  • Morning all

Weather was nice and sunny this morning but now it looks like it is going to chuck it down any minute :( Got one load of washing on line so just hoping it dries before the heavens open

Just got in from work..Wasnt meant to be working till this afternoon but got a phone call late last night asking if I could come in a 6 this morning...Been in home about 20 mins so quickly just ran up and made the beds and got the WM on with its 2nd load today just got to have a quick clean up in the living room and hoover all through then going to take DS on his first trip backberry picking as a customer came in the shop and told me this morning of a good spot to go and pick some :) Just need to find some recipes...Will put a post up asking for ideas on what to use them for :)
DH is off metal detecting this afternoon so by the time I get back I should have the house to myself as DS will need his afternoon nap so that gives me time to think what I am going to use the blackberries for..

Went up to tescos yesterday and got 2 big packs of mushrooms that was reduced to 40p so going to try and make some mushroom soup tonight for lunch tomorrow..So wish me luck as I have never made mushroom soup so not too sure how it will turn out

    Hope everyone is ok

    Morning All,

Been awake for ages and haven't done a lot! Amazing how the day can just drizzle away. Not a lot to say - still have a bit of the downers.

Went to Pershore Plum Fayre yesterday - what a waste of time! Except for the old tools and old cars that is. And we did miss the teddy parachute jumps in the church tower - can you imagine letting teddy off and then finding his parachute doesn't work. I'd feel guilty all day!

Must go do something. Need to finish painting bedroom so I can get it back in order. Then if I do manage to catch feral cat, she'll have one room to hide in. At least we still like the paint.

    ((((to all that need them))))

    Ciao
  • Been there done that, Mr T's shopping is all away and all for £57.13 plus £10 in the tank enough to get us down to Dover and over to France will then fill up before we come back, desiel is so much cheaper there and a tank will keep us going for 6 weeks.

I did manage about 3 hours sleep, we are nipping to the lottie this afternoon, we need to water and pick what ever is ready......then I will come home and put a carrot cake into the oven..........HM fish and chips for supper ......really need a decent nights sleep tonight..............heres hoping.

Its a funny sort of day, not cold, but the sun keeps coming and going first time for ages we have the windows in the living room closed......

    See y'all later...............
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00
  • Hi again

Congratulations to tired mum's DD - what an achievement!
Congratulations also to scuzz - you really will enjoy your independence!
natzini - hope your DMum's operation goes well.

Well, my poor DS has an abcess or infection in his peridontic gland (I think that's what the doc called it). He is on strong antibiotics but the doc says if there is no significant improvement by Thursday I have to phone him so he can have him admitted to hospital to have it drained. I'm so angry at XDH for letting it go so long. The right side of his jaw is twice as big as the left and it hurts just to turn his head. Lots of tlc will be dispensed at regular intervals.

I have the podiatrist this afternoon so I have to make sure my tootsies are fragrant and fresh. I love having my feet done - it never seems quite so good when I do them myself.

Dinner for DS and DD is steak pie (if DS can manage it), mash and veg. I will have some curry from the freezer.

Hi everyone. Just got back from my first trip to the gym for a week - I took it easy because I don't want to do my back in again but I enjoyed it and feel a lot better for it. I think it does the spirit good as well as the body and the music they play is brilliant. A real feel-good factor.

PENPEN - those waistcoats are brilliant - well done.

FROGGA - please don't be hard on yourself; you sound such a lovely person and you have many friends here who will always listen and support you.

MRSMIX - I do hope the pills keep your knee steady - it must be very painful.

HEAVENLEIGH - what a dreadful experience; Im not surprised you discharged yourself but please take care.

CATOWEN - it's good to hear you're feeling more positive. Take care of yourself.

BIBBITYBOB - Hi there - I don't think we've met yet! I've not been on here much the past week. ME is a horrible condition; one of my sisters has it and I know how bad it can make you feel. The important thing is to put yourself first and rest whenever you need it - easier said than done, I know.

SCUZZ - Congratulations on your offer for the flat being accepted. That is brilliant news.

NATZINI - Hope your mum's op goes well and she will soon be on the mend.

TIREDMUM - congratulations to DD on her GCSE!

MATH - don't forget, you will need a plastic squirrel that is bigger than the butterfly!

Well, now that DH is off to France and my back is a lot better, I've got more free time on here so I will definitely be popping in more often than I've been able to do for a couple of weeks. I've really missed it.

AMIE - thanks for the encouragement re flying on my own! I felt really brave just booking it let alone getting on the plane when the time comes. I am flying from Southampton (which is only about fifteen minutes away so no hassle there) to Angers and then DH will meet me (I hope!) and by then I'll be feeling really brave and proud of myself. It's only a short flight - about an hour, I think, and I'll have a book to read so I should be alright. I wish I wasn't so terrified because there are such a lot of places I want to go like China and Russia but, as the longest flight I've been on was to Spain and that felt like forever, I don't know if I'll ever go further! My main travelling ambition is to go to Arizona and stay on a ranch. I would love to round up cattle and ride the prairie. All those years watching 'The Virginian' have had a lasting impact on me!

Anyway, starving hungry now so I'm going to have some Bovril and HM bread & butter for lunch. Will see you later. (((hugs))) to all those in need.

    KathyXX

ANNIEBOOKKLOVER - your poor DS; that must be so painful for him. At least he's on the antibiotics now. Please give him a (((hug))) - as an ex-dental nurse, I know just what he's going through.
