Morning all! Big hugs to poorlies, coping vibes to those who are feeling the stresses and strains of this time of year with sprinkles of calming vibes too
S's birthday yesterday - he was 9 so I took him and 4 friends to see Star Wars. Quiet afternoon culminating in us putting our PJs on at 6 and watching Strictly! J rang last night and has asked if we'd like to go skiing over half term; only problem is the kids are off at different times even though both under same council so will have to see about that. No word from Z in Holland but the Head is putting photos etc up on Twitter so I know roughly what they're up to.
Got up early to watch the results of Strictly- didn't see it live as J wanted me to record The Bridge for him. S is upstairs on my iPad; I've just had my breakfast and need to sort out what I need to do. Looking like:
* Vacuum
* [STRIKE]Maybe 2 loads of washing - got lights in now[/STRIKE]
* Ironing
* [STRIKE]Walk Whiz and Pip[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]Write cards for neighbours[/STRIKE] and drop off
* Help S make his robot
*[STRIKE] Sort out chooks[/STRIKE]
Spot the odd one out? Of course knitting is on my list too, not that I'd put it on. Making good progress with my cardi and am really pleased with it.
Have a great day all xFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
OMG I have rage this morning
Dot has opened several Christmas presents and lost bits and broken some of them.. I am absolutely freaking fuming.. I want to just put her in the bin.. £27 of stuff fit for the bin.... not a happy bunny.
CF has not paid me the money for the children which should have been done today.. so yet another saga for me to deal with.
Knitting of this gift almost finished then I just have 2 hats to knit this week and I'm fairly sorted.. taking my rage upstairs shortly to wrap.. I will get it finished today .. and what doesn't get wrapped can stay that way.
On the plus side, its a nice day so washing can go out on the lineLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I have washed 7 of the 8 loads of washing that appeared out of 2 suitcases :eek: Most of it has gone in the TD, but DH's socks and shirts are draped round the bathroom.
I have dusted the LR and put up all the cards we have received - fortunately the nice NDN came in every day while we were away to pick the post up off the mat and put it out of sight on the half-landing, so we managed to open the front door without too much difficulty.
I did most of the shopping yesterday but have to go to MrS this afternoon for last-minute bits of food for the family party tomorrow and a couple of presents.
DD and DGS1+2 are arriving at about 5.00 pm :eek: Before then I have to
- finish tidying and cleaning
- make up beds and the cot for DGS4 for tomorrow
- wrap all the presents
- cook tonight's meal.
I have asked DH to put up the tree and lights. He appears to be on a go-slow :mad:
Onwards and upwards!
BTW, if anyone is thinking of using the 40% off voucher at Aldi - the one that's currently doing the rounds on FB - it is (sadly) a scam0 -
Oh dear Pigpen, I am sorry - you've always got so much on your plate. Has CF given an excuse for not paying you? We've got sunshine here too and it's lovely to see blue sky for once.
S pushing it; I warned him if he flew his toy plane again instead of getting dressed then he'd be off the iPad today. I expect you can guess what he did. So now I'm getting profuse apologies and he's been gently smacking his own face saying sorry sorry and that he should have stopped. Where has the smacking come from? Am I right in thinking they go through stages to test you and if you react they think it's a get out of jail free card?Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Just his 'name' lol.. Its ok though.. CMS said they can get the money within 5 days if he doesn't cough up and will charge him £300 for the privilege.. it may be a bank delay (unlikely as its a standing order!) so I will see tomorrow and give them a call!
Right.. wrapping.. and OH can play in the kitchen..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all
Its going to be one of those days where time flies I can see it coming. I don't even know where to start with my lists. I think DD can do upstairs while I do the window (which is very nearly finished) and the laundry which has exploded. I was going to take her to the shop to exchange something, but that can wait until Mon-Wed (depends how we're feeling, we're both feeling very rough thanks to AF) or I might take the stuff back after Christmas when she's away as there's no rush as long as I get it back within 28 days
DD has fed the dog and taking him for a walk in a minute as he is bouncing again literally. Its like living with a cross between Zebedee and Speedy Gonzales! I have no idea what's got into him but he's so funny we can't be mad at him.
Okay, so I think todays plan needs to be window, washing, DD can clean through then maybe we might be able to get the decorations out and up. We are SO late doing them this year, I don't think I've ever been this lateTea will have to be something out of the freezer to make room as I can't fit anything in there atm.
I best shift myself. First job when I get off here is another coffee and set the freeview box up properly as we've got films on today we want to record! I'm hoping it won't take long. I'd do the window but the sun is in the awkward spot where I can't see a blooming thing! It'll have moved by 12.30 hopefully. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Me again. Everyone seems so busy.
I have WUDUPA, done gym, bath, hoovered/swept/mopped through house and have decided that I'll take the dogs with me later to an outdoor carol concert, so that will be a walk of sorts for them although they'll be sitting most of the time.
Just having a quick lunch of pringle$, what else at Christmas time and will then look at the list, promise.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Chucked it down with rain whilst S and I were out walking so had to get in and change our trousers! It was nice to be out regardless - I get twitchy if I don't have exercise. The dogs appreciated the walk too but we ended up going home a lot quicker than we went out. Oh well, at least we had sunshine for about 4 hours but it's now hammering down.
Going to do us some lunch and there's a nice film on BBC1 for us to see at 1.15. I think I can see TV, knitting and maybe even popcorn in my futureFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Oh sorry but this made me giggle. Hope you have recovered.
Pigpen hope the money gets sorted. I am building up to a lecture with my 3 menfolk about not leaving me to do everything over the next 2 weeks. However DH is tiling the bathroom at the moment so this doesnt apply to him. Oh and one of my boys opened one of DHs presents once and broke it so I have been there with that.
I need to sit down and mealplan for this week. I have been so busy thinking about Christmas food that I neglected to think about the fact that we still need to eat for the next 4 days.
Dog walking done, off to put chicken in the oven for tea, washing blowing on the line so will fetch it in soon.
Need to find some new earphones for DS off the internet. Long story but I put his in the washing machine and they still work, but not very well.0
