I second that! There are a large number of different room types at Caesars and a big difference between the best and the most basic. Vdara only have 4-5 different room types, I've stayed in their 'basic' and it's anything but. Beautiful, well maintained and modern and it comes with a kitchenette. The only reasons for choosing Caesars are if you want a more 'Vegas' experience given that Vdara is non-gaming and nonsmoking or if you want a big pool area (Vdara's, though nice, is tiny)

Don't get me wrong, I love Caesars. But the room we had was worse than a bad Best Western on the moors. The bedspread had seen plenty of action without a wash, as had the comfy chair!!! Stuff was hanging off the walls in the bathroom, carpet was threadbare, linens were stained.......

We're not 'Vegas-type people' to be honest
In which case, bear in mind that there's no rule saying you have to stay in one of the resort casino hotels. Most of the US motel chains have locations in Las Vegas if you prefer that style of accommodation.

Was that in the Roman Tower? I think that is the tower they have recently refurbished (renamed Julius Tower). But I completely agree that there is a huge difference between the different room types at Caesars.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Trump doesn't have a casino, so it is a non-casino hotel.

Yeah but there's a new "classic" room in another old tower.

There were no motels on the op's list. My experience has been that motels are often more expensive than the casino hotels too.

I am just planning a trip for later this year and am considering staying in a cheapish hotel for the first part of the trip and then as I haven’t stayed in a 5 star before, moving to either Caesars Palace or the Vdara (cheapest room and both have a similar cost) for the last two or three days. Which hotel would you choose and why, do you think that two nights would be too short?
I haven't stayed in vdara and wouldn't because it doesn't have a casino and is part of the monstrosity that is city centre.

As for Caesars, we stayed in the tower that looks over the Bellagio pool , the one nearest the strip, can never remember if it's octavius or Augustus, but which ever it was my wife cried when we walked in, she loved the room and the perfect view of the fountains, and as it is Caesers it is quintessentially Vegas rather than a non descripti glass tower

Think you know by now which gets my vote;)
