DS and I ahve our pjs on :o

It's raining and we've nowhere to be so why not? Washed some towels, made up some xmas crackers - we actually bought some more earlier.

DS was so sad this morning, we had 6 crackers from last year and they pulled two this morning. Then he realised we didn't have enough for everyone at christmas and he cried his little heart out. So unlike him, he must be shattered :A

Anyway, we found he box of make your own, and we bought some frozen ones from B&M. So we have loads now and he is almost smiling again.

Our tree fell over this morning! I was in the right place at the right time and caught it! The box it was stood on moved and the whole thing tipped over - so I've sorted and stabilised that.

I'm feeling a bit harassed haha the kids are being over dramatic. DD has wept and wailed because her "skin is coming off" - it isn't! She has a tiny Mark on her finger. They are in a nark about stickers and whether little chocs or haribo go in the crackers, and DS has sat on his toy airplane and snapped the tail fin <rollseyes>

Right, I'll help them finish sealing these crackers up...

Sounds like they need a quiet day Bossymoo... and to go to bed early :D
  • Oh Bossy I remember those days well, it all just gets too much bless them.

I am sitting here feeling very lazy after reading my book and napping for a bit. Its the Saturday before Christmas and I feel like I should be tearing around in a panic but its mostly done. Will wrap the few last bits when I log off here.

Like Jazee I am not bothering to attempt to walk the dog. Mine isnt that old but its getting increasing difficult to get him out of the door. He doesnt like any sign of rain, wind or cold and will happily sleep most of the time in winter.

I have made the final adjustments to the big food shop which is coming tomorrow. I have bought loads of extras which is really nice to do when I tend to be fairly frugal most of the year.

Oh and its been grey here again, but windy, so I have put some washing out, might go and see if it has dried at all.

DD shoved into attic - missing xmas decs found and loads of clutter (like old schoolbooks) flung. Loft much tidier. Been to tip. Car was full.
have ironed - there wasn't much and finally properly sorted my curtain.

Church decorated. May post some photos if I get round to it; Xmas cracker arrangement went down well.
Currently working through huge list. One of the items was 'tidy dining room table'.....in doing so I have so far found 4 other lists from various times over the last week!
    Made table decoration for tomorrow.
Folded and put away some clothes.
Won't type whole list here as I'd best be getting on with it! Perhaps a coffee to keep me going - slept badly so did cracker flower arrangement at 4am!!

RANT ALERT feel free to ignore!
So I was doing well with my list, having cleared dining room table and - with the knowledge Mr N and I would have dinner on our laps in front of the Strictly finals - left neat piles on the table of local cards to post; presents to be collected by brother tomorrow etc. I had moved into the kitchen to make gingerbread men, soup and chilli for various guests tomorrow, and started thinking about our 'lap' meal, while Mr N took his mum shopping. Trouble is, he brought her back here to wrap presents (in messy glittery paper which is now everywhere) . I couldn't NOT ask her to dinner (still with no specific thing in mind but Mr N and I would probably had an omelette or something. Now I've cobbled together a kedgeree, instructed Mr N to put the recorder on for Strictly, knowing that I'll probably have to watch the 'results and final' before the first bit as I'd already put the recorder on for something else. Plus we will have to clear the dining room table properly and spend long enough eating to be sociable when there is still a lot to do - not the least of which is hoovering up the !!!!!!! glitter.

OK rant over. My life is rarely ruled by TV and I am really a nice charitable person who doesn't begrudge a MIL with age and - memory problems - a dinner. Well not usually. Lucky I am staying calm all this festive season or I'd be wound up!

  • Narco- hugs I feel for you. I also hate glittery paper and will be avoiding glittery cards in future too.

But mostly I sympathise with you over Strictly. I made the point of speaking to my mum before tea so I don't have to miss any. Hopefully you will get to watch it asap

I have warned my kiddies about disrupting my viewing ;) I hope you get some peaceful time to catch up narc0

I even got a tray of snacks out before it started so they wouldn't pull the "I'm hungry" stunt ;) and im having a beer, albeit alcohol free :)

And all glittery cards go straight into recycling here! I've enough to contend with all the disney princess outfits!

DDs bed made and her room tidied this aft - she did lots of it too! We have a morning at home tomorrow then two parties. One is at a play barn so I'm going to pop into the farm shop while we are there ;) ooo I hope it's open!
