Not on the list I'm afraid :(

With our points we can have:
Trump
Aria
Planet Hollywood
New York New York
The Linq
Treasure Island
The Westin
Golden Nugget and a host of other cheaper ones.

I would do with the Westin then. It is a 5 minute walk to centre strip, is totally non smoking and has a tiny casino so no trudging through endless machines to get to your room. Nest of all it's a 2 minute walk to Ellis Island
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

It's on there but a bit more points than we want to use as we want to book our LA hotel on points as well. Having said that, it does look lovely..........hhmmmm. We could pay some cash towards it, but as we're on a 3 week trip with v expensive flights I'm trying to economise SOMEWHERE!

Heat not an issue as we're going in late October. We live in Spain and it was 35 degrees yesterday! Well over 40 in July and August so I know how debilitating it can be

Thanks.

Gotchya, yeah late October it will probably be quite pleasant to wander about outside. I admire anyone who can behave normally in the heat, I absolutely love it when I'm on a lounger with a cocktail! We got married in Vegas and the pastor who conducted our ceremony is a serious runner - she marries people at the halfway point of the Vegas marathon every year, just barmy/incredible!

Vdara is so lovely and it smells like heaven to me but as you're budgeting and planning for such a nice long trip it makes perfect sense to stick with your list

I think I read the casino will be gone soon too (replaced by a restaurant) and they will just have a poker room left

edit: Here you go :)http://thevegasparlay.com/william-hill-sports-book/vegas-casino-closing-sports-book-will-stay/ - I was wrong about the poker room , but there'll be video poker and a sportsbook :)

Most of those you have to walk through the casino. Trump obviously doesn't have one and Westin I'm pretty sure fits the criteria too

Having read the tripadvisor reviews and looked at how much it would have cost to book we've gone for the Trump as seemed to be more bang for our bucks.

Followed that up with booking a £32 hotel at Madrid airport - one extreme to the other :rotfl:.

You'd have to do them one-by-one, but go here: http://tinypic.com

Click "choose file", and pick the photo you want to upload

Choose the resize option and pick 800x600

Click upload

After it's uploaded, you'll see a textbox with something that starts with "

Thanks, will give it a go!

Can I just ask, is that the one with the poker hand at the very end, and had the chap with the very natty green suit on?
EDIT - reason I'm asking is 'cos I couldn't get the link you posted to work, was just getting an error (It's youtube playing up I think) anyway, I saw it a couple of days ago, was rather impressed, but a bit astounded that you spent all that, and didn't get a single bonus.
If so, well done. I like watching Diana's videos too, amongst others.
DH reckons it's a bit sad watching slot machine videos, but I always class it as essential research - i.e which ones eat your money up pretty quickly ;)

Yes that's the one! I watch loads on youtube (it's not sad, I tell myself that) and came across the Vegas Fanatics site as DianaEvoni mentioned it on one of her vids. We decided to join in as it was on the day after we landed. We went with the thought we'd lose $500 and if we didn't then great. We would never play that high on slots.

There was a bit of chat between a couple of us before hand about if we should choose one machine to play thru but somehow it didn't really work out. I chose Kitty Glitter (or sh*tty glitter as I call it!) I have never liked it but decided to let it redeem itself by giving us a big bonus round at $30/press....as you can see it didn't! The guy in the suit also chose it so $1000 in and no bonus....boo...

It was well organised, Cosmo were very good hosts, the 2 people heading it knew what they were doing and I got players points for using my card! I think that's maybe why I had $0 bill at Cosmo on checkout!

I don't want one where you have to go through a casino to get in and out.
Is this for personal reasons, or do you perceive it as being hassle? :)

If it's the latter, it's generally no hassle to walk through the casino (well, no less hassle than being at Trump and needing to go out) :)

I know you've booked, but Aria would also have been a good / comparable choice to Trump

Have fun anyways!

Entertainment On Friday night we had arranged a meet with some people off another message board, Vegas Fanatics. We were meeting at Cosmo and doing a HL pull. We met at 8.30pm in the high limit room. We all put into a slot of your choice and play it through. Any handpays are shared out equally. There were 12 of us involved so $6000! As I don't have any tax to pay I offered my players card (some nice points earned).

that's awesome - what a great idea and video!

thanks for the trip report, really enjoyed reading it!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I've got a bit of a dilemma. I thought my flights were 14 nights sat-sat, but have now realised we depart Friday night, not Saturday. We have our first 3 nights booked at Tuscany, then 11 nights at Platinum (though we need only 10 of those as I booked the Friday night by accident!

I've noticed that The Rio is $20 per night for our last 5 nights. Our Platinum rate is $100 more than that, though with no resort fee.

Should we move to Rio for 5 (or a bit less) nights? Would save us a few hundred bucks!
