flight as it's just a means to an end, and they would rather spend that money at the destination, or on an extra trip. Horses for courses!

Maybe try and upgrade to PE or equivalent and see how you feel about it. It's will give you a feel for whether you consider the additional space and the various extras worth the cost.

You don't actually have to fly often to build up the miles. Virgin, for example, I got some of mine through booking hotels, train tickets, online shopping (loads of stores are linked to the Virgin Shops Away scheme), doing surveys, trading in Clubcard points....I also have a Virgin Atlantic credit card that earns me miles.

We only fly once a year too and because we've started using miles to pay for our flights we don't earn a single mile from our flights! We paid taxes only last year and this and already have enough for next year too and we're at least halfway to paying for our 2018 flights. We've used the Tesco Credit Card (now no longer as lucrative), Topcashback (no longer an option to convert to Virgin miles via Tesco Clubcard) and most recently the American Express Preferred Rewards charge card to earn our Virgin miles. There are loads of ways to earn miles and it doesn't take much effort, honest!

Really glad you're back in the Vegas 'zone'

we don't think Upper Class on Virgin would be worth the money to us - we paid for a one-way upgrade once and had a surprise one-way upgrade another time. It's great, don't get me wrong, and if there were some fancy sort of miles + money or upgrade thing then we would look into it...but PE is perfectly suitable for us. We're officially spoiled, economy to Vegas would be hard for us since we've been lucky enough not to for several years. If we were wee little people we might not be that beholden to PE, but we do like it quite a lot.

DH got food poisoning. Spent 4 days in the bog. Poor thing. Walgreens suggested some rehydration drink that helped. But he was nearly in tears. We think it might have been a dodgy bottle of beer in a casino. But he was rather ill. One of those things

that's awful...4 days. What a way to spend so much of his holiday. :( I picked up something nasty once, but I was at least able to leave the room the following day, even though I couldn't eat anything but sweet stuff the rest of the trip and the pictures of steaks in our hotel lift made me queasy for the duration.

To this day, I wonder if I didn't pick up something from a slot machine. At the time I was still in my Carmex tub phase and realised that several times a day I probably used the same hand I'd been spinning the reels with to apply lip stuff without even thinking.

We're just back from Chicago and while I was good in managing to stay up most of the time when we got home, I finally bought some melatonin tablets this trip, and I do think they really help. If I admitted that I bought a sealed bottle (expiry late 2017) at a yard sale for $0.75, I am not sure if that would make me frugal or stupid, but it seems to have worked out OK.
